Willow

I like the smell of rain, especially on freshly mown grass. It is cold, but somewhat soothing. Pitter-patter Pitter-patter  The noise lulls me to sleep. I wake up to silence, I don't like it. My eyes rest on the ceiling, plain and simple. When I was younger I would count the corners of the ceiling, so I would fall asleep.. Such a strange girl I am. My mom says my appearance is rare or something. "Born a redhead with blue eyes, you have a rare combo!" She tells me. I think my eyes are green, I like green eyes better. My eyes will be green forever. My hair is short, orange and thick. It's annoying, that's why we cut it.

Everyday I wish I could stay home from school. I space out easily, I have a vivid imagination. My teacher likes me, but my classmates don't pay much attention to me. I have my best friend, I call her Amelia. Her real name is Ameliana, and she calls me... Uh, well she calls me Willow. There is no nickname for Willow, only "Will" and I am not a boy. I am sitting in class, the room is filled with Mrs. Moore's boisterous voice. In front of me is Alan, a shy boy. He isn't mean to me, he is actually nice. He has black hair and gray eyes with glasses, he had that mysterious look.. Ya' know? I hear that a lot of girls have a crush on him.

Amelia sits way in the front, I wish she sat by me. I have a girl named Lucy beside me, and a girl named Michelle behind me. Mrs. Moore finishes talking and sits in her chair. There is silence, not a word. Before I know it, the lunch bell rings. I am so excited to leave, I accidentally fall out of my chair, causing a few people to gasp. I hit my head hard on the floor, and that's all I can remember. Guess I blacked out...

I stare at a ceiling, once more. "Ah, she is awake." an unfamiliar voice speaks. I look up to see the school nurse, Ms.Caron-Sanders. I never been to the nurse, so I didn't know her. Everything I have heard about her is a compliment. "You fell out of your chair and-" "I hit my head?" I speak over her. "Uh, yeah." The nurse arches her eyebrows, obviously disliking me cutting her off. "Anyways, you should rest for a while... The teacher was worried sick about you." Ms. Caron-Sanders tells me. I can imagine Mrs.Moore freaking out. "Okay, what about lunch?" I ask. "You can just eat it here, you have a home lunch, right?" "Yes." "A student brought it for you." She puts down a lunch on the small table beside me. "Oh, good. Who brought it?" I pick it up and start eating. "Your classmate, named Ameliana." Ms.Caron-Sanders replies. How nice... I will thank her later. I finish eating and lay down, falling into a deep asleep.
