The Start

On a small hill in Denver lived a boy named Jason Decker who was known for his kind heart and bravery.  He didn't let any bullies win a fight or take him down, but he didn't know what he would have to deal with at his new school.  Jason was very excited to go to middle school though, and nothing was going to stop him from having the best sixth grade school year.  Well, except for the three bullies, Kyra, Jaylon, and Keaton.  These girls were very tough because they took karate classes ever since they were five years old.

"Wake Up," Said Jason's mother patting him on the arm.

"Okay," said Jason.  He quickly got up and got in the shower, got dressed, and brushed his teeth.  "Nothing is going to ruin this day!" he exclaimed.  He quickly ran over to the door and put his shoes on one at a time and leaped outside.

After he walked to school, Jason went inside to explore the building.  He saw pictures of the students who were nominated for sports awards and such hanging on the wall.  He walked some more and found out that his school had five water fountains and two lunch rooms.  "Wow!" he exclaimed.  "I haven't seen a school with this many water fountains before."

After he was finally done looking around the school, he decided to try to find his classroom.  His first subject was English.  When he found his room, he decided to walk inside.  There was twenty-three people in his class.  That included him of course.

He sat beside a boy with long dark brown hair.  "Hello," the boy said looking at Jason.

     "Hi," said Jason.

"How are you?" asked the little boy.  "My name is Jonas Murphy."

"Well," said Jason.  "That is a wonderful name."  "My name is Jason Decker."  Jonas looked at Jason for a moment then laughed.

"Our names sound like twin names." Jonas said.

"Yeah, they kinda do," said Jason laughing.

"So, do you know our teacher is kinda mean and rude?" asked Jonas.

     "No," Jason said.

     "Well, she is," said Jonas.

"How is she rude?" asked Jason.

"Well, she says that we can't amount to anything," Jonas said.  "That is why she is labeled baddest teacher in Delmont Middle."

"Oh," Jason said watching the door.

"Why are you watching the door?" asked Jonas.

"I am waiting for her to come into the classroom," said Jonas.

"Well, she doesn't come in when someone's watching her," said Jonas.  Jason then turned his head away from the door and started getting his notebook out.  After that very moment, the class got really silent as they watched a heavyset woman walk through the door with a smirk on her face.

The Baddest Teacher In Delmont Middle School

"Is that her?" asked Jason looking at Jonas.  Jonas nodded then looked away.

"Good morning," the teacher said grabbing a marker from a storage box.  "Today we are going to do a little review on compound sentences."

"Cool dude," said a boy in the back row.

"Who was that?" the teacher asked.

"It was me," the boy admitted.

"Well, Erick," the teacher said pointing at him.  "How would you like a detention slip since you are so obnoxious?"  Erick shrugged his shoulders and sighed.  The teacher got out her booklet of slips and said "If I don't like you, want you, or think you are obnoxious, I will give you a slip at the end of class."

"Is she always like this?" Jason asked.

     "Yes," Jonas answered.

After the class ended, Jonas grabbed Jason's arm and said "Watch out for the triplets at lunch time."

"What do you mean?" Jason asked looking worried.

"Well, they can be very mean and well, as the first period teacher says, obnoxious," Jonas said.

"Well, how are they obnoxious?" Jason asked.

"Man, you ask a lot of questions," Jonas said.  "Let's just say that they put a lot of the students they've went to school with in hospitals."  Jason looked at him and quivered.

"Okay," Jason said looking at his watch.  "I need to head to science class."

"Okay," said Jonas.  "See you when we have another class together."

"I will," said Jason walking down the hallway to the science lab.

Second Period

When Jason walked through the door, everyone became very quiet.

"Hey dude," a girl said from the third row.  "What's your business here?"

"Jaylon," the teacher said.  "Don't be picking on our new student."  Jason looked over at her and saw that she had two girls sitting with her.

     "Oh, no," Jason said.

"Come on Jason," the teacher said.  "Come and tell the class about yourself."  Jason walked to the board and looked at the class in discomfort.  He saw that Jaylon was smirking and waiting for something to be said.

Jason closed his eyes and said "Hello everyone, my name is Jason Ray Decker, and my dad owns a pig farm."  Everyone in the class started laughing.

"Hey, hey," the teacher yelled.  "Please let him finish telling you about his dad's pig farm."  The class started giggling again.

"I don't want to talk about anything anymore," Jason said sitting down at his wooden desk.  The teacher looked at Jason and saw that he was crying.  What the teacher didn't realize was that Jason has a very dark past.

Looking up at his book the teacher began talking "I want to have a discussion with all of you about what it is like to be Jason right now."  "He probably feels like he has been embarrassed because you all were laughing at him just because he said that his dad owns a pig farm."

"I heard that pigs run around in mud and poop everywhere," a girl said in the back row.

"Tori, that was not funny," the teacher said.  "You've just earned yourself a trip to the principals office."  He walked over to her desk and gave her a detention slip.  "You've also earned yourself detention."  The teacher went back to his desk and got out a science book and handed it to Jason.  "If anyone gives you any trouble," the teacher said.  "Send them my way."

"I will," said Jason while looking through his book.
