Chapter 1

PEARL (Summer 2012)

What does it take to acquire a pearl?

You have to travel to the ocean.

You have to dive so many times and pick so many shells before you find the one with the pearl inside.

You have to open the shell to get your hands on the treasure.

Of course you can buy that pearl but you still need to work hard to earn enough money for such a purchase.

NOW YOU HAVE IT. NOW, WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH IT?

You can turn it into jewellery and wear in public. Let everybody see your treasure and be proud of it. Well, you also would have be in possession of other things that go with such jewellery.

You can put it into beautiful casket in your house and you would open the casket every day to admire your pearl. You do not need to own much for that. Only have to love the pearl.

You can hide it in your vault and attend to it only once in a big while: it would be enough for you to know that you own the treasure. But the next time you come you might find the pearl gone very dim.

You can simply put it into your drawer and forget about it. Because you liked the journey more than you like the pearl. You might never remember next time where you placed it - that is if you care at all.

DO YOU KNOW THE TRUTH?

There is a chance that you will not have it tomorrow in any case. The pearl might be stolen or lost because of your carelessness. THAT'S WHY YOU DID NOT GO FOR IT IN THE FIRST PLACE.

BLUE BIRD (Autumn 2012)

The Blue Bird lives in your house.

You hunted her, caged her and tamed her – she is there for you every day pleasing your ear and eye.

The Blue Bird lives in your house day after day and you take it for granted.

That is so funny: you have the Blue Bird in your house and you’re searching the point of life…  You feel there are things out there that you have not yet hunted and caged.  You reply with a moan and cry to the magical song of Blue Bird...

Did you know that the point of life is not a bird or a beast to hunt – it’s a rainbow.

You run after rainbow believing to catch it one day… You know that is crazy and foolish but your rainbowless cage saddens you more every day.

You’re having the Blue Bird in cage and forgetting to feed her because you are chasing the rainbow that needn't be fed but that cannot be caught.  You are starving the Blue Bird in cage. She is singing no more. She is dying. ..

… but when she dies or – if she is lucky – escapes, you will blame the Blue Bird for silence in your birdless and rainbowless house…
