Snow!

“Georgia!” My older sister Leah yelled as she violently shook me while I was sleeping. Can’t she see I’m trying to get my beauty sleep? “What the hell do you want?” I groaned while throwing my pillow in her face. “It’s the last day of school before the break.” She said hitting me back with my pillow. “Okay so?” I said as I turned my head the other way trying to sleep again. She ripped off my blankets. I was freezing. I had enough of her bs this morning so I finally got up and started cussing at her. My mom came up the stairs shortly after. “Uh oh you’re in trouble!” Leah said smiling. I pushed her out of my room as my mom came in my room. “Hey! That’s sexual abuse!” Leah yelled from outside my door. “Okay, enough Leah.” My mom said. “Can Leah move into the basement?” I asked. “No.” My mom said without a hesitation or even explaining why. “But mom, she’s so annoying!” I whined. “You should be used to it by now. You’ve known her for 14 years.” She said as she picked up my blankets on the ground. “Now get ready.” She said crossing her arms over her chest looking at me. “It’s pyjama day on the last day before winter break.” I said. “Oh. Well come down for breakfast.” She said as she left.” I followed behind her downstairs. Leah tapped me on the shoulder. I turned around. “You still have pyjama day?” She asked. “Yeah.” I responded back. “I go to the same school as you though.” She said. “But you’re in grade 10. I’m in grade 9.” I said. “But grade 9 is so old for that sh*t.” She said. “Well what can I do?” I asked her as I poured myself a glass of OJ. Leah got chocolate milk (she’s obsessed). My mom passed me and Leah’s plates of delicious crepes. “Sweet mamma Jesus.” Leah said getting her fork and knife ready to dig in. I giggled. “Where’s Austin?” I asked my mom while cutting a piece of the crepe. “He left early.” Mom said. Austin is my brother who is in university. We don’t really see him that much like we used to (when he was younger). But he is really good at giving advice. He understands my problems. Leah on the other hand would just laugh at my face. And my mom would also understand but I didn’t want to stress her out back then. She was already dealing with the loss of a loved one (my grandma) and she got laid off from her job. Did I mention that she’s also a single mother? My dad left for some rich girl (I don’t think he is using her though) so my mom has to take care of three teenagers. Yikes. Maybe I should stop giving her a hard time. I finished my crepe and put the dishes in the dishwasher. Leah stood up and put her dishes in the sink. “Leah what did I tell about putting it in the sink? We have a dishwasher for a reason.” She said to Leah. Leah rolled her eyes and put her dishes in the dishwasher. I went back upstairs to brush my hair and check my social media. Leah tagged me in a post in Instagram. I clicked on the post. She had posted an embarrassing clip of me crying at ikea because I peed all over myself. Great. Now all of her friends saw that. She’s also a popular girl at our school. She has 1k followers on Instagram. I commented “delete rn!” on her post. I put my phone down to go brush my teeth. After that, I got my phone and went to school in my onesie with Leah. “Leah. Delete that post on insta or I will post something that’s even more embarrassing.” I threatened Leah. “I don’t care. Post all you want. And no, I’m not gonna delete it.” She said. I let out a big sigh. We reached our school after 5 minutes. It was snowing when we got there. Big fluffy snowflakes falling on my checks. I walked over to my friends Harper, Emily and Zoe. They were all talking about our sleepover tonight. “Hey guys I said.” “Hey Georgie!” Harper said. “Leah’s a big pain in the a**.” I said turning my head to Leah. “Ha.” Emily said. “How do you feel about the snow?” I asked Zoe. “I hate it. It’s so much better in Jamaica.” She said looking up at the sky. I chuckled. “I’m so excited.” I said. “For what? The sing along?” Emily said. “Wait what?” I said shocked. “Yeah we have one every year. For Christmas.” Harper said. “Dang it.” I said.
