Chapter 1

"Samantha" she heard the wind say. It had been a long walk through the town, and she was so cold that she was shivering. Samantha got closer to the gate, and could see a blue lights shining through the trees as she walked down a narrow path that ended to the edge of the forest.

Samantha always loved to walk the outside of the town, which was near a forest. She saw the blue light again. She walked a little farther down the path. Then she turned to the right and saw the blue light through the trees. Samantha took about ten steps to the right and saw something that she couldn't believe was actually there. It had bright blue scales that seemed to reflect the light through the trees. It also had big bright blue wings. To her it looked like a dragon.

"It couldn't be," she thought. Then she closed her eyes, and when she opened them the thing was gone.

The tall trees had begun to thin out. Samantha could see the whole town. The town, which was where Samantha lived, was small. The house that Samantha lived in was a huge log cabin that rose up along the forest. There was not much space in this town, but people did not mind. They always found a way to have fun.

As the sun was setting below the trees, Samantha quickened her pace. She needed to get home before the sunset, or her husband might get mad. Her husband was named Jason; he was tall with brown hair. Jason got worried every time Samantha came home late.

Samantha had two sons, and one girl. Their names were Jake, Preston, and Sage.

Jake was a man, or so he thought he was. He was about sixteen years old. His hair was black and shiny. Jack always had to have it spiked just a little on the top. He was a guy that loved to wear big baggy pants and long shirts. He always would were his shoes a size too big. He was considered the cutest boy in school. When Samantha would come home, she would usually find that Jack was staying up in his room working on homework or reading a book. Jake loved to read, that was his favorite thing to do.

Now Preston on the other hand was the youngest in his family, he was about ten years old. His hair was like his older brother. Preston was a picky person. If something was not just right, it was not going to happen. At school, he was not the most popular, nor the one that everyone picked on. He was just an average every day regular boy. Preston always kept his room a mess. If you were to go in there, which I wouldn't if I were you, you would not find a thing, except maybe the TV. Preston would always like to play video games. He didn't like to play sports like his older brother.

Now Sage, well, she was the spoiled one. She always got what she wanted. Her brothers didn't like the fact that she got all the attention. Their sister loved to pull pranks' on them, and every time she did they would get in trouble. She was like her mother, tall, skinny, and very smart. She looked like her mother she even had pointed ears like her mother. She look like he mother all except her hair. She got her hair from her dad. Sage and her dad had brown hair. If you weren't looking carefully you might think it was black, but it was brown.

There was one thing that her brothers picked on her about it was her ears; she had pointed ears like her mother. Her brothers thought that her ears where funny, but she didn't mind. She loved them. She exspecally loved the fact that she had better hearing than almost anyone around her.

Their family was considered one of the richest families in town, but that wasn't saying much. Most people in town were poor with little or no money. The town was mostly farmers. But Samantha was the owner of a store called Samantha's Groceries Samantha could see her family waiting at the front door for her.

Jason said, "Kids look."

They all turned and saw mom coming up to the door, except Preston, he was the last one to look up, and when he did he ran straight to mom. Samantha stretched out her, arms and embraced her son.

Preston said," Mom, Mom I have missed you! I am glad you are home!"

They grabbed hands and walked back to the house together. Samantha was glad to be home.

Jason her husband said, "Welcome home!"

The kids were screaming, "Mommy, Mommy you're home!"

The family seemed glad to have their Mom/Samantha home. Samantha was hungry, and tired from work and the walk home. Samantha was glad to be home.

Samantha said, sniffing the air, "what smells so good?"

"Its pasta, I made it for dinner." sage said.

"I would love to join you. Just give me a minute."

Samantha went up the stairs. She could hear in the back Jason saying "kids, sit down."

Samantha went up another flight of stairs. Then she went to the end of the hall, and opened a set of hard oak doors, and plopped on the bed.

Jason said," Honey, are you coming?"

"I will be down in a minute."

Samantha dropped all her stuff on the bed and went out the door.

That night after dinner and after the kids went to bed, Samantha felt really tired. What Samantha didn't know was that something weird was going to happen the next day for if she knew it, I think she may have not gone out of the house.

~

She just lay there so confused, and tired. She felt like she hadn't slept in the last year. Samantha was too tired to think any more about all of this that she fell asleep.

Samantha awoke and looked at the clock. She was going to be late for work. She jumped out of bed, and ran down the hall shouting, "kid's time to get out the door."

Samantha could hear the front door slam shut, and knew that her kids had gone off to school.

"Check one done three more to go." Samantha thought as she slammed the door shut to her room.

Samantha spent the next five minutes running around the house trying to get ready for work. When Samantha was finally ready, she looked out the window, and thought that she saw something, but Samantha didn't know and thought that it was nothing. Then she turned around, and saw that it was time to go. She went over to the door, and grabbed her coat, and as she did she felt a slight tingle as if the room suddenly went cold. Samantha turned around, but she saw nothing just the house.

Samantha thought, as she walked out of the house, "What is going on? First the shadow now the cold air"

Samantha walked her normal route to work. Samantha would walk about one mile through the forest. Samantha worked in the next town over. The forest separated the towns.

Samantha was walking through the forest when she heard some leaves ruffle.

She turned around and said, "Who is there?"

She saw no one, so she just kept walking. She was getting very worried, and wondered what was happening.

Samantha could see some thing out of the corner of his eye. She turned in the direction of the shining light. When she got to the spot where the shining light was, she looked around, and saw nothing. Then all of a sudden she saw it. It was a big bronze sword. Samantha picked it up, it was heavy, it felt like it wade a ton. Then Samantha saw a shadow among the trees. Samantha turned to see whom it was, but by the time Samantha had turned around the shadow was gone.

Samantha just stared at the sword. The sword started to glow. Samantha got so scared that she dropped the sword. When Samantha looked up she saw a girl standing right in front of her. The girl looked just like her.

The next things that happened to Samantha were just a blur, for Samantha blacked out, from the shock of seeing this girl.

At first she thought that she had slept late, after a long unpleasant dream that was still on the edge of memory. But the ceiling looked strange. "Where am I, and what time is it?" she said aloud to the ceiling

"You are in my house, and it is ten o'clock in the morning," said a voice. "It is the morning of September the twenty-third.

Samantha sat up. There was a girl sitting in a chair by the open window.

"Yes," she said, "I am here. And you are lucky to be here, after all the bizarre things you have seen since you left home."

Samantha lay down again. She felt too comfortable and peaceful to argue. She was fully awake now, and the memory of the day was returning.

Samantha said as she got out of bed, "why am I here?"

"You had a nasty fall. If I didn't come when I did, who knows what might have happen.

"You never told me who you are?" "I am you, from the future."

Samantha sat there with a dumbfounded face. She was too worried, confused, and scared to say a thing.

Samantha finally said in a rage" If you come from the future than what are you doing here? You must have a mission to do because only people from the future come back on..."

The future girl interrupted Samantha saying, "Calm down. Yes you are right I am here on a mission, but I have completed it already."

"What do you mean?

"I was sent to meet you before you meet someone."

"Who was that someone, and what were they going to do?"

"I have no clue. The person that sent me didn't tell me why. He just said that it would stop a war."

Samantha sat there confused. She had no clue what to do or say. She sat there with a blank expression.

"I have to go."

She walked right out off the door. Samantha got up quickly, and ran after her, but by time Samantha got to the door and opened she was gone.

When Samantha finally looked up she noticed that the world sort of looked weird. It looked similar to her hometown but not quite. There was something that was just out of place. She pinches her self-hoping that this was all a dream. But this was no dream this was real life, and it was starting to scare Samantha. She started to walk home hoping that her family would be able to give her some answers.

When she got to the edge of the forest she started to panic. She knew from past experience that anything could come out and scare her at any moment. So she started to run. She thought that if she ran that it would give less time for things to come out at her. Then out of the middle of nowhere she tripped over a tree root that was sticking out of the ground. She got up and looked all around, but she couldn't see anything that was in her way.

She said, "I could have sworn that there was a tree root"

And if on cue she started to see the trees move. She was to frighten to move a mussel. Then there was this sound that reminded her of Tinkerbelle off of the movie Peter Pan. It was kind of like tiny bells. Then coming out of the trees she saw what looked like a tiny Tinkerbell. The next things that happened to Samantha were just a blur, for Samantha blacked out, from the shock of seeing this fairy. When she woke up the only thing that she could see was the trees. She told herself to get up and run home.

Her body was sore and ached from all the running and falling, but she manages to get up and run for her life. When she got several blocks away from her house she could see smoke and smell something burning. This made her run even faster. She started to cry. She hoped that the house burning was not hers. When she finally got to her house she could see that it was in flames.

Chapter 2

She just stood there for what seemed like forever. She was trying to hold back the tears, but she couldn't. She just stared at the burning flames of what was left of her house. Her brain was telling her that she should move so that she didn't get consumed by the flames, but her body wouldn't move.

Once she was able to fully think and hear she thought she heard a faint noise. It sounded like a baby animal crying for help. It sounded as if the sound was coming from what was left of the house.
