Chapter 1

Once upon a Time....in a mythical forest, a small family traveled and built their own small cabin from the towering trees of the forest. As time passed a infant was born, and when that soft laugh sprouted from it's voice.....hundreds of fairies were born.

They drifted in the elegant wind settling by the green lush undergrowth, sprouting as a Forest fairy. Others began dancing on the gentle creek and the waters touch gave them life, thus becoming a water fairy. Some floated far away to challenging mountains and dropped with the wind into the burrows of little rodents, creating a mountain fairy. Now lastly, a few weren't so fortunate....say they happened to land where the wind blew cold, and the sun seemed dark most seasons....in a dark, wet, cave a few fairies grew off their anger. Anger of how worthless they felt and jealous for every other fairy, even of their own kind. Black fairies were then formed, all these growths of the fairy world started the first generation...

       Hundreds of years later.....

At the Forest Clan it was early morning dew. A fairy the color of the forest lived in a hollow tree, her name was Verta. Now Verta was a kind girl who loved her family and would never put any of them at risk, but a decision in the future may vary later on in life. Her wings were long and tinted a pale green the color of her thick hair, her dress made of the soft flowers of an tulip dyed green with the pigment of lemon grass. She had two other sisters Ginger and Cici. Ginger was next in line besides Verta as the oldest, her hair was the same color but as her dress was made of the flat yellowish green orchid petals that grew wild. Ginger was more mischievous and willing to take more risks than Verta would mind at times, Cici as the youngest would follow right along with both of her sister. Still, the same hair color but her dress was made of the velvety bay leafs. She was still more of the quite one but would stand out when times were needed too.

Chapter 2

Verta walked out of the rickety tree trunk where they called home, she saw her parents tending to a small vibrant flame. "Good morning" she stuttered to say due to the lack of warmth. "Hello sweetie"Paola answered as she watched her daughter sit on the tree log that they were using. Her father, or Fennik glanced behind his shoulder as he threw loose bark into the flames, "And I guess your sisters are still asleep?" He asked chuckling. She nodded as a shivering smile sprouted across her face. "Um, Mother. I was wondering if I could go out for a flutter in the sun to warm up?" Verta wondered as she gazed upwards as the shady trees that blocked the warm light. Paola chuckled and said "You know if stick around the fire you'll get warm sooner or later" "Yeah, but I think I want to see the new season" she replied. "Ah, Spring is meant for new things to blossom. Go ahead put be back before supper, oh and please see if you can fetch from the waters a nice dinner" Her mother asked. "Sure!" She responded as she fluttered towards a bamboo made fishing pole, picking it up she turned towards the lush forest and flew into the overgrown trail.

Creatures moved amongst the forest floor, mushroom heads bobbled around as small bodies trudged onwards underneath the small fungi shapes. The small creatures were called A Fugmen, because of their mushroom hats and human like body. She passed them and came across a beautiful water fall! Verta had been here many times but was never was as awe-struck before, the water glistened in the morning sun making the water sparkle in the spring air.

Suddenly a figure shot out from the water fall, Verta dropped her fishing pole and zoomed to a patch of rocks for cover! Who was this fairy? Was it a Black Fairy? Verta had know idea why she was acting in such panic, she assumed it was the stories her parents had told about the Black Fairies who would take what ever the wanted and would force actions upon others. Verta carefully peeked from behind the rock, no fairy. She turned back....."Hi!"

"AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" Her scream had made such an alarming sound that Verta used her power to protect herself from the stranger! Vines and wide leaves had covered her body from the unknown fairy. "Oh I'm sorry, there's no need to be scared" she heard the stranger say. A soft hand began pulling away the leaves as Verta stayed flat against the rock. A beautiful fairy presented with chestnut hair and lapis clothing, blue hibiscus wrapped around her clothing and her wings where tinted blue. "H-hi" she spoke trembling as she stood. "I'm Emiko!A water fairy! Who are you?" The fairy spoke. "Oh m-my name is Verta, I'm a uh Forest Fairy" Verta answered. "Nice! So what are you doing around here?" Emiko asked. "Well, I um was supposed to fish for my Mother in the waters but I guess I got sidetracked" She said nervously. "Oh ok, sorry about scaring you. I can help you fish cause I scared you so much" Emiko suggested. "No no, I'm ok it's my fault. I probably traumatized myself about Black Fairies" Verta stated. "So that's what it was.....well anyways I'll still help you!" The fairy said cheerfully. "Oh...well thanks" Verta said as she watched the fairy go back to the river bank. Verta flew down getting her fishing pole and began casting it into the waters, she was puzzled on how Emiko was going to fish without a pole. She just watched the water intently as she hovered above it. Suddenly Emiko raised her hands upwards when the water moved in that direction but with a fish in it! "Got one!" She exclaimed. Verta starred wide eyed at the large minnow that splattered onto the shore next to her. "Wow" she mumbled. "That should feed you" the water fairy said happily. "Thank you! That was amazing!" Verta said standing. "Maybe you should come by another time? A new friend would be nice!" Emiko said excitedly. "Sure! Thanks Again!" She replied. "Ok! Bye!" Emiko waved as Verta did the same.
