Hey, everything okay?

The girl turned around, looking a bit shocked.

"Yeah..everything is fine. Do I know you? "

No...to my disappointed we aren't school buddies, never went to college togeth...

"What do you want?" she asked cutting me short.

Nothing much, I just hoped may be you need a lift or something?

Peter's POV

It had been a very tiring day. It wasn't like other days were amazing but at least they were bearable.

I had worked for Ace Graphics for about 2 years but I knew I couldn't do that anymore. I wasn't a kind of a guy who could work under someone.

I never forgot to pat my back for surviving there that longer and I was damn sure my ex boss must be doing the same with his back. Quite an experience that was!

So, the day he found an employee who was ready to take orders like a cute puppy, without wasting a single moment he kicked me out.

Then out of nowhere a friend of mine came to me with a proposal to start a company of our own. And yes, we did it! Now we are on the process of recruiting people but today, even after taking interviews almost the whole day, barely got any positions filled. Some came who were completely clueless what we wanted, some were totally inexperienced and the rest were there to just boast on how magical they were.

The moment it all got over I thought of taking a quick nap but that nap got a little longer and it was 12:30 already.

While I was on the way to my home I saw this girl standing on the highway, probably thinking on whether to jump or not. That was the last thing I needed to make this day even more interesting. Of course I thought that sarcastically.

I jumped out of my car at a pace I never thought I had ever before. I was on the highway but it was completely deserted as it was 1 in the morning then.

How did this girl get here? There wasn't any car around. I was simply clueless. So, instead of bothering my mind anymore I approached her. She didn't even realise I was right behind her until I said " Hey, everything okay?", though I knew nothing was.

She turned around and looked me in the eyes. And boy was she beautiful! She took my breath away. She was lean, had brown eyes and was wearing a tank top with a pair of blue jeans.

"Yeah..everything is fine. Do I know you?" she said with a shaky voice.

If everything was okay then what the hell was she doing here at 1? Enjoying the view from the highway?

After deciding to keep my thoughts to myself, I answered jokingly, "No, to my disappointed we aren't school buddies, never went to college togeth..."

Before I could finish and fulfil my wish to see that beautiful face smiling, I heard her saying, “What do you want?" which made it clear that I was an uninvited guest and she wanted me out of her sight.

But I wasn't going to back down and leave her here alone. So, I took my chance and asked whether she wanted a lift.

"I..I..don't.. think......"

Before she could finish her sentence, my phone rang and the ringtone was enough to let me know that it was none other than my mom. I dared not to ignore it and spoke ,“Yes mom, I told you I will be running late today". "How many times do I need to repeat myself mom?  ...Yes, I am actually with a girl. I met her at the highway, standing alone. Why don't you ask it yourself?"

Her eyes were glued to me the entire time I was talking on the phone.

I gestured her to take my phone and talk to my mom.

When she didn't. I said over the phone ," She isn't interested in talking to you". And all of a sudden my phone was snatched out of my hand. I was a little surprised at her audacity but something made me smile, although I kept it in check.And she started talking, if you could even call it so.

"Hello"

"Shina"

"No"

"Yes"

"Okay"

Just five words came out of her mouth after long pauses as she was listening to my mother on the other end and the conversation was over.

In all those five words the best was Shina. That's quite a nice name, suited her personality too. To say the least, I found it cute.

She was definitely getting under my skin and I had got to know her name just freaking two minutes ago.

I was losing my mind.

She handed me my phone back. I talked to my mom and assured her that I would come back in less than half an hour.

"So, what do you say?" I said after saying goodbye to my mom.

"What do I say?"

"About the lift," I said rolling my eyes.

"Didn't your mom tell you?" she barely whispered.

"You are coming with me? To my home?" I asked shocked.

And in reply all she said was, " Yes".

I should definitely try to acquire persuasion skills of my mom. It wasn't the first time she had left me speechless.

"Okay, then lets go and by the way my name is Peter."

" I am Shina"

Oh.. I already know that, I thought and a smile automatically appeared on my face.

" It's very nice to meet you Shina."

All the way back home my eyes were busy watching the roads and I stole a few glances of the beautiful girl sitting beside me, whenever I could. Alright I admit many glances.
