Chapter 1

The british isles government has set a requirement for “all major UK airports” to acquire 3D cabin baggage stability scanners by December A SINGLE, 2022.

As reported by Business Traveller earlier this holiday season, Heathrow is spending £50 zillion rolling out 3D scanning technology, as part of a trial that was running since 2017.

Plus the Department for Transport went one stage further, requiring all major GREAT BRITAIN airports to introduce the technology with the next three years.

The DfT said of which “This could mean in future passengers could possibly keep liquids and power equipment, like laptops, within their cabin baggage while it really is screened”.

It added that “Once constantly in place, the 100ml liquid limit may not anymore apply and passengers could take liquids, like a new bottle of water, via security”.

Similar three-dimensional computer tomography (CT) scanners are now being introduced at other air-ports including Chicago O’Hare Worldwide.

Restrictions on liquids available luggage at airports are working place since November 2006, following the foiling of an terrorist plot to detonate fresh explosives on several flights between england and North America.

Announcing the news Transport Admin Grant Shapps said:

“The new screening equipment will strengthen security and make your experience smoother and a lesser amount of stressful for passengers. It would also mean an end to passengers the need to use plastic bags or maybe rationing what they detract with them.

“As an outward looking global region, our transport hubs tend to be important than ever, and investing in our security infrastructure means we're investing in our nation’s future. ”

In addition, £1 million in funding is being designed to universities “seeking to carry out cutting edge research into your next generation of aviation stability solutions”.

The government said the Future Aviation Security Alternatives (FASS) programme “will carry industry and academia collectively to mentor students with enterprising ideas to create seamless movement connected with passengers and cargo within the airports of the future”.

It added that the actual Industrial PhD Partnership grants “will give rise to national security by bettering the UK’s ability to counteract terrorist attacks and could bring on the creation of new offerings that enable faster, more effective airport screening processes”.
