“We have to close the walls it is the only of saving the creature from being killed by the humans. They are on to us, they are naming the killing that are happing the demon in the night and they are gathering up to hunt us all down.” Said a tall man that looked like he was just an old gentleman but he was a vampire. He was talking to another man but he just looked normal or as far as anyone could tell. “I don’t see the need to, we need to catch the people that are doing this, and they are the ones we need to see to not closing the walls.” He was rather harsh when he said this like he was pleading for the walls not to be closed, but he didn’t get his wish the other elder agreed that the walls should be closed and when that happen the people that were killing the humans were caught and they were locked away for good. Now five hundred years later the people that were caught were now on the loose and they were set to break the walls down and were going to continued what they had started.

For over five hundred year the small town of Astria had been  quiet, but all that was about to change as screams ripped thought the night sky and blood was running though the town. It seemed like the bed time stories that had been going around the town for years were now true that the horror had come back to haunt them. In the distance there was a shadow looking at the town and the screams that were plaguing the night. They couldn’t see it but he had a smirk on his face like he was enjoying all the chaos that was going on. “Nice work Connor.” Another voice came from behind him “Got any more trick like that and the elder might just lock the walls for good.” Connor smirked and thought he didn’t turn away just continue to look on the scene that he had caused. “Yes well they shouldn’t of stopped me five hundred year ago and lock me away in the pits.” He was bitter when he had said these last few words. Conner had been one of the people that had been locked away for causing many death all them year ago.

“Yes I was there and I went with you.” The second man said like he was bitter as well but looked like he had learned his lesson on the whole thing. Connor just looked at him as the second man now stood next to him. “What happened to you Alexander? Where is the man that wanted the walls to all ways be down that did all the things were me back then and who didn’t care what happened to him. By looks of him he is just a shell of a man now that is just weak.” Alexander shook his head at Connors words that were as harsh, but it didn’t seem to faze Alexander at all. “No Connor, it is you that is weak and why you were in the pit for all this time, because you didn’t want to change, but just seek revenge of the elders for what they did. Yes I was vengeful for a long time but now I am not. I am here to help you” Connor laugh at Alexander’s words and started to walk away like he was going back for more, but Alexander grabbed him and pulled him back and nearly knocked him down to the ground.

“What the hell Alexander, this has nothing to do with you now; you don’t get to order me around.” Connor was up in the matter of moments and in the face of Alexander in the matter of moments. Laugher ripped thought the darkness it was not just Alexander but another person that was now joining them. Both Alexander and Connor turned to see a third man coming towards them. “Well if you to have finished with your man love there are more important things at stake here than who has changed and who hasn’t. The elder are getting together and they are reeling mad, they know about the killing here. They are talking of closing the wall for ever now, so that no-one can come though.” Now this shook both of the men that heard the new mans new but Connor than laughed like it was some kind of a joke and that someone was going to tell him it was not going to happen. “Really Aiden, they won’t do that they needed the walls unlocked for there so called business that they have.” He rolled his eyes when he said this and still with the laugher in his voice.

Aiden shakes his head. “No it’s true; they have asked me to come and get the both of you and to bring you back so that they can talk to you about it.” Aiden said making like he was going to head back and that he was going to use force to bring them to back. Connor looked like he was fighting weather to go or not but this was something that he had been planning on and he smirked. “Fine but just so you know I will have my way.” Connor said as he made a gesture to lead on and Alexander not having said a word shrugged and followed on more interested in what was going to happen when they arrived and the news that they were about to hear. It didn’t take them long to arrive back and they were heading to the elders place. Connor was just laughing at the prospect at the summons that he had been given. Alexander just looked at Connor and shakes his head in dismay “What is with you laughing, this is not good you know and you are treating it like it just a big game.” Alexander said but Connor just smirked and winked.

Moments later they arrived at the elders place to find the place surrounded by people and as the three guys approached Aiden spoke to one of the people that was trying to keep people back from getting in. “They are all dead, as soon as you left someone came in and killed them, it was like it was all planed.” The worker said to Aiden and Aiden looked from Connor to Alexander, both looked just as shocked as Aiden did. “Any news on who it was or if he has been caught.” The man just shook his head and ran his finger though his hair like he was worried that the person was going to come back to finish of anyone else that was still there. By this time Aiden looked thrantic like this was something that was now bigger than he was and he couldn’t do anything about it. “Is there anything going to be done about it?” He said to the man that was looking around and trying to stop people moving forward. He shakes his head and asks them to come into the building and all three follow him in.

“No, I don’t know what we can do; now the elders have all been killed. I don’t know what the next step is.” The man said walking up and down, but no-one had notice Connor with a smirk on his face and he moved to go to the room where the elder would sit. “How about we remove the walls now, I mean what anyone can do now.” All three looked at Connor as he had a smirk on his face like he had something to do with the elder death. “I knew it, this was all just some plot to get the elders talking so that they could all be killed while you were out in the human world, that kill you did it so that they would be in the same place at the same time, so you could get your own way and seek revenge on the elders for what they did all them years ago.” Alexander said moving forward towards Connor shaking his head but Connor just laughed. “You really think that I would just sit back and do nothing. I have been planning this all these years that I have been in the pit.”

Alexander just shook his head. “This really what you wanted, Connor to be the most hated and the most feared and because they didn’t give you what you wanted you wanted to lash out, because that is what you do, you have been this way since Elena broke your heart all them years ago. Connor just laughed and rolled his eyes at what he had just said. “Really you think this is about her, how wrong you are. I want the walls gone and now that they are there are a new elders and a new world and if you don’t like it, then you know what you can do.” Connor said with a smirk on his face sitting at the table with his legs over the other like he was making himself the leader. “So is this part of your plan as well to become leader.” 

Connor just smirked and raised his arms to show his work at what he had caused and what he had gained. “Yes I can and I have and there is nothing that you can do about it. As from this little stunt that has gone on I am now the elder leader and if you chose then join me then otherwise I will have to resort to other methods so how about it, who will join me or who will pay the price.” Connor said sounding like he had more on his mind than just inviting some people to join him. “I will join you.” Aiden said without even thinking about what he was saying then he closed his mouth but Alexander just nodded like he was saying yes without saying yes out loud. “Good Alexander, least you are coming around and me and you are going to have a talk later I have big plans and I need your help.” Alexander nodded he had other things on his mind than just what he had agreed to. “Let’s just get this mess cleared up before we start telling everyone there are new elders about, it might send the wrong message to them we want them to fear us don’t we.” Alexander said to Connor more as he was trying to be his number two. Connor just smirked and nodded like he was agreeing to what he was saying and that he was thinking of something else but wasn’t going to say it just yet.

There was something about this that didn’t seem right to Alexander and he just couldn’t put his finger on it. Conner was always the one to one up people and now the he had control what would he do next and he didn’t like it. “So what is your big plan are you going to let us in on it?” Alexander asked trying to see if he could get away to Connor thinking which he had never done before. Connor smirked and said. “All in good time and for one you might not be worthless after all.” Alexander just smirked and nodded. He didn’t like this at all and now was starting to wonder if he was doing the right thing but he had said he would and he didn’t go back on his promises to people. He hated that about himself that he didn’t like to break a promise. They walked to the chamber room to talk some more. Aiden and the guard followed as they were just asked to follow, both of them shrugging and wondering why they were being asked only to find out that they would be the next two elder members. It seemed that Connor was very selective on who he chose for this.

“Rosie, if you don’t get up this moment you will be late” A voice drifted up stairs, Rosie rolled over in bed and looked at the clock; it was just seven in the morning. She rolled her eyes and laid there look at the ceiling, it was her first day back at school, she wasn’t sure that she wanted to go at all, she had not been feeling well all summer and now she just wanted to crawl back under the covers. Again the voice from downstairs yelled up again and this time she did get yup, yawing slightly and walking over to the bath room. Half an hour later she was down in the living room and sitting in the kitchen tucking into the breakfast that had been laid out for her. She had almost finished eating when her roommate came in and what looked like she had been out for a run. “Well hello sleepy head, thought we were going for a run this morning before school starts again.” Alayna said now sitting down at the breakfast bar and poured herself a glass of orange juice as Rosie rolled her eyes. “I really didn’t feel like it or getting out of bed.”

Alayna just smirked and shakes her head. “I know you have not been feeling well and its coming up on a year since, well you know what, but you cannot let that bring you down, you said it yourself she had it coming to her and she is better of where she is.” Rosie just looked at Alayna and shakes her head. “Look there is no need to feel guilty now, what done is done and we cannot change it none of us can so we have to move on and forget about it all and we have more important things to be going on with, this is our last year here and we have to look for a new place as well, so come on let go to Costa before we head to the university. Rosie could just smirk at that, “I am not guilty of what happened last year far from that. Just with spending most of the summer in bed just really don’t feel like going anywhere.” Alayna shook her head but she didn’t say anything and Rosie just looked at her and got up and headed to get changed to head out for the day.

They had head out of the door and they saw memorial posters of Vicky and they both stop dead in their tracks and looked at each other with their mouths slightly open when Brooklyn came running up to them. “Can you believe it; they are still harping on a year later saying that her death is still a mystery and that the police are looking for new evidence.” All three looked at each other all thinking the same thing and they kind of looked worried. “What do we have to worry about?” Rosie said making Alayna jump slight and turning her head like Rosie had finally woken up and they all smirked. “They talked to all of us last year and they seemed convinced about what we said so let’s just go to Costa and then head to class.” It was like they needed eyes in the backs of their heads just to make sure that they were not being followed or anything. “Oh let’s not worry about it.” Brooklyn said. “Just people wanting to point the fingers and they cannot prove anything.” All three nodded as they headed into the coffee shop and moment later came out with hot chocolates.

“I just have to head to the toilet, I will catch you up.” Rosie said heading into the toilet, coming out moments later she headed out and found herself on the ground. She looked up to say what was running though her mind and she found that she couldn’t say anything but there was a hand extended to pull her up to her feet. “I am so sorry; you came out of there so suddenly that I didn’t catch you in time.” Rosie couldn’t find the words to say anything the guy she was looking at just couldn’t help but smile. “Are you ok, you didn’t hit your head or anything?” The guy said as he looked at her still with the charming smile on his face. Finally able to find her voice Rosie smiled. “No I am fine mhm; sorry didn’t catch your name.” The guy chuckled slightly as he was glad that she was not tongue tied anymore. “Well I am glad you have found your voice and no, I did not say my name but it’s Connor Jordon.” The last name wasn’t true but she didn’t need to know that.

“Well it is good to meet you Connor but I have to head to class.” Starting to head off to her first class of the day, but he was walking with her. “Maybe I could walk you?” Rosie stopped and looked at Connor. “No it’s fine and I don’t think you even go to the school, you look a little old to be still in education.” Conner smirked and nodded at Rosie. “I am younger than I look, no I just moved around here and I have just started at the today. I was hoping you could show me around, maybe go for coffee.” Rosie couldn’t help but smile as she looked at her phone as Brooklyn was calling her, she was late as always. “I tell you what, meet me here at lunch say one ish and we can talk about going for coffee, don’t get your hopes up though. As Connor slightly chuckled and Rosie turned on her heal and answered her phone. “Yes I am on my way; I have something to tell you, just not now.” She put the phone down on her friend as she made her way to class knowing that she would be late but right now she didn’t care.

When class had finished over an hour and a half later, Rosie, Brooklyn and Alayna were sitting in the park that was just outside the university she had just finished telling them about Connor and how she had ran into him, they two had big smiles on their faces and Rosie wished she could stop. She hated when they did that. “Stop smiling like that I know it has been some time since John but I am over that he can go rot somewhere for all I care.” Both Alayna and Brooklyn raised their eye brows but Rosie ignored them both. “So are you going to meet him?” asked Alayna and Rosie shook her head. “No why should I he wouldn’t even be there when I got there so why I should I look like a fool because some new guy liked what he saw and won’t see me again.” Still Alayna and Brooklyn shook their heads. “Ugh, fine I’ll go but when I am right you owe me big time for this.” All three laughed at that, when a girl with long blond hair that looked like she had just come out of a film.

“Sorry but do you know where they are holding the memorial for Vicky.” All three looked at the female that had approached them. “No sorry, we don’t.” Brooklyn a little to snippy for meeting someone new and the female turned with a look on her face that said what that was for, but as the female turned away. “Why the hell would we want to know?” Brooklyn said in a low voice that still carried and the female that was walking away nearly turned her head and stopped to look around but it looked like she didn’t want them to know that she had been listing to them. Alayna and Rosie both looked with looks on their faces likes like stop talking now. “What she can’t do anything?” Brooklyn laughed slightly as all three now got up heading to their next class. “If it makes you feel any better Rosie we will come with you as sorts to make sure that if you are stood up we can have lunch somewhere.” Knowing that they were not going to let it drop Rosie just shook her head but she didn’t say anything as the next class was about to start.

It was finally lunch time and they headed to the outside of the university where to Rosie surprise Connor was waiting for her. It looked like he had not moved from where she had left him before she had head to class this morning. Both Alayna and Brooklyn looked at Rosie giving that I told you so look, Rosie just walked over to Connor ignoring them both. “Well you are here; I didn’t think you would be.” Connor held out his hand to Rosie and she took it and to her surprise he kissed the palm of her hand. “I never go back on my word, miss? She had not given her name when they had met earlier. She smirked “Well good to know, not many guys do that and my name is Rosie.” Connor nodded his head slightly and motioned to walk with him and she did it automatically. She was starting to wonder why she was here, she didn’t even know who he was and she was heading to get coffee with him but she felt like she had to get to know him, and there was something about him that was attracting her to him.

"You don’t even know me and you are asking me to come with you, you could some mass killer for all I know." Connor just laughed and shook his head. Rosie just scowled at him and Connor stopped laughing. "Ok I am sorry but you are right and you did say yes to coming and you are the one that asked to meet here" Smirked Connor with that swaggering charm looks on his face. It made Rosie slightly blush but he was right and after a few moments. "Fine you win." She said with a smirk on her face. They headed off down the road to a small coffee shop that had hardly any customers in and looked like it could close down at any moment. They sat right at the back of the shop where the shop keeper just brought over two bagels and two hot chocolate. Rosie was like how did you do that but then she was like maybe they needed to get rid of them and are free. She picked at the bagel as she gazed out of the window hoping that something or someone would turn up to get her out of this to save her from her self.

“So why don’t you tell me about you self then or do you do this with every lady you meet.” Rosie finally asked him.” Connor perked up when she said this and a smile appeared across his face and for the first time she notice he had quite long hair for someone of his age and she thought that it kind of suited him. “All in good time, I don’t want to scare you away just yet I want you to know the person instead of the history behind the person. If that is alright” Rosie didn’t know what to say about this but she had to give it to him, never judge a book by its cover and he was right. “Ok what are your hobbies then and what are you studying at the university.” Connor smirked. “What is this game of twenty questions?” Rosie had laughed at that he was right she had just asked him two questions at once. He licked his lips and sat back looking at Rosie. “How about you ask one and I ask one, and then we both get to know each other.” She nodded at that, which sounded fair.

So for the next few hours, Rosie having lost all sense of time the two got to know each other and they only left the coffee shop when they were kicked out because they were closing down for the night. “Oh man I didn’t realise the time and I’ve missed all my afternoon class.” Rosie said looking around and then at her phone she had several missed calls from Brooklyn and Alayna asking where she was. “I am so sorry that I have to leave you like this, but I have to go and sort out why I wasn’t in lesson.” Connor put up his hand and shook his head. “I am sure it will be fine and you told your friends where you were so I am sure by the sounds of it they would have covered for you. She nodded but anyways she sent a quick text to Alayna telling her that she would be home soon and she would tell her everything that had gone on. She always told her everything that had gone on in her life and why should she stop now. “Look I have to go, maybe we could do this another time, and you have my number now so call me.” With that Rosie turned on her heal and headed home.

It was several hour later as Brooklyn, Rosie and Alayna were sat around the table each with a glass of wine in their hands. Rosie had just finished telling them about the day she had with Connor. “See I told you that you wouldn’t regret going and look at you blushing and all.” Alayna said with a laugh and Rosie looking at her like she was mad, but it was true she had just gone a little red in the face and Brooklyn just had a smirk on her face. “So are you going to see him again?” Alayna pressed on wanting to know more. Rosie shrugged. “I don’t know he has my number.” The door bell rang at this point. “It is on his choice, I am going to leave it to him if he wants to see me again.” Getting up from where she was sitting to go to the door not looking where she was going. “I am not going to chase him; I’ve done the chasing before and looked where that got me.” Rosie said as she opened the door and then turned and her jaw dropped to the ground.

“I am sorry, not disturbing you am I.” Connor said taken aback by the look on Rosie face as Rosie looked from Connor to the Alayna and Brooklyn who were poking their heads around the corner from the dining room. “How did you know where I lived?” How could he know that was confusing and it showed on Rosie face and Connor could see that but he still had that charming look on his face. “I am sorry; I kind of followed you back, just to make sure you were ok. I know I stepped over a line and I do apologise about that.” Rosie thought he did seem genuine about that. “Well I am fine as you can see.” Rosie said rather harshly and this drew Connor back slightly at these words. “So Why are you here Connor?” Rosie continued wanting to know why he was here and interrupting her night in with her friends. “Well I did think of phoning but I wanted to come in person if you wanted to come out for a meal tomorrow night?” He asked and a small smile on her face.

She could hear both Alayna and Brooklyn mutter say yes and she knew they wouldn’t let it drop and they had been pushing her into dating all summer long. “Yes I would love to and I know I won’t hear the end of it if I said no.” Turning around looking at her friend and they both ran back to where they had been sitting. Rosie chuckled and shook her head and turned back to Connor. “I will pick you up about half seven.” Connor said nodding slightly like he was making a bow to Rosie and she couldn’t help but blush slightly at that. “I will look forward to it.” Connor smiled and muttered until tomorrow and he turned to head down the garden the path and Rosie watched him go and then closed the door and headed back to the kitchen. “I only said yes to keep you guys quiet I knew that I wouldn’t hear the end of it.” All three laughed at that as Rosie sat back down and grabbed the bottle and poured her another glass of wine. She felt slightly uneasy that he had just showed up like that and that he had followed her back to where she lived and she didn’t know what to think about this before she could even think like that Alayna spoke up.

“What is there to think about Rosie, yeah him showing up like this is kind of creepy but he is hot and when you going to meet someone like that, who will talk for hours on end in a coffee shop.” She was right Rosie thought to herself. What was she so nervous about, getting hurt again, sure that was always on the card but there was something about Connor that Rosie just could not shake. It was like there was something about him that she couldn’t put her finger on and she wanted to know more and maybe this dinner was going to be where she was going to find out more about the mystery man. “So we need to take you shopping, because your wardrobe needs a good make over and don’t worry about your hair and makeup we will sort that for you.” Brooklyn said before Rosie could even open her mouth and she just chuckled and laughed at it knowing she wasn’t going to get a second chose in the matter.

Waking up the next day and looking at the clock it was ten in the morning, she didn’t even remember getting to bed the night before or what time they had gone to bed. Yawing and rolling out of bed and heading to the bath room, passing Alayna on the stairs. “Well hello sleepy head, I was about to come and get you, class start in an hour’s time.” Rosie gowned as she headed into the bath room. Half an hour later she was down stairs grabbing a breakfast bar and a banana and Alayna and Rosie headed out of the door, talking about the day a head. “So you though anymore of what you want to wear?” Rosie had forgotten about the date she had to night and now the memory of last night came back to her. “Isn’t Brooklyn and yourself going to take me shopping after work as she called it I need a makeover” Rosie rolled her eyes at this not really happy at the choice of words that Brooklyn had used but she knew what she meant.

They were heading to the first class of the day and waiting outside the university was Connor was he waiting for her she thought to herself. “Look who is waiting for you.” Alayna chuckled as she now noticed who was waiting for her as well. She smiled slightly as they approached Connor. “Good morning.” He said meeting them both as he kissed the palm of Rosie hand and she couldn’t help but blush at that. “Don’t you have class or you just wanting to say good morning?” He nodded. “Just wanted to say good morning and that hope you are well.” Rosie pulled her bag on to her shoulder more. “I see you have a class so I will leave you and see you tonight.” Walking away as both Rosie and Alayna headed into the university and to the first class of the day. Connor turned away and headed to the park that was nearby and a voice sounded as Alexander came up beside him. “What are you doing here Alexander?” Connor said with a blank tone sounding like he was not happy to have him here.

“I could ask you the same thing, and what are you going to do with that pour girl that you seem to taken a fancy to.” Connor chuckled slightly as they started to walk together heading to a place where they could talk. “I am going to turn her.” Connor said it was just like another day and he could do this at any time he wanted. Alexander just shook his head “They are not your play things to pick of one by one. Just because you have broken down the wall doesn’t mean you can do this.” Connor just shakes his head. “I can do what I like Alexander, you know that and you can do nothing about it.” Alexander just shakes his head as he looked at Connor, he could try and talk him out of it but he knew that it would get no-where and he would do what he wanted anyways so what was the point. “Don’t give me that look Alexander, you knew what would happen when I took over and this girl is mine and I will do with her what I like and there is nothing that you can do about it.” Connor said using his new found power to do what he like. Alexander just shook his head and didn’t say a word on it.
