Speechless Love

Introduction

It had been so hot and humid for weeks now and all I wanted it to do was rain. I am a 40 year old woman who only wants to sweat if it involves worthwhile sex, not the kind of sex that you think you would of been better off just dreaming or reading about it. Anyway I gave up on love a few years ago when yet again I was cheated on and even though I new in my gut it was happening, I couldn't let it penetrate my heart. Every word out of his mouth was a lie, I was tired of carrying the weight of the chains of distrust, so I decided to trust him and free myself but the cost of that was he shagged anything that moved at work and I didn't find out until we had already been separated for 6 months. It still hurt but I was stronger and I wanted some time out just for me, somewhere to grieve for all the crap relationships I'd been in and all the decent guys I'd turned down because I didn't think I was good enough. I know, I'll book a holiday, somewhere cool away from this dead heat, somewhere I can breathe and not be oppressed by everything and everyone around me.

Chapter 1

Sitting on a steam train, looking out of the window at lush green hills and snow peaked mountains, thank god for that, no more heat. I always thought steam trains are the most romantic way to travel and I was right. I am surrounded by couples everywhere and now feel even lonelier than when I started. Next time I'll bloody swim here then the single fish can accompany me.

Hidden Smile

I arrive at my cabin in the woods, high up on a mountain, showered and refreshed I sit outside wrapped in a blanket drinking my coffee when I see something on the floor. I get up and start running towards it, wrapped in a rug is a man, blood and teeth marks in his head. I run back in to get my phone, no signal, no landline...SHIT!!!! I go back to him and remember my first aid training (I think) and he isn't badly injured. I bring a put you up bed outside and pull him onto it, wrap him up and clean his head wound. He sleeps for 24 hours. When he finally wakes, he just smiles at me and I have to say I was so relieved. I had been so scared that this stranger would die on me or kill me in my sleep. Improvement on last man either way.
