What is so mysterious and alluring about the night? Why is it that the soul seems to awaken at the stroke of midnight?

Midnight Musings is a collection of random thoughts brought forth by a sleep-deprived mind during the witching hours of the darkening night; expressed through poems, verses, dialogues and quotes.

Note: This is a work of fiction. If there are any similarities to situations and circumstances of real-life people, it is purely coincidental and unintentional.

I  was drifting
alone, unknown
I kept reaching
for what,
I did not know
I was empty, hollow and cold.

But, an idea was borne
from the chaos and pain 
of my mind, my soul
of someone unwhole, 
unfilled, unfulfilled
someone wanting,
searching,
for someone like me
the other half of his soul

Then, out of the blue
we meet..
two souls finding 
a voice in the void,
calling our names,
binding our souls,
filling the emptiness,
fulfilling a need, 
making two halves whole.

But fate is fickle, capricious 
and cruel,
for the promise of forever,
she holds aloft, 
unreachable, unattainable, 
tempting and tortuous...
must we then end it
and despair?

Fate may be cruel,
but Love is kind and generous
and in her arms
two souls may still
find peace..
together at last 
in the graces of Eternity
where you, my lover
will finally be mine
to have, to hold,
forevermore..
if not in truth,
then at least,
in my heart,
in my soul,
in my dreams!

Sometimes I wish

I'd never known you

Because now that I do

I can never unknow you.

You are in my music,

The language of my heart.

You are in my art,

The language of my soul.

You are in my verses,

The language of my mind.

You are

In everything that I feel

In everything that I see

In everything that I know.

How then,

Can I ever unknow you?

But more than that

You have brought

Sunshine to my rain

Joy to my sorrow

Light to my darkness

And hope to my despair

How then

Can I even wish

To have never known you?
