Hidden Truths

Birds chirping at 6:30, could there be a more..... annoying noise to wake up to on a Monday morning.

Especially on your first day at a new school.

Before I continue I should probably introduce myself. Im Alex McCall.

Im 15 and starting a new school which means new people, new places and new people to annoy me to death. Im living in Bloomington Indiana with my parents and I moved here from Manchester, England, hense the English accent and pale skin.

My dads job moved so we had to go with them if we wanted to keep living basically. I haven't moved a lot before the only time i can remember moving is from my birth place Sheffield at the age of 10. It was easier to make friends at a young age but now im 15, im practically a quarter dead and I have no clue what to do or say.

Im an only child and my parents are (most the time) happily married. Im closer with my mum because i tell her more about my personal life and keep her informed basically. My dad however, don't get me wrong hes a good guy just makes jokes 24/7 which isn't all bad I guess. Can get annoying.

My new house is decent. We live in a two story house with a lake and forest in the back garden. Its a small town and from what ive experienced over the summer is that there is a good vibe in this area. Hopefully I'll like it.

I get up and open my window and smell the fresh air... then look at my room and think. Shit. I should probably clean that.... later. Yeah I'll do it later.

Shower time.

After im dry I rummage through my wardrobe to try find something decent to wear on my first day. Im going for a cool and casual look. Aha here we go. I wear a white t-shirt with a checkered blue and black shirt over it, black skinny jeans, braided bracelet my friend Chloe gave me before i left and and black hightop sneakers. I like to spike my dark brown hair up because frankly its the only style I suit.

I look in my full length mirror.

I look good. Hmm

Im quite confident in my appearance, I wouldn't go as far to call myself 'handsome' but I'm cute to myself I guess. In my own special way. Lets say im not like most guys either, im not the jock type ( gym life ) and im not a major nerd, I meet in the middle so I don't mind some sports and I like some nerdy stuff.

I was friends with everyone who wasn't a asshole in my old school and it was nice to have a group of people I could rely on but also piss myself laughing. Our group of friends came together in year 9 ( or eighth grade for you Americans ) and we've been friends since then, hung out, got drunk, the usual. That is until i moved.

Okay back to today, I rummage through my bad to make sure I have everything I need for my first day of school. Pen, pencil, ruler, jacket. I close my bag, grab my iPhone SE and earphones and play my music.

My parents are downstairs munching away on breakfast but im running late as it is talking to myself, so i run downstairs and grab my lunch money. "Hey guys im heading to the bus stop!" As I said exiting the house."Have a good d-" Shouted my mum as I shut the door cutting her off. I open the door back open, pop my head around the corner "You too!", earning a snigger off my parents. I close the door and head off.

I head to the bus stop about 5 minutes down the road from my house and wait for the bus listening to my music.

I was sat there when a girl came and sat down on the same bench. She had golden hair, blue eyes wearing a pair of trainers, sports leggings and a dance top. I looked over at her and she caught me looking and smiled. I smiled back.

The bus arived and i gestured her to go before me. I got on after her and scanned the bus. I saw the classic stereotypes, jocks at the back, geeks avoiding the back, a few goth and the rest filled with normal students. I take my seet and try to relax with all the noise behind me.

So our journey begins....
