Introduction

Let's get one thing clear. It wasn't a baby. It was a demon.

"Excuse me, Ma'am, when is it going to be my fucking turn? I've been sitting here for a goddamn hour already."

"Chill, Baby. You're making a scene."

"Don't tell me to 'chill', Mother Fucker. You're the reason I'm in this mess."

"Ma'am, I'm going to ask you to keep your voice down. We have a busy day. Your name will be called when it's your turn."

"Yeah, well y'all need to hurry the hell up."

"I'm not going anywhere," it whispered from inside.

"The hell you're not," she spewed in return.

"I'll be right here, destroying you."

"Fuck. Miss, excuse me, Miss!"

"Listen, we are here to help you, okay? But you have to calm down. You have to lower your voice."

"I need it out. Now. Do you understand me? Now."

"Come on, we're almost up. The room is emptying out. See, Baby? Relax."

"We? We are not almost anything, Mother Fucker. And don't you dare tell me to relax."

"Man, whatever."

"Relax," it said with a laugh.

"We're both going to be just fine," it said with a laugh.

"You'll always have me and I will always have you, Mommy," it said with a laugh.

"Fuck you," she cried.

"You fucked Daddy and now you get me," it said sweetly.

"I will kill you," it said sweetly.

"Don't worry. I will pretend to love you first," it said sweetly.

"Raina, Raina Deets," the voice finally called.

"Even if you get rid of my body, you'll never kill my voice. You know that, right?" it asked.

"I will haunt you forever," it informed.

"Please," she cried.

"Don't do it," it warned.

She stood.

The blood ran down her leg, slowly at first, then rushed a mighty river of gushing demon.

"Oh shit! Baby, you're bleeding!"

"Oh my, Mrs. Deets! We need a nurse here!"

She looked down.

She smiled.

"Wait, no, please no, wait!" it cried.

"You do not win. You never have and you never will. Your death gives me nothing but strength. And you can take your goddamn voice with you. I have no need for it or you. You do not win. I win."

"Please, wait..." it cried faintly.

It was gone.
