Chapter 1.

Today is the day. The day my life is officially over. I've been dreading this day for 6 months. I just don't get what's so exciting about moving. Going to a new school? Meeting new friends? A new house? None of those things make me excited.

Sure, I am excited that my sister was accepted into her dream college in Herndon Virginia, but why do I have to go? I'm 16 years old. Isn't that old enough to live on my own? I pushed all of these thoughts to the back of my head.

I heard a quiet knock at the door. Alisha came in. "Good morning," she said cheerfully. "I need you to wake up, we leave for the airport in an hour." And before I knew it, we were about to land the plane.

I stared out the window. I watched as we got closer and closer and closer to the ground, knowing that once we reached the ground, there is no turning back.

Alisha tapped on my shoulder. "We are about to land! Isn't this exciting?" No. No, it's really not exciting. I drew my attention back to the window. "I know you don't want to move, but I promise you that this move will benefit both of us!"

How? How is it gonna benefit both of us. In what seemed like 30 seconds, he had landed and were in an Uber pulling up to our new house. My mouth dropped as the car stopped. The house looked like it was a 2 story house. And from the outside, it looked fancy. How did she afford this? As she left the car I followed her to the front door.

She fumbled around in her pocket looking for the right key. Once she found it, she slowly turned the lock and opened the door. Without hesitation I ran inside.

The first room I saw was the kitchen. It was very up to date with the fang stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. The walls were pulled together by dark, hardwood flooring.

Then I noticed the living room. I ran in there and dived into the white couch. My breath was taken away when I noticed the wall sized window. It reminded me of our apartment in LA, except, the view was beautiful towers that light up the night. Instead it was trees and other houses. I took a moment to chill on the couch. My pulse should never be this high. I took off my white sandals. The carpet was very soft, I could sleep in it if I had to.

"Your room is upstairs if you'd like to look."

I jolted up and ran upstairs pushing every door open until I found my room. The colors mint green, coral, grey, and white stood out to me. My bed spread was beautiful. So was my desk, my dresser, my vanity, and my chair. And so we're the decorations. My favorite had to be the fairy lights that hung all around my room. I plopped down on my bed and smiled. This room made me look Tumblr-ish. It made me feel like one of those Beauty Gurus on YouTube. I laughed at the thought.

Alisha entered my room and sat on my bed. "Do you like it." I jumped up and hugged. "It's perfect!" She hugged me back.

"Listen, my college classes are from 6 a.m to 5 p.m. And then I have to work until 11p.m." Great! I get to be home alone all day!

"Do you wanna go grab some dinner? We can pick up your drivers license on our way there if you want." Yes, I couldn't live without my license. "Have you already sent in my job application for Chickfala?" Alisha nodded. "They want to meet you tomorrow at 3 after school."

Ugh. School. That one word I definitely did NOT want to here. We both raced out to the car and headed for chipotle.

Once we entered, we quickly grabbed our seats and ordered. That's when I saw the one thing I never wanted to see.                                             _____________________________

Chapter 2.

I saw "It." I rolled my eyes and sipped on my sweet tea. "What's wrong?" I looked at her and sighed. "Turn around." She did. She started laughing.

"I didn't know he lived here! How does it feel to live where a famous person does." I looked at her.

"That's not the point," I said. "He annoys me!"

All I hear is, Jacob Sartorius did this, Jacob Sartorius did that. Blah. Blah. Blah. He's famous for nothing! He makes "funny" videos on Vine and lip syncing videos on musical.ly. Where exactly is the talent? I don't think there is any. The amount of fangirls all over the place drives me crazy!

I was snapped out of my daze when someone tapped my shoulder. It was It.

"What do you want?" I said angrily. He stepped back as if I offended him by what I said. Good. I hope I did.

"I thought you may have wanted a picture or something. You were staring at me."

Was I really? "Well, just because you think everyone loves you doesn't mean every one wants a picture with you or wants to talk to you."

"Sorry. See you around." He started walking off and back to his table. Once he sat down he started laughing. Ugh. I looked up to notice Alisha with crossed arms. "That was pretty cold, Ashly." I shrugged. "Well, he is annoying."

She remained sitting with crossed arms. I always hated it when she tried to act like a mom. I liked it better when she acts like a goofy 20 year old.

We both finished our meals. "I'm getting a refill," I said. I was walked and then, "BAM!!"

"Oh my gosh! What where your going!" I looked down at my used to be white t-shirt that was covered in coke. "I'm so sorry." He went and grabbed some napkins. "You may want to use these."

I snatched the napkins from him and tried fixing my shirt, it was no use. "Do you want some help?" I glared at me. "You try to help me and I'll break your hands off." He stepped back. "Sorry," he said while laughing.

I gave up on saving my shirt. It was stained. It started pulling off his sweatshirt. "Here wear this." I jumped back. "Ew! I'm not wearing your sweatshirt!" He frowned. "Do you want to walk around with a coke stain on your shirt?" No. I don't. But there is NO way I'm wearing that thing.

"And why would I wear it?" He sighed. "Please, it will make me feel better."

I sighed and crossed my arms. "I don't care about your feelings," I said, wanting to laugh at my comment.

"Please?" He asked again. Okay, he broke me. "Will you leave me alone if I do?" He nodded with a smile. I slipped on the sweatshirt.

"Thanks," I mumbled under my breath. "Your welcome." He flashed a quick smile. "How are you supposed to get this back?" I asked. "Just keep it, I have plenty." And then he was gone.

I walked back to our table. Alisha had no clue what just happened. She looked up from her phone, seeing me with wet hair and a sweatshirt. "Don't ask," I said. "Let's go."

After we picked up my license and came home, I jumped in the shower making sure to get off all of the coke and cologne from Its sweatshirt.

After my shower, I jumped into my super soft bed and turned on musically. And guess what? Jacob, no, It, popped up on my screen. He is everywhere! I rolled my eyes and threw my phone to the end of my bed. I rolled over and without any hesitation, I fell asleep.       ____________________________

Chapter 3.

 "Beep! Beep! Beep!"

My eyes flew open. I slapped my phone until it stopped ringing. My eyes felt so heavy. The urge to close them was strong, but I resisted the temptation. Besides, I didn't want to be late on my first day of school. School. I cringed at the thought of having to meet new people.

I jumped out from my bed and gazed out my window. It was nice sunny day. Slowly I limped over to my closet and looked for a good outfit. Usually I would ask my sister what I should wear, but she had already started classes so I couldn't.

After standing in my closet for 10 minutes I pulled down a white t-shirt that says, "coffee" on it and some jean shorts. Not fancy, not simple. It was perfect. Quickly I slippped them on and headed to my bathroom to get ready. I curled my hair with a curling wand and then started my makeup.

I stared at my makeup box, all nice and neatly organized. I wonder what it will look like by the end of the week? I applied some foundation which I didn't need thanks to my acne free skin. Then I applied 3 thick coats of Revelon mascara to my eye lashes, which, like foundation, I didn't need it. I guess it just helps boosts my self confidence.

Carefully, I applied some eyeshadow onto my lids and evenly blended it all out. After makeup, I brushed my teeth. After having braces on for 2 years and having my teeth whitened, I was never ashamed to hide my smile. In fact, at my old school people called me the "million dollar smile." It didn't bother me though. Jacob, It, I mean, popped into my head. People say he has a million dollar smile. (Which I'm not gonna lie, he kinda does.)

Quickly I grabbed some Bath and Body Works perfume and sprayed it all over me. I have one last look in the mirror and headed downstairs. I grabbed my keys and my bag along with a breakfast bar and I headed out towards my car.

Luckily the GPS took me directly to my school and I didn't end up getting lost.

As I approached the school I could feel a very bad anxiety attack coming. I tried to remain calm and open the doors to the school, but every time I would end up letting go of the handle. As I stood there, probably looking stupid, someone walked in front of me and held the door open.

I glanced at their face. It was It. He had a smile on his face. I just ignored him and walked into the school. Then it struck me. It goes to my school. So, I'm going to have to deal with It all year.

Everyone in the hallway seemed to notice me. Was I really that easy to point out. I needed to go to the office to pick up my schedule. I don't know where the office is. I looked around the hallway looking for someone I could ask. There was It, but I could ask him. Instead I asked this one kid. "Yea, its down that hall to the left," he said. I smiled and said thanks.

Out of the corner of my eyes I noticed Jacob watching me as I talked to the kid.

Once I reached the office, a lady with brown hair greeted me. "Hello! How may I help you?" My hands were shaking. The anxiety was kicking in. "Um, I'm new here and I need my schedule." She made a weird clicking sound with her mouth and then sat down at her computer. "What's your name?"

"Ashly Mills." Why was I being so nervous? "Here you go," she said. "Have a nice day!"

I took my schedule from her and looked over it. Suddenly, the bell rang and the halls began to get quiet. That's when I realized I had no idea where I was supposed to go. I felt a tap on my shoulder. "Are you lost?" It asked. I looked at him and rolled my eyes. "Can't you just leave me alone," I said. He shrugged and smiled. "I could but..." I inturpueted him, "Bye," I said while walking off. In the corner of my eye I saw hums smirking. And for some reason, a smile popped up on my face.

He just stood there watching me walk off.

I finally found my class, I was 5 minutes late. The whole classroom was shaking with talking teens. Hopefully they wouldn't notice me as I walk in. I took a deep breath and twisted the door open. The teacher saw me and walked up to me with a smile. "Hey! You must be Ashly!" I smiled.

She clapped her hands. "Class! Settle down! This our new student, Ashly Mills. Would you like to introduce yourself?" None of the kids seemed to be paying attention, but, whatever.

"Hi, I'm Ashly, I'm originally from LA. And yeah." The class went back to talking. "Okay, let's see where I'm going to put you."

She scanned the classroom. Each desk had a desk attached to it, so it was like pairs. "Let's put you with," she was in deep thought. "Here, sit next to Jacob. Jacob, raise your hand so Ashly knows who you are."

A hand flew up in he air and the person turned around. It was It. My heard dropped to the floor when I saw his face. Out of all of the kids in here, you had to pair me with Jacob?

I took my seat and avoided eye contact. "Do you still have my sweatshirt?" I locked my eyes on the whiteboard ahead. "Don't talk to me." Out of the corner of my eye I saw him smirk a little. What was his problem?

Class went by very fast, luckily. When the bell rang I grabbed my schedule and threw my backpack on and headed for the door. It stopped me though. "Let me show you to your next class so you won't be late."

I stepped back from him. He was trying to be nice, but it was super annoying. "I'm fine, I don't want you to be late." I almost choked on what I just said. He started to laugh. "Wow! That's the nicest thing you've ever said to me." I crossed my arms and rolls my eyes. "I don't mean it, I'm just trying to get rid of you."

He started laughing again. "Well, see ya around." I shake my head. "No you won't," I said while walking away. Once again, he smirked a little.

2nd through 4th period went by fast. I have lunch 5th period. Once the bell rang, I walked to the cafeteria. (It was easy to spot the cafeteria.)

As I entered the cafeteria I looked at all of the people. Nearly every table was full. Everyone was in a huge group of friends. This thought saddened me. I instantly thought of my friends from LA and how I would more than likely be eating lunch alone.

I pushed the negative thoughts into the back of my mind. I entered the long lunch line. The only THAT that caught my eye was the pizza. I grabbed me a slice of that and then noticed that Jacob was behind me getting his food. He didn't say anything to me though.

After I payed for my meal, I awkwardly sat next to these three girls. None of them seemed to pay me any attention. Suddenly, I saw It coming to the table. It sat down next to me. "Hey," he said. I stood up and opened my water bottle, and then I dumped it on Its head and left the room. He made a loud "gasping" sound and it made me kinda feel bad for what I did.

Was I being a little to hard on him? Guilt rushed over me. No. Don't feel bad Ashly! He deserved it!

The rest of the day went by pretty fast even though It was in my last 2 classes. Gladly, I ran out to my car and drove home.                                               _____________________________
