Emerald, a perfectly normal girl living in a penthouse in the hills of Hollywood thought it would be a perfect day to hang out with her friends. Emerald ran down the stairs to ask her mum, her mum is strict and never lets Emerald do anything. She said no. 

"But mum, all I want to do is go down to the beach with Amy,"she said,"please?" 

"No!" Her mum said angrily starting to lose her temper. Emerald ran to her room in tears wishing she could go out for once. In the distance Emerald saw an island. "I wish I could go there!" 

Then she noticed her open window, if only she could jump down. 

"That's it!" She exclaimed dancing about on her tiptoes," I'll jump through the window." She opened the latch wider so she could fit through and leapt into a bush in her front garden. "Ouch my hand!" Emerald noticed she had landed in a bush of brambles so she was bleeding all over. 

The raft. Emerald went down to a shed near the beach and took out some planks of wood and placed them on the ground. She was a scout and so she knew every knot there was to learn. When the raft was finished she was so delighted with herself that she went up to some strangers and started dancing. Emerald dragged the raft towards the sea and pushed it slightly towards the cold water and jumped on. "I can't believe I'm doing this,"she sniggered," I'm so naughty!" 

Off she went sailing away into the distance and at every second she was a centimetre closer.

"I feel like toast!" She said, fanning herself," I'm so hot!" She fell down stroking her fingers against the cool water. As time went by the sun set and made a beautiful golden glow in the sky. 

"Wow!"She said looking up into the horizon,"Its amazing!" Her eyes closed as she fell into a deep sleep as she drifted slowly away from home.

"Aahhh!" She screamed as her boat scraped across the island. 

"I'm here! I'm really here!" She jumped about not realising how stupid she looked. As the moon came out and the sky got darker it was time for her to explore. And so off she went climbing every mountain and tree to be seen, however there was one mountain that really caught her eye, and any young girl her age would love to climb it. When she got to the top she saw a hole in the centre.

"It really is an amazing mountain!" She exclaimed,"why is this mountain much hotter then the rest?" She looked down the hole only to see bubbling orange lava. It really did look incredible but in this case that's not a good thing. Emerald ran as the lava oozed down the sides of the mountain. From nowhere a big bird swung down grabbing her by her arm and taking her away into the clouds. 

"You're mad!"screeched the bird dropping her onto the floor.

"A speaking bird?"Emerald screamed.

"I'll have you know I'm a very well spoken creature and anyway I'm not a bird!" He said

"Well what are you?"Emerald asked petrified.

"I'm a pareagawkey!" He said angrily," a parrot, eagle, macaw monkey!"

Emerald took a step back," your name is?" 

"Pepsi the Explorer!" Said the creature,"or just plain old Pepsi!"

Emerald laughed and took Pepsi over to the raft. They looked out into the distance and Emerald could have sworn she saw her house. 

That night Pepsi and Emerald discussed their adventurer name, they couldn't stick with anything.
