Introduction

There is a parable in the book of Luke, where a fig tree had not produced fruit in three years, and it was going to be cut down, but the man who took care of the vineyard pleaded that it would be spared for one more year. The man would look after the tree, fertilize it and give it one more year. Through our life, we will have our years, where we do not produce fruit, we will have our seasons of adversity, and we will be challenged to grow. Growing is never fun, but the results at the end of the process are fascinating.
