My Indonesian Girl

Today is the day I've been waiting for a very long time. After going through a series of ups and downs in our relationship, I and Aerith decided to take our connection --- offline.

**********

We've met online in a social networking site through a mutual friend. And I tell you, ever since that day, from that very point of time, I knew that she's the one. I knew she is the one I want to grow old with.

Me: Hi..

Aerith: Hello! :) Apa Kabar?

Me: Sorry, I can't understand. Do you know how to speak in English?

Aerith: Oops! Sorry! Yeah, a little bit. I mean how are you.

Me: That's great. I am pretty fine here. How about you?

Aerith: Same as well. By the way, my name is Aerith. Aeri for short. You? What do you want me to call you with?

Me: You can call me Peter. Nice to meet you too.

**********

I was not good at beginnings. Never as far I can remember. I am pretty having some hard time to start a lasting conversation. I always wondered how to appear interesting and appealing to others, without losing it as time spans longer. But things have changed in this thing with Aerith. Every night after school, we chatted how our days went, how smooth or how tough. We've talked a lot, without noticing that we have almost sold much of ourselves in the way. And as more weeks passed, we found ourselves getting closer and I'm starting to feel comfortable in her. Seems like I'm starting to feel an extra weight about Aeri.

Me: Hmm, can I ask you something, Aeri?

Aeri: Go on. ^_^

Me: Do you have a boyfriend?

Aeri is typing...

Aeri: Nope, I don't have any. Why Peter?

Me: Hmm. I..

Aeri: I?

Me: I mean.. I was wondering if we can try something on us.

Aeri: (inserts "question mark" emoticon) Huh? I don't get it. Can you be specific?

Me: Can you be my girlfriend?

That was the most awkward line I ever told in my running life. I asked to myself then if where I went to pull a phrase as strong as that. I am expecting to be rejected, am expecting Aeri would log out all of a sudden and would end our conversation. But I was wrong.

Aeri: Ahm..Sure.

I felt a chill on my hand as I repeatedly read her response. She agreed to be my girlfriend. Now another chapter of our story has been unfold and it's up to us on how we will write it, how we will stay strong in the road.

**********

Long-distance relationships may not always work. But it all depends on how both of you give effort to make all your lines alive. It's all about efforts, chances.. and choices.

Oops. I've got to go. The plane have just arrived at the Indonesian Airport. I'm so excited to meet her, in person.

Need more practice with your English, your syntax and word choices are weird.

Hey, we had some issues with the latest update of Chrome not showing words on the site for a little while. But the bug has all been ironed out now :)

I don't see any words. Is the system glitchy or is this one of those Emperor's New Clothes kind of things?
