Prologue

A man wearing an orange and black vest coat with black pants and boots. He also had an orange bandana around his head. The man walked up to a woman who wore black high heeled boots and also wore a red shirt with her Golden brown hair pulled back in a white and yellow bandana. She wore a necklace with a gold chain and a sun charm on it. The man said,

" Solara, you will not'a make it, there are too many of them." Solara smiled sweetly,

" My sweet Calador. I have followed you to the énds of the world and I would do it all ove'ar again. But if you wish to continue on your mi'ssion then you must continue it with'a out me." Calador looked down at the sand. Suddenly he felt Solara put her finger under his chin and he lifted his head to look at Solara who said,

" Is this the man I fell in love with, the one who looks away when somet' thing goes wrong?... No! You are full'e of fie're like the heat of the sánd and full of love like the stars in the night'a sky. I'a trust you wit'th thé life of ou'r daúghter. Go, and léad her wit'th you to víctory." With that, she stepped back, then turned around and walked up the sand dune. Calador sighed and said,

" Aboard thé shíp, we will ridé the sánds to'e safety." With that Calador and the rest of his crew boarded the ship.

Once on the ship, Calador ordered his crew to set the sales, and once the sales caught a gust of wind they went rolling down the sand dunes. But it wasn't fast enough. Calador looked back to see another ship with other people on it they were shooting cannons at them. Calador then yelled,

" Full'a spéed ahead!" With that Calador felt the ship lurch forwards a little bit. Suddenly he heard one of his crew members yell,

"  Captáin! Ròcks dead ahead!" Calador immediately knew what they needed to do.

" Abàndon Shíp!" But instead of diving over the side, he went through a door and into a room he saw a little girl sitting on her bed crying. She had long golden-brown hair which was up in a braid and Calador dove for her. He slowly stood up and pushed his way out of the room with his daughter in his arms, and back to the deck of the ship where they where just a few dunes away from hitting the rocks with that, he dove over the ship and into the sand.

                                              ******

A few hours later, Calador was laying on the hot sand with the hot sun beating down on him, his daughter was curled up on the sand next to him. He sat up just to see his crew starting to wake up as well. Suddenly he heard yelling behind him and watched as men who wore blue jackets and hats with white feathers on top, came running towards them he stood up but suddenly felt a shot of pain from his ankle, so instead of running he pulled out his sword and said,

" Sonra, stay close tó me." He felt his daughter grab his leg as the men came closer and closer with swords out. Finally, the men met Calador and they had begun to fight. At some point in time, Calador lost his sword a little ways from him. One of the men said,

" Surrender, Calador. You will be punished for your crimes." Suddenly just as the great captain was about to put his hands up when his daughter stepped in front of him holding his sword and saying,

" Don't touch him! Or I'll hurt you!" Calador smiled at his brave and fierce daughter and said,

" Sonra, ít is all ríght, we will go with thése men, to fàce our punishment." Sonra looked at her father then to the men as she lowered her sword she asked,

" Wha't are you góing to do to us? Make us swap thé decks or go overboard?" The man chuckled and said,

" Ha, ha... no little one, you and your father along with your crew will be magically entombed." Sonra looked at her dad who said,

" Sonra, you weré ver'y brave, now I want you to be bravé now." Sonra nodded and stuck the sword back into the sand then went with her father to a nearby pyramid. The rest of the crew was awoken or dragged after them.

                                       ******

After a long walk, everyone was sweating buckets from the blaze of the sun which was now starting to dip below the horizon. Once in the shelter of the pyramid from the sun, Captain Calador took his daughter by his side as he and his crew were positioned in a sort of indent of the pyramid. The men stepped out of the way as a woman who had blue hair wearing a white robe and a gold belt emerged from the gap and held her hands out saying,

" Captain Calador you will be magically entombed with your daughter and your crew for going against our treaty, do you agree." Captain Calador nodded solemnly and said,

" I wíll a'do it, for m'e love, Solara." With that, the woman held her hands and started to say,

" I call upon the gods of the desert to entomb this man, his family, and his crew so that no harm will come to anyone else during this era." With that, a purple-ish blue light outlined her hands and a large rock wall surrounds Calador and his crew. The enchantress then turned to the men with blue coats and said,

" I can make a puzzle that will make it harder for anyone to open it." The captain of the blue men said,

" Yes, but If anyone finds this chamber on accident, leave a warning." With that, the Captain left with his crew of blue men behind him leaving the enchantress to do as he asked. But it will soon be worthless to a group of power.

A New Mission

Conner looked up at the teacher and listened intently to what she had to say. It was the last day of school before the summer and Conner was ready to have late nights with his friends. Especially Mazie. Conner couldn't stop thinking of Mazie, the girl of his dreams. Like Mazie and the rest of his friends, he had a secret. They were all a group of secret ninjas. Suddenly the bell rang and Conner quickly packed up his things and walked out of the room. He walked down the hall and to his locker where he found his friends waiting for him. Sky, his sister was leaned up against her locker with her arms crossed and Endral had her face in a book. Mazie was laughing at Jordans funny faces and jokes while Eva said,

" Conner, what took you so long, I thought we were all allowed to leave a few minutes before the bell since it's the last day of school." Conner shrugged and said,

" I guess my history teacher wasn't watching the time." Sky rolled her eyes and said,

" You think?" Conner quickly got his bag from his locker and said,

" So where do you want to go to get lunch?" Jordan pipped up and said,

" Ohh, we could go to Subway! They always have the best sandwiches there." Sky then said,

" I was hoping we could go to a pizza place, It's a really good one and it's right next to an ice cream place!" Mazie smiled and said,

" Mmm... Icecream after Pizza sounds good." Conner smiled and said,

" I'm cool with whatever." Eva smiled and said,

" Jordan and Sky, do rock, paper, scissors to see which place we go to." With that Sky and Jordan faced each other and while Sky did rock, Jordan did scissors. Sky pounded her fist against Jordan's fingers and said,

" Woohoo! Pizza and Icecream, here we come!" With that, all six of them headed out the door.

As they walked down the school steps Conner heard some boys who were sitting on one of the bench tables saying,

" Hey Conner, tell me when you've figured out which of your friends is going to become your girlfriend." Another boy next to the first said,

" Yeah, and let's see how long you guys last till you start dating another one." Conner gave a displeased face and made a fist. Endral must have noticed because she put her hand on his shoulder and said,

" Conner, don't let your anger get the better of you." Conner took a deep breath and said,

" Alright, let's get to that Pizza place I'm getting hungry." With that, they went down to the pizza place with Sky leading the way.

                                               ******

Once they ordered their food and started eating Conner heard Endral say,

" Wow, this pizza is really good."

" I know." Exclaimed Sky through a mouth full of cheese pizza. Suddenly Conner heard the television set closest to them being turned up. Conner turned his head and watched as the television screen showed a picture of a pyramid in the desert. The reporters' voice said,

" Earlier this week, a famous explorer known as Jennifer Carriet has found a lost pyramid in the desert. It appears to be as old as the time when pirate legends where founded. Speaking of pirates on her way to the dig site this morning an old abandoned pirate ship was founded partly buried in the sand." Conner then said,

" Hey, Mazie didn't you say something about having a vision about a pyramid and a pirate ship both in the desert?" Mazie swallowed a piece of pizza and nodded saying,

" Yeah, but that was like three months ago." Conner then said,

" Well, I think we finally found out what it meant." He said looking back at the television set. Then Eva said,

" Everyone I think we are taking a little vacation to the desert."

A Pirate's Tale

Conner met the group at the edge of the city where two jeeps where waiting for them. Their parents had allowed them to go on this trip but they would have to be back in a couple of days. Conner climbed into the jeep along with Endral, and Mazie. Mazie looked up from working on a drawing to say,

" What took you so long?" Conner said in a calm way,

" I had to finish packing. Most of my clothing is black so we had to go shopping last night for clothing that wasn't black." Mazie smiled at him saying,

" We both know very well that black clothing absorbs heat." Conner nodded and smiled. He then looked away and down at his hand which he pulled out of the pocket of his blue shorts a golden necklace with a charm of a sun on it. It was his gift to her for the summer. She might not like it, Conner. He thought, but he pushed the thought out of his head and instead thought, Stop thinking like that Conner, if she doesn't like it, it will be okay. Suddenly the jeep started up and Conner looked back up at their driver to see a woman with long golden brown hair in a braid. She wore a red short-sleeved shirt with brown shorts and a bandana around her head. The woman looked back and said,

" Alright, is everyone ready to go?" Mazie looked back up and said,

" Yes, and thank you again for taking us." The woman smiled and said,

" You are very welcome, by the way, my name is Jennifer but you can call me Jenn." Just then she turned around and started the jeep. As the jeep went along the road, Jenn said,

" So, I hear you are all going to the same pyramid?" Conner nodded and said,

" Yes." Just then Conner heard Endral say,

" Jenn, wasn't there a sort of legend about the pyramid, about pirates that got magically entombed?" Conner looked at Endral with a now interesting look, then to Jenn as she said,

" Yes. The legend says that a great pirate captain once rode the dunes on a ship, his name was Captain Calador. He was always brave but it was when he committed the crime of stealing from the villages that the army came after him. His ship ran into a rock and he dove overboard with his daughter." Endral then said,

" Remind me what happened to his wife?" Jenn said,

" She went to try and stop the army. A fierce pirate she was, but she never returned to be entombed with her family or her crew, ha, I believe the legend also said that the captain's daughter tried to help."

" But alas, it was said that the army had captured the captain's wife and put her in a separate tomb since they didn't want to reawaken Calador." Conner looked out at the desert sand and saw the dunes shifting in the wind, it didn't take long after that before they came to a sort of wooden ruin. Jenn stopped the car and so did the driver of the other jeep to let Conner and his friends out to see the ruins. Jenn walked up to it and said,

" This is the actual ruins of Captain Calador's ship while he was being chased by the army."

" Can we go check it out?" Asked Mazie. Jenn looked at the other driver of the car and said,

" Should we let them, sis?" The other driver had short dark brown hair with a blue-yellow shirt and blue pants. She shrugged and said,

" Fine by me." Jenn nodded and said,

" Yeah, go ahead." With that, Mazie walked towards the broken down ship. Conner followed close behind her, and once he caught up to her he asked,

" Why do you want to go inside?"

" This was part of my vision, and if it was in there then I have a feeling we might need to check it out." They stepped over a few broken boards and Conner looked over to the right to see a large like structure with the remains of a tattered flag on top of a room below a higher part of the ship where a broken and busted wheel was partially still intact. Endral walked passed Conner saying,

" This must be where Captain Calador slept with his wife and daughter." Conner followed her and said,

" Here step back." With that, he side kicked the rest of the broken door down and bent down to go inside and look around. Sky and Eva stayed behind. What Conner saw was a broken bed covered with a partially eaten quilt. Over on the other side of the room under the large pillar was a small writing desk. Conner started to look inside the drawers and didn't have any luck till he noticed something under a yellow aged paper. He moved the paper out of the way and saw a small handle. Conner looked back at the other girls who were looking at the walls and floor, then said,

" Hey, girls... over here. I found something." Mazie, Jordan, and Endral all came over and saw what Conner found. Jordan said impatiently,

" Go on Conner, open it, I want to see what's inside." Conner lifted the small hidden door to reveal a small flat box and a notebook. Surprisingly, none of them looked demolished or dusty. Conner picked up the notebook and opened it reading the first-page-out loud,

" I Captain Calador is proud to report that I have finally gotten the girl of my dreams, Solara. We have already decided that we are to have a child. It will be as sweet as the stars in the night sky and as fierce as the sun on the desert sand. I have many more dreams and ambitions than ever now but my one priority is to protect and care for my Solora and child."

" Wow, now that's different from anything I've ever heard." Exclaimed Jordan.

" We can keep reading it on the way to the pyramid but for now put it in my bag so Jenn and her sister don't find it." Added Endral. With that Conner closed it and put it in Endrals bag as Jordan opened the box and as she did she said,

" Wow! Uh, guys... I think I found out the master this guy works for." She pulled out a drawing of the sun and a man with a halo in the shape of the sun. Conner eyed the man as Endral said,

" I think that's the god the sun, I read a book once about mythical Greek gods."

" So are we chasing a greek desert pirate now, great, and I can't read greek!" Complained Jordan.

" Hold your horses, Jordan." Said, Mazie. She took the picture from her and looked at it. Mazie then said,

" What if it's not a coincidence that Captain Calador adored a sun god, lives in the desert where you feel most of the sun's heat, and his wife's name means sun!" Just then Endral said,

" Hey, guys... you need to come to look at this." She was standing by the bed and holding another piece of paper. Conner walked over and looked over Endral's shoulder to see a drawing of a woman with long hair and boots and a large coat. She also wore a bandana around her head. Jordan who looked said,

" Wow, Mazie... this girl looks a lot like you." Conner suddenly saw something written in the bottom corner and said,

" I don't think that's any girl... that's Solara." Conner looked from the picture to Mazie, back to the picture then to Mazie, and said,

" Mazie... you might be a relative of Solora." Mazie gave wide eyed expression but didn't say anything.
