Prologue Part I : Brothers

Year_ 2015; Location_ Atlanta.GA; User(s)_ Aeneas.S | Jason.S;

"Lock the doors!" Jason screamed; the words were hard to comprehend through the fear, but Aeneas did his best to do as he said.

"You think a wooden doors gonna do crap against those... those... things..."

"Anything we do will help right about now."

After running inside, Jason and Aeneas felt no safer than they did outside. It was a war zone, bodies were dropping everywhere they had turned, Haygood Avenue looked like the site of a mass execution, it had terrified them both.

Jason led Aeneas into the kitchen, but they were still very much in danger.

Both breathing heavily, they tried to calm down their racing pulses long enough to think of an escape plan.

Aeneas, with a surprised look on his face, looked at Jason; "J? J, where's mom?"

Both Jason and Aeneas looked at each other in fear... Jason called back, while already halfway near the stairs, "Upstairs, Now...!"

They ran, taking the stairs two at a time, as fast as their legs could carry them. The door to their moms room was closed, Aeneas grabbed the handle, turning it.

"Locked..."

They needed to get inside. They needed to get to their mom... Aeneas was still trying the knob when the heard their mom scream...

"We don't have time, I'm kicking it down." Placing his left foot firmly on he wood laden floor, Jason kicked with his right foot using as much power as he could muster.

The sole of his foot made contact an inch near the knob, swinging the door open with all the force of a wrecking ball. The inside was completely rummaged, a hole through the wall and screams of the victims outside piercing through their ears.

Their mother Kate, in all her beauty, with soft blonde hair flowing over her shoulder, a lovely black dress on preparing for both their birthdays. The woman that loved Jason and Aeneas with all her heart, pinned to the wall by the neck, chocked by one of the monsters that were, at the very moment, killing thousands other innocents on the streets of Peoplestown.

Standing at about six and a half feet in height, the monstrous atrocity was frightening to say the least. The monster was clad in grimy black, metallic armor; with a helmet that was equally black. The helmet allowed for 4 eye slits; 2 at the regular position, and 2 directly an inch below each. The only exposed skin were at small crevices in the armor, and at every turn the monster made sounds as if it were croaking, like a bullfrog; a huge monster bullfrog. But whatever this creatures is, it definitely ain't human.

Although they were both frozen with fear, Jason was the first to snap out of it and act; he charged the monster with an enraged scream. The enthusiasm in him was crushed with a back hand to his face, this sent Jason hurtling through the room, crashing into the mirror.

Aeneas prayed to god that his brother survived. Now sensing what's at stake, he reached for the nearest weapon; a sculpting knife on the desk, Kate had used this for her various art projects. The blade was tiny, but it was all he had.It was damn near useless, it wouldn't even scratch that armor. Need to play this smart, gotta aim for the skin.

Aeneas followed suite, but he learned from his brothers mistake; the moment the monster swept his arm along the air, Aeneas ducked down and rolled; Straightening up with a jump, he grabbed onto the monster and plunged the tiny blade into the invaders eye slit.

A scream of anguish came from the creature, but Aeneas was soon to feel that pain too. Enraged, it grabbed Aeneas by the neck with his free hand, while still pinning their mother to the wall, and hurtled Aeneas through the room, out the door, making him slam against wall outside the door.

Dizzy and confused, Aeneas tried to focus. A few seconds it took him to regain proper eye sight. Move, make sure nothings broken. Aeneas moved his arms and legs slightly, turned his neck and raised his head, feeling that nothing was seriously injured, Aeneas felt a slight shimmer of relief; that shimmer floated away from his grasp the moment he saw what the creture had done. Crap, need to do something... The monster had thrown their mother like a ragdoll, straight through the bathroom door.

Aeneas felt like death. Looks like I'm about to meet her in person anyways... There had to be something he could do, anything to save his brother and his mother. Nothing short of a miracle can save me now.

And that's exactly what he got.

When the creature was barely a foot from Aeneas, he found what he was looking for. Jason... Jason had sneaked up on the monster, jumped onto it from behind and began strangling it with the curtain tie-backs he got from theirs mom's room.

"Aeneas," Jason called, "I'm dragging him down, do whatever you can to him... We only got one chance."

Before I could respond, Jason, while still clinging onto its back, jumped and planted his feet on It's upper-back. Jumping again, he kicked the monster as hard as he could at the small of its back, knocking him down in the process.

No time to waste, just act. The moment Jason's feet came into contact with It, Aeneas was already on top of it. Aeneas in all his rage, began pummelling the monster in the face. He felt his bones fracture, veins pop, and his skin peel off his knuckles. Even through the excruciating pain, he did not stop.

Switching strategies, Aeneas reached for the crevices on its chest plate. Digging his finger's through it, he started to pull; surging with adrenaline, he gave it his all, with one final pull the entire chest plate came off.

The inside was no more prettier than the outside, it was almost uglier. Grabbing the Sculpting knife out of its eye, Aeneas stabbed it into it's chest, and dragged it along horizontally. The monster was screaming in pain as It was dissected. Aeneas, showing no mercy, dug into its veins and arteries, and pulled.

Jason watched in horror as his brother slaughtered the creature, although he too felt no remorse or pity. Hardening his nerves, Jason excepted the fact that they had to kill to survive; Be it alien, or human... With all his resolve, Jason tugged on the rope harder.

After a minute of fury and rage, the monster had finally died, died in the most agonizing way possible. Both brothers now on their feet, leaned against the wall catching their breath. They were, the both of them, drenched in the Alien's Murky brown blood; from head to toe, they smelled like rusty iron.

The blood on their skin burned, but only slightly. As if lathered with highly diluted acid; they bared the pain and continued.

"J... Mom's still down, we need to get her out of the house..." Said Aeneas, looking at his older brother.

"I know. But the whole town's overrun, where the hell can we take her?" Jason began to feel the fear creeping up his throat, he was never the bravest kid on the block.

"The park?" Aeneas quipped.

"The park...? You want to be out in the open...?" Now Jason could feel nothing but dread.

"We could hide in the locker rooms, long enough till these things go away..."

Jason hated being so negative, but in his mind he was only being logical. "What if they don't?" Aeneas looked his brother in the eye, grabbed his shoulder, and said, "They will, and if they don't, we'll take them down one by one."

Jason with his spirit lifted, gave Aeneas a small smile and a nod.

We're all getting out of here safely, I swear we will.
