 Isolated Envy

Deep down below, a place where isolation lies grew and grew. The life of Daniel could never be changed again. He would wait...and wait. He was waiting for the snow.

On a summer’s day, 15 year old Daniel lived I. his house. The sky was clear blue and the sun gleamed down on the ground. But he would rather cast a weather spell to be rainy. He adored nights but in August, the sun would only go down when he fell asleep at 9PM. One day, he was in his room full of isolated envy. Wishing there was a way to love sunny days. Then, he suddenly saw great big cracks of yellow light appearing. It was like molten lava was about the burn on him. All he could see outside his window was yellow. “Help! Help! Someone help me!” He screamed banging on the door which was locked.

Then, we woke up with his mother reassuring him while he gets back to his senses. He sat there shaking rapidly. There weren’t any cracks. Was it all a dream?

The Possession

It was a rainy day and Daniel was upbeat. the sky was grey and dark. He heard that night was quickly occurring earlier. Until, a few moments later, he felt so earning in his stomach harden. Daniel went to the toilet, but nothing happened. His brother, Adrian, decide to help him with a therapist a couple of days before. Then, he noticed that his nails were slightly longer. He shrugged it off an went to sleep in his bed.

One hour later, he felt extreme pain everywhere. His nails were , much longer than a normal nail. “Why do I have such long nails and...argh! Pain!” He screeched. His toenails were long as his fingernails as well. Then, the worst thing happened. There was a cut on his stomach and the blood began to turn yellow and more crevices started forming. The hole was the size of his body and a flaming sun came falling into it. His eyes began to turn red. Daniel turned to look outside. The sky was clearing. “Not again!” He shouted. Adrian came rushing in to find him toying with himself. “Dude, what the hell are you doing?!”

He woke up and saw Adrian standing over him. “What happened?” Daniel asked him shaking. “You were toying with yourself!” He said.

Atmokinesis

Over the next few days, Daniel continued to have these “events” while everyone had their eyes on him. He then decided that he would clutch the abilities of Atmokinesis - the ability to control weather. One day, Daniel discovered something miraculous and terrifying.

On a windy dark day, Daniel was imagining controlling the weather until something came out his hands. It was a bluish, lanky stem lunging towards the sky. It began to turn white. Everyone dashed into the garden where he was performing. “What is going on?!” His sister, Venus, asked in terror. Then, Daniel noticed a bucket along with one of his enemies. He then poured a bucket of slime all over him. Everyone gasped while he stood there stationary. He turned around to find his enemy and his family staring at him. Daniel grew more angry and enraged. He then, screamed and lightning shot out his hands into the sky. Thunder and lightning was occurring while water burst through the wall surrounding the home town.

I Shook The Devil’s Hand

Clouds began to swirl around like a hurricane. The centre of the eye was filling up with a tornado which then picked up the water. It swirled like mad and thrust it into one of the shops and was demolished. His nails were growing again. Then, the sun began to peak out. He roared at it and it went out...

Darkness began to take over the Earth and coldness began to spread. He headed into the town we’re others were running away. A woman noticed him. “What have you done, Daniel?!” She cried out, but he didn’t take any notice and froze the woman. Daniel’s father grabbed hold of him. “You will stop this RIGHT NOW!” He shouted at him. Then, the father’s hand began to turn blue. He then felt pain. Dan then shot icy elements from his hand into his heart. He grasped for air but laid there on the ground. He then spared the rest of his family.

Dan then got bigger and bigger. The silhouette covered the entire town while he summoned a gargantuan fire tornado which burned people to death including his enemy. A part of fire caught onto a gracing lady who then died while her skin was all black. Dan roared again and a gush of wind separated the cement and the buildings. He then breathed a huge sigh and jagged ice hot down onto the ground crushing people. The entire town was then becoming covered with snow and ice. Daniel then crawled down and he teeth began to sharpen.

Dan rapidly started shredding the town like a power saw activated. The winter moon began to brighten. Then, he summoned a volcano like it wasn’t enough. It blew up giving a shock wave all over the entire county. One of his other enemies was determined to run over him. He sped up, but was squashed and crushed by Dan’s foot killing him instantly. His blood bursted out the car. He returned to normal size and headed home leaving the car to explode.

Realisation

Back at home, his mother waited for him. She looked bloodshot and wet. “Mom...” Dan said nervously. Grace, his mother, pulled out a pocket knife and ripped the table with it. She started writing: YOU SHOOK THE DEVIL’S HAND. YOUR SIN FOUND YOU. Adrian appeared and glared at him. Dan got angry and used his hands to freeze his neck while he died. Grace bent down to him with tears running onto his face. She then got up and gave Dan a dirty look. “How dare you kill my son...” Grace said sternly. “Thou shall be killed while you, Satan, shall restore my child to normal and let sun into his body.” She said madly. “Mom, stop! It’s not the devil. Other people can do it cause I read about it idiot!” He replied angrily. She then stabbed him in the shoulder.

“The Devil never dies, Daniel. It’s the only way.” She replied calmly. Dan got back up and began to change. His nails grew. Horns grew and a tail began to form. Dan was a special person and rare too. It wasn’t the devil, but he looked alike. “Aargh!” Grace screamed at lunged for him. Flames burst out his mouth along with knifes. He went back to normal watching his mother’s death on the wall. She looked like the new Jesus Christ. Then, Daniel realised what he had to do next...

Prayers Come To Rest In Peace

Gareth was one of Adrian’s friends. He rushed over to the house while it began to tumble due to the flames which caught fire on the walls. “Dan! What’s going on?!” Daniel looked over and was about to kill him, but stopped. “I must...to stop this happening again.” He said weakly. He then began to recite one of his mother’s prayers:

“And God made Eve from the river then

He was weak and let loose the raven upon the world

The first sin was menstrual period

Eve was weak”

Gareth just looked at him confused. The house was beginning to tumble. “Quick! Let’s get out!” He said holding his hand out.

“I must not after what I have down to this world. More people will keep dying and the Earth shall be ruined and abandoned.” He replied contently. He used his ice power to spare Gareth who then viewed the house explode. “So should I ever be released again. For the cold days go on.” Dan said. He then began to revive the sun again, but didn’t shine since it was nighttime. “I am still waiting for the winter. I am still waiting for the snow...” He said croaking. These were his last words. The home then exploded leaving smoke and dust everywhere.

Waiting For The Snow

3 months passed and snow was becoming more often than sun. Then, one day, Gareth visited Dan’s grave. Everyone knew he had killed himself after what he did. Strangely, the town was all in contact. Some citizens say that the ghost of Daniel rebuilt it all. While some say it’s good luck.

Gareth then was in a tranquil field with no one else. He looked next to him to find Dan sitting there too. He looked back and smiled. The rain fell on Gary while it went through Dan. Gary stood up wandering the place. He looked behind him to find no one there. His once friend was gone. He then heard someone singing.

“I’m waiting for the snow

I’m waiting for a vision

So I can feel brighter

I can feel lighter

I used to make mountains

But then they grew bigger than me

I thought that I'd climb my way up high

But what if I tumble?

Have I said too much?

Did I love too hard?

This steel can't carry me now that things are rough”
