Australian born author|poet|illustrator
Rochelle Angelique writes under a pseudonym as an Australian born author of fiction and fantasy. She values nature and life on earth. She was raised on a co-operative in the Victorian ranges called 'Irun Illam Baluk' which means look not for water in the local Taungurong indigenous language. The lifestyle was self-sustaining and harmonious. At sixteen, Rochelle moved to Melbourne to study the arts, later venturing around the world to live, work and travel. She currently resides in Queensland working with cultures and businesses.
A word from the author….
Words flow through and I write. I never know where I am going to end up or what characters are going to form. The style of writing is formally known as ‘Pantser’ a discovery style used by writers who create masters like Marvel and Star Wars ~ some of my epic mentors.
Naturally, as a discovery writer, I work on more than one project, so I am in the midst of an Elemental Dragon Series suitable for children or young adults. The first of the Elemental Dragon Series is called ‘Earth Dragon’ inspired by the way humans treat all life on earth and their nourishing home - mother earth. Scenery within this book dwells from the lost world of Lord Howe Island, Balls Pyramid and Fraser Island, Australia. One of the characters is based on my dog Gemstar. See if you can guess which one!
In the interim you can enjoy a sample from ‘The Poet ~ who didn’t know it.' A collection of lifetime poems inspired by natural wilderness, urban cities, love and lifestyles. Covers for my books are formulated using Canva or illustrated electronically or painted by me in oil. What’s unique about my eBook? It links to Red Bubble merchandise shop or YouTube so you can enjoy poetry in motion with music and photos.
My biggest challenge is finding the time to create whilst balancing work, rest, exercise and family. A close friend once said to me ‘Rochelle who dances between the raindrops’ which is how I feel now balancing work, family life and play. Writing happens in between the raindrops of life’s responsibilities and I some how join the dots to make it all flow together.
