Chapter

It was a dark gloomy night. The night seemed to reflect the state of her very heart. The sound of the bed creaking echoed in the silence of the night. She lied in her bed staring at the ceiling of the room. Not feeling a thing. Feeling way too much in the past has made her incapable of feeling anything anymore. She wanted to cry and scream, but now, these were of no use to her. Million thoughts running in her mind. Though she had become habituated to this kind of life, she would have done anything to change her circumstances. She did fight for herself in the past but not anymore. Tiredness had clutched onto her very existence.

Soon, the creaking sound of the bed stopped. The other person on the bed rolled over to the other side of the bed, while she lied motionless on one side. She turned her face to look at the man lying next to her and the voice of her mother echoed in her head, Beta, If it is your husband, then it is not rape.”
