no offense but fuck you and your bad poetry that led me
to kissing you with an entire ocean inside our mouths,
the songs you played in your car were all about war
and you reminded me over and over again,
about how ugly war is
& it could swallow the earth-- i know, i know.
but boy there was a war inside me seconds after you licked
your lips as you carefully removed my seatbelt
"this is dangerous"
i could taste the shaking of your throat

i was anxious about how you perfectly placed your hands
on my body as if you've been here before,
i wondered if you knew this body is different from the
last one you've touched. why did my body move along
with you it felt like i was leaking,
my soul begged the skies for longer kisses
and told me that it would be a good idea to stay.

so i asked my ghosts to let me live freely for a while
darling, why did it felt so quiet when we were kissing?
i swear i could hear my chest screaming.
