Chapter 1:

                                             The Secret Organization

Iris sat there tapping her fingers on the long wooden table. Being bored as ever. She sat in a dark room with a single window, and a gold chandelier dangling from what seemed like a single thread. 6 people sat on each side except Iris, who sat all the way in the front. Straight up from where they were sitting was Lauren’s mum and dad, hanging upside down with magical rope.

They both were getting very pale, because of how long they were held. They were very lovable people, amazing wizards. Their children had yet to be orphans. Her mum only just gave birth to Lauren’s sister. Who was not yet named, they had told Lauren to go stay with her grandparents. For only a miserable, treacherous night she would receive.

Iris cleared her throat and began to speak, “Ahem”-she gave the Jays a cold stare, “It has been decided, we shall take the girl too.”

“NOO!!” shouted Lauren’s mum, who was named after the greek god of wisdom, Athena.

“Please, she’s only just a girl.”

Lauren’s father stood there, trying to find a way to escape but he had no luck.

“Please.” Her lips trembled, she was fighting back her tears. Then she realized what must be done. “t- take me instead!

“No, take me!” Hector exclaimed.

Iris then put a grin on her face.

With a swish of her wand she let Athena  down, with a SLAM on the floor. Circling around Athena as she spoke in a obnoxious voice, “What makes you think, we would ever want you?”

Then her grin suddenly faded away, and she screamed, “CRUCIO!”

Athena howled with pain. She twisted every side as if that would help. Everyone laughed with joy, except Lauren’s dad, Hector, named after a hero from Greek mythology.

“If you don’t want us to take the girl, we’ll take the old lady.”

People gasped around the room. Why would they need the old frail lady, one even shouted, “ooh, poor babushka.”

With much courage Athena whispered, “What use is my mother?”

Lauren was sound asleep with her sister, with no clue what was happening. Her parents had left her a letter explaining everything to her. It explained why they had left so suddenly and mysteriously one night, what she was , what they were, how she could protect herself and her sister. Her grandma was soon going to be replaced. Replaced by Iris V. Redwood.

“Well a lot of  use really,” said Iris. There was no sound of pity in her voice. If Iris was disguised as Lauren’s grandmother, she could find a way to save herself and him. She could even steal her fortune. Oh what fun she would have feeding lies to a child, torturing her and the little one until they wilted because of confusion. She would have great power over Lauren. Though, first she would need to know everything about Kimberly Hess Anne. Kimberly was Lauren’s grandmother.

Without an answer, “Bring her in,” said Iris.

While Kimberly was being brought in, dragged by her hair, Iris pulled a long rope and with her wand, (once again) flicked it. The rope was now tied behind Athena’s hands.

Before Iris turned around she said, “Petrificus Totalus.”

Athena then wasn’t able to move, one way or another.

“Alright, alright,” Iris said and swished her wand. She let Hector on the floor, frozen and ropes tied between his arms too. “I’ll let you see your children, just one more time!”, Iris shouted. She then took Kimberly by the hair and pushed her to them. “Well, what are you waiting for, let’s go!”, she shouted at the others. And they followed. The last person was supposed to shut the door, but with great sorrow, he whispered, “Please forgive me.”, and left with the door shut.

Now that Kimberly was alone with Athena and Hector, she could finally speak.

Without saying anything she took her wand and said “Finite Incantatem,” and broke the curse altogether.

She then untied the ropes behind them. Hector and Athena were free. Thankfully, Iris and everyone else were not watching.

    “Thank you,” Athena replied.

Running to hug her mother.

“That maybe your last words,” cried babushka.

“I hope not”, said Athena, and began to cry. She could cry all she wanted, but there would be no use, because time was not on their side. Fear, anger, and sadness filled the room. Words could not describe how she was feeling.“What are they going to do with you?” Hector cried.“That, I don't know.” Kimberly replied. Athena stood there in shock, she was trying to be brave, but how? Her children were at her own mother's house alone, they both would wake up afraid. How could she be brave when any second she could die? These questions flooded her mind.

“Whatever they’re going to do, I know it won't end well. We’ll all get hurt. They trapped us here for a reason. The reason was definitely for someone to be brought back.”

“No! You don't think there trying to bring him back do you?” Hector exclaimed.

“I do believe they are trying to bring him back.”

“That's not possible, is it?” Right before Kimberly could answer they heard a lightning struck. Rain was heavily falling. Lauren used to love listening to the rain while she slept.

“SILENCE!” Iris screamed at Gertrude Jay. Gertrude became quiet in a instant. Her parents looked at her embarrassed. “We've gone over this. We need the old lady. Now fetch her for me.” Instead of Gertrude her brother, Leo Jay stood up. “I'll do it instead.” Pride flushed his parents faces. He walked into the room where Hector, Kimberly and Athena were.

“Hello?” he called. He saw the three adults sitting there, fear on their faces. “Where's the ‘old lady’ ?” he uttered. “I'm here”, Kimberly replied in a calm tone.

How on earth can mother be this calm? Thought Athena.

Before anyone said anything else Hector stood up, “No...you can't take her!”

“I have to.” Leo replied. Hector and Athena both looked around for their wands, once they found their wands, near a dusty corner, they picked them up and both shouted,“Stupefy!” in unison.

Leo barely blocked it. He took his wand and calmly said “Expelliarmus.” Their wands dropped on the floor, somehow both of their wands shattered when they hit the floor. “How-how did you do that?” Athena said scared. Leo ignored her. He took his wand and wrapped a magical rope around Kimberly’s arms. “NO MOTHER!” Athena shouted. Leo brought Kimberly to the other room.

“Finally.” Iris said impatiently. She took out her wand and brought Kimberly to her. She chained her up to the wall. “Alright, bring me the wand.” Iris asked. Anera Jarez, wife of Cherence Jarez stood up and unlocked

the chest where the sacred wand was. Anera held the white wooden wand and gave it to Iris. “Now watch as I suck all the magic of Kimberly Hess Anne!” She said a spell that sounded like gibberish and pointed to the frail widow. Golden smoke came out of of the chest of Kimberly. Stealing magic from wizards and witches was painful to the person whose magic was getting stolen. “AHHHHH!” Kimberly screamed in pain. This pain brought a smile to everyone. It was almost as terrible as being kissed by a Dementor.

Sorrow and pain, blood came running down her eyes.

Even tiny blobs of blood was in her scalp, because of getting pulled by the hair so much.

Leo wanted to save her. Yet he could only do so much.

So he put a fake smile on his face, it was obvious that it wasn't really pleasant enjoying Iris torture Kimberly.  After Kimberley’s turn was taken, Leo was ordered to bring in his step-parents.

“Well, Leo dear, what are you waiting for?”, Iris questioned.

“Your innocence”, Leo mumbled under his breath and left.

Minutes later, he came back his eyes red, but his chin up.

Athena and Hector said not one word to each other, nor looked at anyone. They silently walked to Iris. While every watching, howling with laughter.
