Saturday. 

Lexi’s POV:

Hey, I’m Lexi Smith, 20 of age.

I have tanned skin, light blue eyes, long dark blue hair that I dyed, a bellybutton piercing, I’m fit and have a tattoo of a dreamcatcher on my right arm. 

I live in a two-bedroom modern flat in the city with my best friend Ajax, we both moved into the CBD for work. 

I’m a bartender at one of the top local nightclubs called Wicked Lounge, I’ve been there for a year and I love working there.

Ajax is a personal trainer, I’ve known him since year 7 I was the outsider of the school and Ajax noticed me out of everyone so we became best friends.

I’m single but had boyfriends before, my last few relationships were a bit toxic one of my exes used to hit me and verbal abused me.  My other one was a complete nut case, he had a few mental issues. 

I adore animals, I own a Husky called Sunny, my favourite colours are black, gold and pink.

My hobbies are working out, shopping, skateboarding, partying and road trips.

When I was 14, my mum took her own life because her depression was bad. My dad didn’t handle her passing very well he started drinking, staying out all night going around pubs with his mates. I did my bar course online.  

Music is my drug, I was hospitalized from psychoticdepression at 17 it came after four years after mum passed away. Ajax was there by my side keeping me strong. 

Ajax’s POV: 

Hey, I’m Ajax West, 20 of age. 

I have fair skin, light green eyes, brown short hair, a tattoo of an anchor on my left wrist and I’m fit.

I’m living with my best friend in two bed room flat in the city, Lexi would have mentioned that already. I used to be in the navy that’s what my tattoo stands for got it after I left. 

My height is 6’foot yeah I’m tall ha-ha. 

I’m in a relationship with a girl called Roxanna, we met at a party. 

I work as a personal trainer, love helping my clients reach their goals in fitness I’m a laid-back coach. 

Lexi and I met in year 7, I chose her out from everyone because Lexi stood out from the crowd so we have been friends ever since but all friendships had their ups and downs. When Lexi went into hospital from depression I was the only who visited and stayed by her side. 

I kinda have a crush on Lexi.  

Ace’s POV: 

Hi, I’m Ace Henderson, 23 of age. 

I have fair skin, grey bluey eyes, black short hair, a tattoo of angel wings on my back and I’m fit. 

My height is 6’ foot 2, I just moved into the city to start over. 

I’m a Hybrid of Angel and Wolf, I have a gang mixed with Angel’s and Wolf’s.

I’m single but have had a few relationships before but none of them lasted long, my last ex broke my heart into a million of pieces. 

My favourite colours are white, black and grey, hobbies are working out, partying, boxing, bull riding and training to kill demons. 

I love animals, my gang and I own a Beagle called Lucky.

Lexi’s POV: 

When I arrived to work, it’s 8pm I’m working till 5am tonight which is closing time. 

The club is big with two stories, bar downstairs and dance floor upstairs with dark red leather couches, the bar has marble benches.

Downstairs where the bar is there are balcony’s, the stairs are black carpeted.   

It’s usually busy now, I get 10 minute breaks after a few hours serving drinks. 

Once I arrived inside my work, I walked to the staff room there is a small white fridge for our food to have during breaks. The club stocks it for us, our staff room has blue walls with black leather couches and a few valet armchairs. 

I put my bag away in my locker that is white and made of wood, one of the guy’s that I’m working with tonight walked into the room. 

“Oh, hello Lexi” He smiled towards me.  

“Hey there Sam, ready for a long shift ahead?” I asked him. 

“Sure am, it pays the bills” He answered. 

When Sam and I left the staff room, I opened the bar it then started fill up with people but one guy caught my attention, he is quite attractive and tall I’m guessing 6’foot? And those eyes wow.  

The guy was walking towards to the bar, he sat down in the middle, I moved to the middle. 

I examined the cute guys face he looks exhausted as. 

“Rough day?” I asked him. 

“Rough year pretty girl” He answered. 

“Drink?” I asked. 

“Scotch whisky please” The guy responded. 

I turned around to where the drinks and glasses are kept, I got the whisky down from the shelve and poured it into the glass. 

“Here you go, on the house” I smiled at him. 

“I’m Ace Henderson by the way” He told me. 

“Nice to meet you, I’m Lexi Smith enjoy your drink” I replied. 

I then walked to the other part of the bar to see Sam hitting on some brunette chick that is sitting at the bar with her friend who looks bored out of her mind unfortunate thing. 

“Well you look bored” I said to the girl. 

“Oh yeah, I don’t even want to be here my friend dragged me out” She replied. 

“Want another Cider?” I asked. 

“Yes, please will be here all night” She responded. 

I turned around to where the Cider’s are kept and opened it then gave it to the girl, after I looked over to see Ace with another Whisky he is still where he was before. 

He looked up and gave me a soft smile then got off the bar stool then walked upstairs.

When I got upstairs to where the dance floor is, I saw some of my gang here we are on business. 

The room is full of people making out, dancing and drinking, I could feel the heat coming off from all the people. 

Some of the Warlocks have been dealing with humans in the club which isn’t good, I saw a guy walk out from a room that has two big red valet curtains. 

So, I gave one of my gang members the signals to get ready, I walked through the dancing bodies to get to the red curtains.

When I reached the two big red curtains, I opened them to find a group of Warlocks talking to a human girl who looks like an 18-year-old.  

Lexi? Is she part of the dealing? 

Lexi’s POV: 

I got sent up to the dance part of the club because there was a deal going on, I’m in the middle of 3 guys who look like Army Cadets but just tougher than me I feel a bit small now. 

“All I’m saying is that whatever you guys are selling in this club has to stop or it will get shut down” I told them. 

“Do you think that my mates and I are going to listen to a girl that works behind a bar? No, we are not so keep your mouth shut and this nightclub will be safe and we also run it” The leader replied to me. 

“Hey, don’t you ever speak to her like that, Lexi is trying to keep your club safe” I heard Ace say from behind the group.

Ace had 3 guys with him all in black and gold clothing with weapons, what the hell is going on here? 

(An hour later) 

I woke up in the staff room, what happened did I pass out or something? 

I looked over from the couches that I woke up on to see Ace asleep on one of the armchairs, so I tried to sit up but my head started to spin.

Ace shot up off the armchair I didn’t see him wake up, he came back from the sink with a glass of water along with two painkillers. 

Ace sat down on the other part of the couch and handed me the glass with water in it then the painkillers, I took them and sat the empty glass down onto the floor. 

He took my hand into his, Ace’s hand felt warm and soft. 

“What happened?” I asked

“You got knocked out by one of the guys you were talking to, so I carried you off the floor where you passed out on” He answered. 

(After work) 

Ace walked me to my car, I drive a black WRX 

“So, are you going to be okay?” I heard him ask me softly.

I got my car keys out from my bag and unlocked the car, I put my bag on the passenger seat. 

“Yeah I’ll be alright thanks for asking and making sure that I’m okay” I smiled.

Ace bent down to kiss me softly on the cheek, he then pulled my body into a warm embrace. 

Damn he smells so good like cookies and sandalwood, I feel intoxicated from Ace’s sent in an enjoyable way. 

We both pulled away from the embrace, Ace looked down and smiled lightly at me. 

“I’ll come and pop by to your place to see how you’re feeling soon” Ace told me. 

“Do you know where I live?” I asked.

“Yes, I do” Ace answered. 

“How though?” I asked him. 

“That’s for me to know and for you to find out how” He responded.

When I arrived home, I saw Ajax’s white Ute parked in the small driveway, so I parked my car on the side of our street. 

The apartment block that my mate and I live in is modern painted white on the outside, it has blue paint inside and it’s big. 

It has a lobby downstairs with two reception desks’ that run 24/7, the body guards are very nice gentlemen who are welcoming. 

Where the lobby is, there are stairs and elevators that go up to the apartments, I normally take one of the elevators after a long work shift. 

The inside of my flat has white walls for the kitchen, it has two bathrooms in each bedroom.

My bedroom is painted with purple walls, a flat screen TV on the wall facing my queen-sized bed that has blue sheets and a black doona with lots of pillows and a window facing some of the city buildings and I have black carpet for the floor.

Ajax’s room has blue painted walls, a window facing the beach, with a flat screen TV and white carpet for the floor. 

The kitchen is big enough for 3 to 2 people, once I got up to my apartment floor I got out the housekeys out of my bag. 

When I reached inside of the apartment, I saw black heels with a red backing on the bottom and white basketball shoes Ajax must have invited his girlfriend over to stay the night.  

I walked into my room to get ready for bed, once I got changed into my P’Js which is a black t-shirt and white booty shorts. 

After I walked out of my room to get something to eat I heard a light knock on the front door, I opened it to see Ace standing in front of me. 

“Hello you” He smirked.  

“Hey, come on in” I smiled. 

Ace walked inside, I closed the door behind me he started to look around the apartment. 

“Lovely place you have “He told me. 

“Thanks, my friend and I saved up during school to move in together” I replied. 

“Oh, cool I moved around to different city’s when I was a teenager” Ace told me. 

“Do you have any family?” I asked. 

“When I was 12 my parents were killed in a demon attack, so I packed all my things and left home” Ace responded. 

“I know how you feel, my mum took her own life when I was 14” I told him. 

“That must have been hard for you” Ace replied. 

“It was, I had my nana to look after me because dad wasn’t in a good state when mum died” I sighed. 

“Oh, well you have me now too” He smiled. 

I felt my cheeks flush with warmth, guess I’m blushing now. 

“Thanks, it means a lot. Ajax is the only person in my life that kept me strong when I was going through hell” I replied.

“Because of your mother’s death or?” Ace asked softly. 

“Yeah that and I also was hospitalized when I was 17, from depression.” I answered.  

“That must have been the hardest part of your life” He replied. 

“The only people who came to visit me in hospital were Ajax my best friend and this may sound crazy but also my dead mother I could see her” I sighed. 

“That doesn’t sound crazy at all, things in this world aren’t what they seem Lexi” Ace told me. 

“What do you mean by that?” I asked. 

“You might want to sit down or something before I tell you” He answered. 

I walked into the lounge room and sat on the black leather couch, Ace sat next to me. 

So, I waited in silence for him to tell me about my question. 

“Okay here it goes, well what I meant is that this world is not what you think. It’s full of supernatural beings mixed with humans like you” Ace told me. 

 “Are you crazy? That’s impossible” I asked. 

“No, I’m not crazy all the stories and movies you’ve seen are true” He responded. 

My head started to thump from what Ace told me, I did start to notice abnormal things around the place.

I heard Ace sigh as he got up off from the couch, he walked to the side of the room to give me some space to gather the information. 

“Ace, I believe you sorry for calling you crazy” I said to him. 

“It’s okay, I’m glad you believe me because I would never lie to you” Ace replied.

“I’m tired, do you want to stay or?” I asked him. 

“I should get going, have training in the morning but I’ll message you later” Ace answered. 

The next day,

Sunday. 

Ace’s POV:

I woke up to the sound of an alarm, one of my gang members must have tripped the house one somehow. 

After I got out of my double bed, that has black sheets, two pillows one white and the other blue. 

It has a gold doona, when I walked to my bathroom that’s joined onto my room. 

My bathroom is medium size, with a shower on the left side of the sink and a toilet on the right side. 

There is a mirror cabinet above my sink that has my things in it, I striped out of my boxer shorts and got into the shower. 

I felt the warm water go all over my body, showers are the best way to think about things and Lexi just came up in my mind. 

When I finished in the shower, I grabbed my green soft towel and dried myself off. 

My room has gold walls, a window viewing one of the pools that the apartment block owns and a flat screen TV facing my bed. I also have grey carpet for the bedroom floor. 

The window has blinds that are a light shade of blue, I got out my training clothes that are black with a dash of gold.

After getting dressed I walked down to the training roomwhere my gang and I train every Sunday morning before breakfast. 

The training room has a shelf full of weapons on each side, there are black mats that gymnastics people use. 

I picked out my favourite weapon that is use for training only, it is a small to medium knife that is semi sharp with patterns on it sometimes they light up when using the blade. 

When I walked to the punching bags area, I put the knife in my back pocket and started to warm up. 

Half way through training, I heard some of the other gang members enter the room.

The walls of our training room are white and black with three windows looking over the city, it smells like fresh paint and saltwater I love it. 

They used this room for storing old ships because the city is near the local beach, I walked over to the mini fridge that has water bottles in it I took one of the bottles and took a sip of the cool refreshing water. 

After I put the cap back onto the bottle, I walked over to the knife throwing part of the room to practice my throwing skills I also use an arrow too that’s part of a bow and arrow pack. 

I stood in front of the fake attacker carboard demon, so I started to focus on my breathing before throwing the knife into the carboard. 

I closed my eyes then took a deep breath in and out, I opened both of my eyes threw the knife towards the demon and it landed near the heart so I moved closer and threw the arrow to the heart and it settled into it. 

” Ace, there are 3 police man that need to see you” I heard one of my mates say to me. 

“Who?’ I asked him. 

“Not sure the guy’s name because they didn’t tell me” He answered. 

“Okay I’ll see them, where are they?” I asked. 

“Follow me and I’ll show you where” He smiled.

I followed the guy out of the training room and through the massive hallway that has gold painted walls, the room smells like roses that are at the end of it. 

I came across three guys that wanted to see me, one looked like he hadn’t slept in days he had wrinkles at the bottom of both eyes. The other two looked annoyed but why?

“Sorry for interrupting your training session but something has happened to a person that works at Wicked Lounge where the dealing went down last night” The tired guy told me in a sad tone of voice. 

“What happened?” I asked worried thinking of Lexi. 

“We found a dead body that was a male in the parking lotbehind a car and a bite mark on the neck” The tired one responded. 

“But that’s impossible because it’s not vampire territory at the club” I replied. 

“Yes, but somehow one of them attacked an innocent bartender that was working with a girl” One of the annoyed guy told me in a pissed off tone. 

“Sam was his name, poor bloke he didn’t do anything wrong to anyone that night” I sighed. 

“He was hitting on a girl that was at the bar, turns out she is a vampire and so the head vampire founded out that’s how Sam died” The tired guy replied. 

“Okay, well thank you for letting me know means a lot and I’ll tell Lexi” I said. 

“That’s okay, we better get going to question witness’s” The tired cop replied. 

After the 3 cops left, I walked back to my room to get changed out of my training clothes and into some black jeans, a white t-shirt with a grey hoodie over it. 

I left my apartment block to go and tell Lexi the news about her Saturday night shift’s that she does with Sam, I started to walk down the stone pathway because I live near Lexi’s. 

The weather outside feels cold, it’s overcast today with rain along with a thunderstorm my kind of weather to be out in I know what you’re thinking crazy right? But this type of weather brings out some of the vampires out and other things that start trouble. 

Once I arrived at Lexi’s, I walked inside apartment building to the lobby so I can get up to see Lexi I got into one of the elevators and pressed level 3 so I waited while it was moving up to the level. 

When the elevator stopped and both doors opened, I walked out of it and down the hallway. I came across Lexi’s door it’s number 4, my stomach started to futter with butterflies yes, I like Lexi even though I met her last night but it feels like I’ve known her for ages.

I knock lightly on the white door, then heard movement from the other side probably Lexi or her mate Ajax who I haven’t met yet the door suddenly opened to find Lexi still half asleep she looks so cute with her hair all messy and that little yawn Lexi just did. 

“Morning Lexi” I smiled at her softly then pulled her into my arms. 

I felt her arms go around my waist because I’m tall it’s cute the way Lexi hugs me, she let go of me and looked up into my eyes she is so tiny compared to me. 

“How was training?” She asked. 

“It was good thank you, how did you sleep last night?” I asked. 

“I slept okay, come on in sorry my kitchen is a mess this morning had to clean up my dog’s poop that she did and Ajax got up before me to go to gym” Lexi told me. 

I gave her a soft smile and entered the flat, the kitchen is a mess but I don’t mind Lexi moved passed me to get to her kitchen. I looked at the shorts that Lexi are wearing that shape her bottom perfectly, her legs are also perfect yes, I sound like a perv but can’t help it. 

“Do you want me to help you clean up or?” I asked Lexi who was making breakfast. 

“No, it’s okay, I’ll do it later but thank you for asking” She answered. 

“You’re welcome, so I came to tell you that Sam got attacked last night outside the club by a vampire because the girl who he was hitting on was a vampire and that’s how Sam got attacked” I told Lexi.  

I heard her sigh as she made the toast that has a chocolate spread on it, Lexi sat at the small brown table after putting her breakfast on a small white plate. Lexi took one bite of the toast, she looked at me with tears welling up in her eyes.

“Lexi, come here” I told her. 

She got off her seat and hugged my waist again, I ran my hand through her hair and told Lexi it’s going to be okay. Lexi has been through enough, she needs me to keep her safe. 

“I’m going to have a shower, feel free to watch TV or even have something to eat” Lexi told me and then left the room.

I walked back to the kitchen and stared cleaning it up for Lexi, while cleaning up I heard the door open and close looks like Ajax is home. I put the last plate that I washed on the rack, then turned around to see Ajax taking off his runners. 

“Oh, hey man you must be Ace” Ajax smiled at me.

“You must be Ajax” I replied.

“That’s me so, how are you?” He asked trying to make conversation with me. 

“Yeah, I’m okay thanks and you?” I asked. 

“Tired from my workout so I’m going back to bed it was good meeting you” Ajax respond. 

He walked down to his room, I sat at the small table that’s in the kitchen and waited for Lexi to get ready. I want to take Lexi out for the day so I can get to know her better. 

I heard Lexi come out of her room, she is now standing at the other end of the table wow Lexi looks good in active wear yes, I’m being cheeky again not my fault that she is a babe.

“Thank you for cleaning up the kitchen and I also heard you talking to Ajax, what do you think of him?” Lexi asked me as she put on her white runners.

“Yeah he was nice bit shy though” I answered. 

“Ajax takes a few days to come around to new people” Lexi told me. 

“Oh, okay fair enough I used to be like that still am at times” I smiled.  

“You weren’t shy when we first met at the club last night” Lexi smirked and grabbed her phone along with wallet and house keys. 

“That’s because I can trust you” I blushed a bit.

“So, do you want to go out for lunch?” Lexi asked me. 

“Yes, I was just going to ask you that” I replied. 

“Feel like walking or?” She asked. 

“Let’s walk in the city is just around the corner” I responded.

“Yeah it is, come on let’s go” Lexi told me.

When we both got out of the apartment block, Lexi was texting someone on her iPhone 5s probably one of her other friends. It’s still overcast out and cold so I put my hood over my head to keep warm. 

“You don’t like the cold much aye” I heard Lexi say to me.

“Sometimes just not when it’s daytime, I stay out most of the nights” I replied.

“So, you don’t sleep?” She whispered.

“No, not as much at times I do” I answered. 

“Can I ask you something?” Lexi asked softly. 

“Yeah, what is it?” I smiled.

“Okay this may sound weird and personal because we just met but are you a supernatural being?” She asked.

“Yes, I am” I sighed.

“What are you?” Lexi asked tenderly.

“I’m a mix of Angel and Wolf, I got turned when I was 16” I replied. 

“Oh, that must have been hard for you to go through that” Lexi sighed.  

“Yeah it was but when I got bitten, I was sick in hospital from Tuberculosis a long time ago I’ve been ageless since and watch the people I love or care about age” I told her.

Lexi and I finally came across a café called Red, it has outdoor seating of wooden chairs placed around a medium sized black table. There are about 5 such sets of them outside the café. 

When we got inside it smells like pancakes, pies, sausage rolls and other foods that are making me hungrier, inside the café has booths with blue lather seats with big and small grey tables, the counter has a pay along with order at the same time I’m paying for Lexi’s as well as my order. 

“I can pay for my own if you want?” Lexi asked me.

“No, I’ll pay for both of ours you go find a table okay” I smiled softly.

Lexi stood on her tippy toes and kissed my cheek then went to find us a table, as I was ordering I looked at the menu that’s up on the wall behind their counter. After I picked out Lexi’s food which is a cheese burger with the lot and mine is a sausage roll with a salad on the side.

“May I take your order?” I heard a girl ask me, she looks like 17-18 with hungover eyes obviously, a party teenager.

“Yes please, I will have a sausage roll with the salad on the side and the cheese burger with the lot” I answered.

“Any drinks?” She asked.

“Can I please have two lemonades, thanks” I told the waitress.

“That will be, twenty dollars thank you” the girl replied.

I gave her the money then walked over to where Lexi is sitting she is so beautiful I’m going to make Lexi my girl, we both need each other well I need her. 

“I got you a cheese burger with the lot, two glasses of lemonade and a sausage roll with salad on the side for me” I told Lexi as I sat down next to her.

She smells like vanilla and cherries from her perfume, I could see Lexi’s tattoo on her arm it’s a dreamcatcher whoever did it is good because the details are amazing also suits Lexi.

“Who did your tattoo? It’s pretty cool” I asked Lexi.

She looked at where it was and smiled because I noticed it.

“Two blocks down from here, do you have any?” She asked.

“Yes, one on my back and want to get another one soon” I responded.  

“I can take you to the guy where I got mine done after lunch if you want?” Lexi asked.

“Sounds good, are you going to get another one while I get mine?” I smirked.

“Yes, I want to” She blushed.

I looked and saw the food approaching on a brown tray with the drinks on it, our food looks amazing and smells deliciousthe waitress gave Lexi and I a soft smile.

“Cheese burger with the lot?” She asked.

“Yes, that’s mine thank you it looks good” I heard Lexi say to the waitress.

“And here is your sausage with the salad sir” The waitress said to me, she then put the two glasses of lemonade onto the table.

“Thank you” I told her.

“You’re welcome, enjoy” She smiled then left.

I took a bite of my lunch, wow that’s the best sausage roll I’ve ever had and it’s homemade, Lexi took a huge bite from her burger glad I ordered Lexi the right thing.

As we were enjoying our lunch, I heard the door of the café door open to see more people coming in for lunch and drinks.

“So, how was your burger?” I asked Lexi who just finished her lunch. 

“It was so good, thank you for getting me it” She responded.

“You’re welcome, so how are doing when I told you about Sam this morning?” I asked Lexi softy.

“Honestly, I feel like shit Sam and I were close” She sighed with sadness in her eyes.

 “Lexi, I’m always here for you no matter what and you can tell me anything” I told her.

“Thanks Ace, means a lot been awhile since someone has told me that” Lexi replied.

“You’re welcome, you are such a beautiful girl with a heart of gold who deserves the best in life” I smiled.

Lexi blushed as she looked down at the table, I really want to kiss her soft lips but not till we get to know each other more.   

“So, what do you want to do for the rest of the day?” Lexi asked me.

“Whatever you want to do” I answered.

“I need to go to the mall to get a few things” Lexi smiled.

“Let’s go then, I’ll look around while you’re shopping” I replied.

After we left the cafe, the mall is just down the road I could feel a vibe coming from Lexi that’s mixed with nerves and fatigue. 

“Are you okay?” I asked Lexi.

“Yeah, I just get tired easily” She responded.

“Can I hold your hand?” I asked Lexi softly.

“Sure, you can Ace” Lexi replied then put her hand into mine.

Lexi’s hand is warm, soft and gentle. I felt my heart beating fast as she intertwined her fingers around mine I’ve never felt this way about anyone before.

When we finally arrived at the mall, it has doors that self-open, the inside is big and has 10 floors.

The mall is painted with a light blue shade on the outside and yellow in the inside, I saw people swarming in all directions. I could feel the heat coming off from the crowd, Lexi grip on my hand was tighter she must hate crowds.

“You don’t like crowds?” I asked her softly.

“I do just not today, something isn’t right” Lexi answered.

She is not wrong about that, I feel it too my phone vibrated in my black leather jacket that I put on when I left my apartment.

I took my phone out of the pocket, it is a text message from one of my gang members. 

Ryder:

Hey man, where are you? There is an attack at the local mall.

Me: 

I’m at the mall with Lexi, who is the attacker?

Ryder:

Some of the vampires, they are after Lexi.

I put my phone back in my pocket, Lexi let go of my hand and stopped walking then all the power in the mall shut off oh no this isn’t good at all. 

“What’s happening?” Lexi asked me.

“Stay here run if something or someone comes okay, I’ll go and check it out” I answered.

“No don’t leave me here Ace, I’m scared” Lexi told me softly almost in a whisper.

I pulled her into a tight embrace, she looked up at me and the next thing I knew was we were both leaning in…. BANG, a bullet went into Lexi’s upper arm she screamed in pain and fell onto the ground. My body was in shock I couldn’t move but I felt myself transforming into my wolf.  

Lexi’s POV:

I opened my eyes to find myself in a room, the ceiling is painted red and gold I looked around to see that I’m on a red leather couch with a gold silk blanket over my body.

The room feels warm, smells like cookies and chai my upper arm is wrapped up in a white bandage. I heard someone come into the room it is a girl in her teens 18 maybe, she has a short red dress on her hair colour is brown and the same length as mine I noticed she has a lion bracelet going up her right wrist.

“Oh good, you’re awake I’m Veronica but call me Nikki” The girl smiled softy.

“Nice to meet you, I’m Lexi how did I get here?” I asked Veronica. 

“After the attack on the mall that was caused by some of the vampires, Ace brought you here so I can keep an eye on you”She answered. 

“So, I’m guessing that you bandaged my arm?” I smiled. 

“Yes, I did and took the bullet out of it while you were passed out I gave you anaesthetic” Veronica replied.

“Thanks, where is Ace?” I sighed.

“He is in the other room, I’ll go and get him” Veronica told me and left the room.

I laid my head on the black silk pillow, the pain in my arm is slowly easing away so I rolled over facing the back of the couch. 

“Lexi?” I heard Ace ask me in a soft tone so I sat back up to face him. 

“Hey, thanks for bringing me here” I blushed. 

“You’re welcome, how’s your arm feeling?” Ace asked.

“It feels okay, the pain is slowly going” I asked.

Ace pulled out a first aid box that was under the couch, he opened it and got out a fresh bandage for my arm a loud scream came from outside the room. 

I looked at Ace as he shot up, he walked to the other side of the room and pressed a red button I saw a rack of weapons come up. 

Ace picked out a sharp long looking knife, then a small one he turned around to look at me. 

“I’ll be back, you stay in here okay” Ace told me and left the room. 

I was left in the room with nothing but my thoughts, Ajax came into my mind I need to let him know where I am, I need to find my bag it must be somewhere in this massive room. 

So, I got off the couch to search for my belongings my coat was hanging up on a rack along with my bag my phone was sitting on a small table next to the rack. 

I unlocked the phone and went to messages to find Ajax’s name which is at the top.

Me:

Hey Ajax, I’m safe and I’ll be home soon x.

I waited for him to reply, Ace hasn’t returned yet should I go and look for him? My phone vibrated

Ajax: 

Glad you’re okay, when you come back home we need to talk xx.

Ace’s POV:

I cleaned some of the blood off my two weapons, there was a demon attack in the training room half of my gang is murdered and so I killed the demon who looked like my dad because they can shape shift. 

“You okay?” I heard a girl ask me.

I turned around from my weapons to see a beautiful girl in her early twenties standing in front of me, she has medium Ombre hair with layers and is wearing all black clothing with white sport shoes.

Her scent smells like cotton candy, she is in decent shape I noticed that the girl is carrying a weapon that looks like a small dagger knife in her front jean pocket. 

“No to be honest, I just witnessed half of my gang get killed but thanks for asking” I responded.

“I’m Roxanna by the way, you must be Ace I hear a lot about you because you’re a legend back home” She told me. 

“My parents were legend’s not me, I will be one though just like them” I replied.

“Oh, I thought it was you, sorry” Roxanna apologized.

I looked at Roxanna and saw fear in her eyes, crap I must have sounded harsh didn’t mean to just upset.

“It’s okay, you didn’t know about my parents they got killed in a fight like the one that just happened here” I replied. 

“Your parents must have been good to you and the rest of your family” Roxanna told me.

“They brought me up well it must have been hard to rise one child back then” I smirked.

I noticed Roxanna looking towards my stomach so I looked down to see a big blood stain coming through my shirt, shit this is not good Roxanna walked up to me and helped me back to the room where Lexi is. 

One we got to the room, Roxanna opened the door I couldn’t see Lexi anywhere she probably went home so I sat on the couch and took off my top for Roxanna to fix up my stomach.

She had the first aid box in one hand and a glass of water in the other, Roxy looks exhausted but still beautiful. 

"Okay looks like you need stitches I'll get right on to that hold still" Roxy told me and got some antiseptic along with a white bandage and stuff for the stitches. 

Lexi's POV: 

Once I got home from Ace's, I saw Ajax sitting on the sofa with Sunny watching football, my heart started beating fast and butterflies formed in my stomach this is strange I've never felt this way towards Ajax. 

"Oh, hey didn't hear you come in" I heard Ajax say to me. 

"Who's wining?" I asked him about the football match.

"Not sure I'm not really watching it, my other show just finished and the footy came on after" Ajax answered.

"So you wanted to talk to me about something?" I asked.

"Come and sit down" He told me.

I sat next to Ajax, he looked right at me I could smell his sent and Ajax smells like the new cologne he brought, my whole body was shaking because I'm nervous.

"Well you know how we have been best friends since well most of our lives, my feelings for you have grown for you Lexi" Ajax said to me.

"But you're dating Roxanna" I replied.

"She broke up with me last because she has noticed the way I look at you" He told me.

"Oh, I didn't know that are you okay?" I sighed.

"I'm okay, Lexi may I take you out for dinner?" Ajax asked.

"Yes you may, I would love that" I smiled.

Ajax's POV:

I'm so happy that Lexi said yes that I can take her out on a dinner date, Lexi is in the shower at the moment so I got her medications ready so she can take them afterwards. 

I heard the shower stop, Lexi came out into the kitchen in her dressing gown and hair wrapped up in a towel. 

"Thanks for getting my medications ready for me, I have a therapy session tomorrow morning at 11am" She told me. 

"Want me to come with you?" I asked. 

"Nah it's okay maybe next session you can, so where are you taking me out for dinner? Lexi blushed. 

"It's a surprise, you'll have to wait" I responded. 

"Oh, okay that sounds good to me" She replied. 

After Lexi took her medications, we are having takeaway for dinner which is Chinese food I ordered the lemon chicken and Lexi got sweet and sour chicken along with pork buns. 

"How's your food?" Lexi asked me. 

"It's so good, how's yours?" I asked her. 

"Mine is absolutely amazing" She answered. 

I took a pork bun out of the takeaway bag and put it on my plate, I'm so hungry tonight Lexi looked at me as I ate the rest of my food. 

"Wow you must of skipped lunch today, never seen you this hungry before" Lexi said to me. 

"Yeah I did skip lunch, had two clients today and didn't get to have a lunch break" I replied.

"You can have the last of the pork buns, I've had two already" She smiled.

"Okay, thanks" I smirked.

I took them and ate them straight away, Lexi started giggling softy because I'm eating like a pig I finished my food and put my plate in the dishwasher. 

As I put my plate away, I felt Lexi come up behind me and put her hands on my hips so I turned around and kissed her passionately. 

Lexi's POV:

Ajax and I pulled away for air, I could feel my cheeks go red from blushing, I wrapped my arms around his waist again. 

"You had no idea how long I've wanted to kiss you Lexi" Ajax said softly. 

"How long?" I asked. 

"Since we started being friends, I always wanted you" He responded. 

"Really?" I asked in surprise. 

"Yes, I've never felt this way about anyone not even Roxy" Ajax replied. 

"You never said anything about it to me" I told him. 

"Because I was afraid it would ruin our friendship that's why I didn't tell you" Ajax sighed in a exhausted way. 

I sat on the bench top, he stood in front of me and wrapped his arms around my waist Ajax makes me feel safe from everything around us, my mind wondered to Ace I hope everything is okay. 

The next day, 

Monday: 

Ace's POV:

I woke up next to Roxy, she stayed the night to help me with my wound because the bandage needs to be replaced every hour so I didn't get much sleep last night and had to lay on my back which is uncomfortable for me. 

My stomach hurts so much from the stitches, I tried to get up but couldn't so I woke up Roxy to help me get to the bathroom.

"What is it?" She asked softly. 

"I have to use the bathroom, can you help me?" I asked. 

Roxy took my hand and walked me into my bathroom, I looked at the bandage and then looked at Roxy. 

"What is it?" She asked. 

"I need your help" I answered. 

"With?" Roxy asked. 

"My shower" I sighed. 

"Oh, okay um I'll turn it on for you and get your towel out and ready for you" She blushed.

"Okay thanks, are you able to put a fresh bandage on my stomach after?" I asked. 

"Yeah I can, I'll get your shower ready for you now" Roxy smiled.

"Can I ask you something?" I asked. 

"Sure" She smiled. 

"Can I kiss you?" I blushed. 

"Yes" Roxy answered. 

I stood in front of Roxy, leaned in and kissed her softly I felt fireworks along with passion  her arms were around my waist so I picked Roxy up and placed her on the bench. 

Roxy started kissing my neck, I moaned softly in her ear she kept going down to my collarbone and then stopped for air we were both panting from the heated make out session we just had. 

"Wow, that was amazing Roxy" I told her. 

She looked at me and smiled softly, Roxy kissed my cheek it's time for my shower now so she left the bathroom to give me some privacy. 

Lexi's POV: 

I got out of bed to get ready for my therapy session that I have this morning, Ajax left early for work he is doing a cardio workout class I noticed a piece of paper on the kitchen bench. 

Lexi, I'll be home when you get back from your therapy session hope it goes well see you after. 

From Ajax. 

I smiled at the note, my stomach started rumbling from hunger so turned my toaster on and put three slices of bread into it after doing that I grabbed a white plate from the cupboard along with my hazelnut spread.

After finishing my breakfast, I put my plate into the dishwasher and walked to the bathroom to clean my teeth before I leave. 

Saturday. 

Lexi’s POV:

Hey, I’m Lexi Smith, 20 of age.

I have tanned skin, light blue eyes, long dark blue hair that I dyed, a bellybutton piercing, I’m fit and have a tattoo of a dreamcatcher on my right arm. 

I live in a two-bedroom modern flat in the city with my best friend Ajax, we both moved into the CBD for work. 

I’m a bartender at one of the top local nightclubs called Wicked Lounge, I’ve been there for a year and I love working there.

Ajax is a personal trainer, I’ve known Ajax since year 7 I was the outsider of the school and he noticed me out of everyone so we became best friends.

I’m single but had boyfriends before, my last few relationships were a bit toxic one of my exes used to hit me and verbal abused me.  My other one was a complete nut case, he had a few mental issues. 

I adore animals, I own a Husky called Sunny, my favourite colours are black, gold and pink.

My hobbies are working out, shopping, skateboarding, partying and road trips.

When I was 14, my mum took her own life because her depression was bad. My dad didn’t handle her passing very well he started drinking, staying out all night going around pubs with his mates. I did my bar course online.  

Music is my drug, I was hospitalized from psychoticdepression at 17 it came after four years after mum passed away. Ajax was there by my side keeping me strong. 

Ajax’s POV: 

Hey, I’m Ajax West, 20 of age. 

I have fair skin, light green eyes, brown short hair, a tattoo of an anchor on my left wrist and I’m fit.

I’m living with my best friend in two bed room flat in the city, Lexi would have mentioned that already. I used to be in the navy that’s what my tattoo stands for got it after I left. 

My height is 6’foot yeah I’m tall ha-ha. 

I’m in a relationship with a girl called Roxanna, we met at a party. 

I work as a personal trainer, love helping my clients reach their goals in fitness I’m a laid-back coach. 

Lexi and I met in year 7, I chose her out from everyone because Lexi stood out from the crowd so we have been friends ever since but all friendships had their ups and downs. When Lexi went into hospital from depression I was the only who visited and stayed by her side.

Ace’s POV: 

Hi, I’m Ace Henderson, 23 of age. 

I have fair skin, grey bluey eyes, black short hair, a tattoo of angel wings on my back and I’m fit. 

My height is 6’ foot 2, I just moved into the city to start over. 

I’m a Hybrid of Angel and Wolf, I have a gang mixed with Angel’s and Wolf’s.

I’m single but have had a few relationships before but none ofthem last long, my last ex broke my heart into a million of pieces. 

My favourite colours are white, black and grey, hobbies are working out, partying, boxing, bull riding and training to kill demons. 

I love animals, my gang and I own a Beagle called Lucky.

Lexi’s POV: 

When I arrived to work, it’s 8pm I’m working till 5am tonight which is closing time. 

The club is big with two stories, bar downstairs and dance floor upstairs with dark red leather couches, the bar has marble benches.

Downstairs where the bar is there are balcony’s, the stairs are black carpeted.   

It’s usually busy now, I get 10 minute breaks after a few hours serving drinks. 

Once I arrived inside my work, I walked to the staff room there is a small white fridge for our food to have during breaks. The club stocks it for us, our staff room has blue walls with black leather couches and a few valet armchairs. 

I put my bag away in my locker that is white and made of wood, one of the guy’s that I’m working with tonight walked into the room. 

“Oh, hello Lexi” He smiled towards me.  

“Hey there Sam, ready for a long shift ahead?” I asked him. 

“Sure am, it pays the bills” He answered. 

When Sam and I left the staff room, I opened the bar it then started fill up with people but one guy caught my attention, he is quite attractive and tall I’m guessing 6’foot? And those eyes wow.  

The guy was walking towards to the bar, he sat down in the middle, I moved to the middle. 

I examined the cute guys face he looks exhausted as. 

“Rough day?” I asked him. 

“Rough year pretty girl” He answered. 

“Drink?” I asked. 

“Scotch whisky please” The guy responded. 

I turned around to where the drinks and glasses are kept, I got the whisky down from the shelve and poured it into the glass. 

“Here you go, on the house” I smiled at him. 

“I’m Ace Henderson by the way” He told me. 

“Nice to meet you, I’m Lexi Smith enjoy your drink” I replied. 

I then walked to the other part of the bar to see Sam hitting on some brunette chick that is sitting at the bar with her friend who looks bored out of her mind unfortunate thing. 

“Well you look bored” I said to the girl. 

“Oh yeah, I don’t even want to be here my friend dragged me out” She replied. 

“Want another Cider?” I asked. 

“Yes, please will be here all night” She responded. 

I turned around to where the Cider’s are kept and opened it then gave it to the girl, after I looked over to see Ace with another Whisky he is still where he was before. 

He looked up and gave me a soft smile then got off the bar stool then walked upstairs.

When I got upstairs to where the dance floor is, I saw some of my gang here we are on business. 

The room is full of people making out, dancing and drinking, I could feel the heat coming off from all the people. 

Some of the Warlocks have been dealing with humans in the club which isn’t good, I saw a guy walk out from a room that has two big red valet curtains. 

So, I gave one of my gang members the signals to get ready, I walked through the dancing bodies to get to the red curtains.

When I reached the two big red curtains, I opened them to find a group of Warlocks talking to a human girl who looks like an 18-year-old.  

Lexi? Is she part of the dealing? 

Lexi’s POV: 

I got sent up to the dance part of the club because there was a deal going on, I’m in the middle of 3 guys who look like Army Cadets but just tougher than me I feel a bit small now. 

“All I’m saying is that whatever you guys are selling in this club has to stop or it will get shut down” I told them. 

“Do you think that my mates and I are going to listen to a girl that works behind a bar? No, we are not so keep your mouth shut and this nightclub will be safe and we also run it” The leader replied to me. 

“Hey, don’t you ever speak to her like that, Lexi is trying to keep your club safe” I heard Ace say from behind the group.

Ace had 3 guys with him all in black and gold clothing with weapons, what the hell is going on here? 

(An hour later) 

I woke up in the staff room, what happened did I pass out or something? 

I looked over from the couches that I woke up on to see Ace asleep on one of the armchairs, so I tried to sit up but my head started to spin.

Ace shot up off the armchair I didn’t see him wake up, he came back from the sink with a glass of water along with two painkillers. 

Ace sat down on the other part of the couch and handed me the glass with water in it then the painkillers, I took them and sat the empty glass down onto the floor. 

He took my hand into his, Ace’s hand felt warm and soft. 

“What happened?” I asked

“You got knocked out by one of the guys you were talking to, so I carried you off the floor where you passed out on” He answered. 

(After work) 

Ace walked me to my car, I drive a blue WRX 

“So, are you going to be okay?” I heard him ask me softly.

I got my car keys out from my bag and unlocked the car, I put my bag on the passenger seat. 

“Yeah I’ll be alright thanks for asking and making sure that I’m okay” I smiled.

Ace bent down to kiss me softly on the cheek, he then pulled my body into a warm embrace. 

Damn he smells so good like cookies and sandalwood, I feel intoxicated from Ace’s sent in an enjoyable way. 

We both pulled away from the embrace, Ace looked down and smiled lightly at me. 

“I’ll come and pop by to your place to see how you’re feeling soon” Ace told me. 

“Do you know where I live?” I asked.

“Yes, I do” Ace answered. 

“How though?” I asked him. 

“That’s for me to know and for you to find out how” He responded.

When I arrived home, I saw Ajax’s white Ute parked in the small driveway, so I parked my car on the side of our street. 

The apartment block that my mate and I live in is modern painted white on the outside, it has blue paint inside and it’s big. 

It has a lobby downstairs with two reception desks’ that run 24/7, the body guards are very nice gentlemen who are welcoming. 

Where the lobby is, there are stairs and elevators that go up to the apartments, I normally take one of the elevators after a long work shift. 

The inside of my flat has white walls for the kitchen, it has two bathrooms in each bedroom.

My bedroom is painted with purple walls, a flat screen TV on the wall facing my queen-sized bed that has blue sheets and a black doona with lots of pillows and a window facing some of the city buildings and I have black carpet for the floor.

Ajax’s room has blue painted walls, a window facing the beach, with a flat screen TV and white carpet for the floor. 

The kitchen is big enough for 3 to 2 people, once I got up to my apartment floor I got out the housekeys out of my bag. 

When I reached inside of the apartment, I saw black heels with a red backing on the bottom and white basketball shoesAjax must have invited his girlfriend over to stay the night.  

I walked into my room to get ready for bed, once I got changed into my P’Js which is a black t-shirt and white booty shorts. 

After I walked out of my room to get something to eat I heard a light knock on the front door, I opened it to see Ace standing in front of me. 

“Hello you” He smirked.  

“Hey, come on in” I smiled. 

Ace walked inside, I closed the door behind me he started to look around the apartment. 

“Lovely place you have “He told me. 

“Thanks, my friend and I saved up during school to move in together” I replied. 

“Oh, cool I moved around to different city’s when I was a teenager” Ace told me. 

“Do you have any family?” I asked. 

“When I was 12 my parents were killed in a car accident by some drunk driver, so I packed all my things and left home” Ace responded. 

“I know how you feel, my mum took her own life when I was 14” I told him. 

“That must have been hard for you” Ace replied. 

“It was, I had my nana to look after me because dad wasn’t in a good state when mum died” I sighed. 

“Oh, well you have me now too” He smiled. 

I felt my cheeks flush with warmth, guess I’m blushing now. 

“Thanks, it means a lot. Ajax is the only person in my life that kept me strong when I was going through hell” I replied.

“Because of your mother’s death or?” Ace asked softly. 

“Yeah that and I also was hospitalized when I was 17, from depression.” I answered.  

“That must have been the hardest part of your life” He replied. 

“The only people who came to visit me in hospital were Ajax my best friend and this may sound crazy but also my dead mother I could see her” I sighed. 

“That doesn’t sound crazy at all, things in this world aren’t what they seem Lexi” Ace told me. 

“What do you mean by that?” I asked. 

“You might want to sit down or something before I tell you” He answered. 

I walked into the lounge room and sat on the black leather couch, Ace sat next to me. 

So, I waited in silence for him to tell me about my question. 

“Okay here it goes, well what I meant is that this world is not what you think. It’s full of supernatural beings mixed with humans like you” Ace told me. 

 “Are you crazy? That’s impossible” I asked. 

“No, I’m not crazy all the stories and movies you’ve seen are true” He responded. 

My head started to thump from what Ace told me, I did start to notice abnormal things around the place.

I heard Ace sigh as he got up off from the couch, he walked to the side of the room to give me some space to gather the information. 

“Ace, I believe you sorry for calling you crazy” I said to him. 

“It’s okay, I’m glad you believe me because I would never lie to you” Ace replied.

“I’m tired, do you want to stay or?” I asked him. 

“I should get going, have training in the morning but I’ll message you later” Ace answered. 

The next day,

Sunday. 

Ace’s POV:

I woke up to the sound of an alarm, one of my gang members must have tripped the house one somehow. 

After I got out of my double bed, that has black sheets, two pillows one white and the other blue. 

It has a gold doona, when I walked to my bathroom that’s joined onto my room. 

My bathroom is medium size, with a shower on the left side of the sink and a toilet on the right side. 

There is a mirror cabinet above my sink that has my things in it, I striped out of my boxer shorts and got into the shower. 

I felt the warm water go all over my body, showers are the best way to think about things and Lexi just came up in my mind. 

When I finished in the shower, I grabbed my green soft towel and dried myself off. 

My room has gold walls, a window viewing one of the pools that the apartment block owns and a flat screen TV facing my bed. I also have grey carpet for the bedroom floor. 

The window has blinds that are a light shade of blue, I got out my training clothes that are black with a dash of gold.

After getting dressed I walked down to the training roomwhere my gang and I train every Sunday morning before breakfast. 

The training room has a shelf full of weapons on each side, there are black mats that gymnastics people use. 

I picked out my favourite weapon that is use for training only, it is a small to medium knife that is semi sharp with patterns on it sometimes they light up when using the blade. 

When I walked to the punching bags area, I put the knife in my back pocket and started to warm up. 

Half way through training, I heard some of the other gang members enter the room.

The walls of our training room are white and black with three windows looking over the city, it smells like fresh paint and saltwater I love it. 

They used this room for storing old ships because the city is near the local beach, I walked over to the mini fridge that has water bottles in it I took one of the bottles and took a sip of the cool refreshing water. 

After I put the cap back onto the bottle, I walked over to the knife throwing part of the room to practice my throwing skills I also use an arrow too that’s part of a bow and arrow pack. 

I stood in front of the fake attacker carboard demon, so I started to focus on my breathing before throwing the knife into the carboard. 

I closed my eyes then took a deep breath in and out, I opened both of my eyes threw the knife towards the demon and it landed near the heart so I moved closer and threw the arrow to the heart and it settled into it. 

” Ace, there are 3 police man that need to see you” I heard one of my mates say to me. 

“Who?’ I asked him. 

“Not sure the guy’s name because they didn’t tell me” He answered. 

“Okay I’ll see them, where are they?” I asked. 

“Follow me and I’ll show you where” He smiled.

I followed the guy out of the training room and through the massive hallway that has gold painted walls, the room smells like roses that are at the end of it. 

I came across three guys that wanted to see me, one looked like he hadn’t slept in days he had wrinkles at the bottom of both eyes. The other two looked annoyed but why?

“Sorry for interrupting your training session but something has happened to a person that works at Wicked Lounge where the dealing went down last night” The tired guy told me in a sad tone of voice. 

“What happened?” I asked worried thinking of Lexi. 

“We found a dead body that was a male in the parking lotbehind a car and a bite mark on the neck” The tired one responded. 

“But that’s impossible because it’s not vampire territory at the club” I replied. 

“Yes, but somehow one of them attacked an innocent bartender that was working with a girl” One of the annoyed guy told me in a pissed off tone. 

“Sam was his name, poor bloke he didn’t do anything wrong to anyone that night” I sighed. 

“He was hitting on a girl that was at the bar, turns out she is a vampire and so the head vampire founded out that’s how Sam died” The tired guy replied. 

“Okay, well thank you for letting me know means a lot and I’ll tell Lexi” I said. 

“That’s okay, we better get going to question witness’s” The tired cop replied. 

After the 3 cops left, I walked back to my room to get changed out of my training clothes and into some black jeans, a white t-shirt with a grey hoodie over it. 

I left my apartment block to go and tell Lexi the news about her Saturday night shift’s that she does with Sam, I started to walk down the stone pathway because I live near Lexi’s. 

The weather outside feels cold, it’s overcast today with rain along with a thunderstorm my kind of weather to be out in I know what you’re thinking crazy right? But this type of weather brings out some of the vampires out and other things that start trouble. 

Once I arrived at Lexi’s, I walked inside apartment building to the lobby so I can get up to see Lexi I got into one of the elevators and pressed level 3 so I waited while it was moving up to the level. 

When the elevator stopped and both doors opened, I walked out of it and down the hallway. I came across Lexi’s door it’s number 4, my stomach started to futter with butterflies yes, I like Lexi even though I met her last night but it feels like I’ve known her for ages.

I knock lightly on the white door, then heard movement from the other side probably Lexi or her mate Ajax who I haven’t met yet the door suddenly opened to find Lexi still half asleep she looks so cute with her hair all messy and that little yawn Lexi just did. 

“Morning Lexi” I smiled at her softly then pulled her into my arms. 

I felt her arms go around my waist because I’m tall it’s cute the way Lexi hugs me, she let go of me and looked up into my eyes she is so tiny compared to me. 

“How was training?” She asked. 

“It was good thank you, how did you sleep last night?” I asked. 

“I slept okay, come on in sorry my kitchen is a mess this morning had to clean up my dog’s poop that she did and Ajax got up before me to go to gym” Lexi told me. 

I gave her a soft smile and entered the flat, the kitchen is a mess but I don’t mind Lexi moved passed me to get to her kitchen. I looked at the shorts that Lexi are wearing that shape her bottom perfectly, her legs are also perfect yes, I sound like a perv but can’t help it. 

“Do you want me to help you clean up or?” I asked Lexi who was making breakfast. 

“No, it’s okay, I’ll do it later but thank you for asking” She answered. 

“You’re welcome, so I came to tell you that Sam got attacked last night outside the club by a vampire because the girl who he was hitting on was a vampire and that’s how Sam got attacked” I told Lexi.  

I heard her sigh as she made the toast that has a chocolate spread on it, Lexi sat at the small brown table after putting her breakfast on a small white plate. Lexi took one bite of the toast, she looked at me with tears welling up in her eyes.

“Lexi, come here” I told her. 

She got off her seat and hugged my waist again, I ran my hand through her hair and told Lexi it’s going to be okay. Lexi has been through enough, she needs me to keep her safe. 

“I’m going to have a shower, feel free to watch TV or even have something to eat” Lexi told me and then left the room.

I walked back to the kitchen and stared cleaning it up for Lexi, while cleaning up I heard the door open and close looks like Ajax is home. I put the last plate that I washed on the rack, then turned around to see Ajax taking off his runners. 

“Oh, hey man you must be Ace” Ajax smiled at me.

“You must be Ajax” I replied.

“That’s me so, how are you?” He asked trying to make conversation with me. 

“Yeah, I’m okay thanks and you?” I asked. 

“Tired from my workout so I’m going back to bed it was good meeting you” Ajax respond. 

He walked down to his room, I sat at the small table that’s in the kitchen and waited for Lexi to get ready. I want to take Lexi out for the day so I can get to know her better. 

I heard Lexi come out of her room, she is now standing at the other end of the table wow Lexi looks good in active wear yes, I’m being cheeky again not my fault that she is a babe.

“Thank you for cleaning up the kitchen and I also heard you talking to Ajax, what do you think of him?” Lexi asked me as she put on her white runners.

“Yeah he was nice bit shy though” I answered. 

“Ajax takes a few days to come around to new people” Lexi told me. 

“Oh, okay fair enough I used to be like that still am at times” I smiled.  

“You weren’t shy when we first met at the club last night” Lexi smirked and grabbed her phone along with wallet and house keys. 

“That’s because I can trust you” I blushed a bit.

“So, do you want to go out for lunch?” Lexi asked me. 

“Yes, I was just going to ask you that” I replied. 

“Feel like walking or?” She asked. 

“Let’s walk in the city is just around the corner” I responded.

“Yeah it is, come on let’s go” Lexi told me.

When we both got out of the apartment block, Lexi was texting someone on her iPhone 5s probably one of her other friends. It’s still overcast out and cold so I put my hood over my head to keep warm. 

“You don’t like the cold much aye” I heard Lexi say to me.

“Sometimes just not when it’s daytime, I stay out most of the nights” I replied.

“So, you don’t sleep?” She whispered.

“No, not as much at times I do” I answered. 

“Can I ask you something?” Lexi asked softly. 

“Yeah, what is it?” I smiled.

“Okay this may sound weird and personal because we just met but are you a supernatural being?” She asked.

“Yes, I am” I sighed.

“What are you?” Lexi asked tenderly.

“I’m a mix of Angel and Wolf, I got turned when I was 16” I replied. 

“Oh, that must have been hard for you to go through that” Lexi sighed.  

“Yeah it was but when I got bitten, I was sick in hospital from Tuberculosis a long time ago I’ve been ageless since and watch the people I love or care about age” I told her.

Lexi and I finally came across a café called Red, it has outdoor seating of wooden chairs placed around a medium sized black table. There are about 5 such sets of them outside the café. 

When we got inside it smells like pancakes, pies, sausage rolls and other foods that are making me hungrier, inside the café has booths with blue lather seats with big and small grey tables, the counter has a pay along with order at the same time I’m paying for Lexi’s as well as my order. 

“I can pay for my own if you want?” Lexi asked me.

“No, I’ll pay for both of ours you go find a table okay” I smiled softly.

Lexi stood on her tippy toes and kissed my cheek then went to find us a table, as I was ordering I looked at the menu that’s up on the wall behind their counter. After I picked out Lexi’s food which is a cheese burger with the lot and mine is a sausage roll with a salad on the side.

“May I take your order?” I heard a girl ask me, she looks like 17-18 with hungover eyes obviously, a party teenager.

“Yes please, I will have a sausage roll with the salad on the side and the cheese burger with the lot” I answered.

“Any drinks?” She asked.

“Can I please have two lemonades, thanks” I told the waitress.

“That will be, twenty dollars thank you” the girl replied.

I gave her the money then walked over to where Lexi is sitting she is so beautiful I’m going to make Lexi my girl, we both need each other well I need her. 

“I got you a cheese burger with the lot, two glasses of lemonade and a sausage roll with salad on the side for me” I told Lexi as I sat down next to her.

She smells like vanilla and cherries from her perfume, I could see Lexi’s tattoo on her arm it’s a dreamcatcher whoever did it is good because the details are amazing also suits Lexi.

“Who did your tattoo? It’s pretty cool” I asked Lexi.

She looked at where it was and smiled because I noticed it.

“Two blocks down from here, do you have any?” She asked.

“Yes, one on my back and want to get another one soon” I responded.  

“I can take you to the guy where I got mine done after lunch if you want?” Lexi asked.

“Sounds good, are you going to get another one while I get mine?” I smirked.

“Yes, I want to” She blushed.

I looked and saw the food approaching on a brown tray with the drinks on it, our food looks amazing and smells deliciousthe waitress gave Lexi and I a soft smile.

“Cheese burger with the lot?” She asked.

“Yes, that’s mine thank you it looks good” I heard Lexi say to the waitress.

“And here is your sausage with the salad sir” The waitress said to me, she then put the two glasses of lemonade onto the table.

“Thank you” I told her.

“You’re welcome, enjoy” She smiled then left.

I took a bite of my lunch, wow that’s the best sausage roll I’ve ever had and it’s homemade, Lexi took a huge bite from her burger glad I ordered Lexi the right thing.

As we were enjoying our lunch, I heard the door of the café door open to see more people coming in for lunch and drinks.

“So, how was your burger?” I asked Lexi who just finished her lunch. 

“It was so good, thank you for getting me it” She responded.

“You’re welcome, so how are doing when I told you about Sam this morning?” I asked Lexi softy.

“Honestly, I feel like shit Sam and I were close” She sighed with sadness in her eyes.

 “Lexi, I’m always here for you no matter what and you can tell me anything” I told her.

“Thanks Ace, means a lot been awhile since someone has told me that” Lexi replied.

“You’re welcome, you are such a beautiful girl with a heart of gold who deserves the best in life” I smiled.

Lexi blushed as she looked down at the table, I really want to kiss her soft lips but not till we get to know each other more.   

“So, what do you want to do for the rest of the day?” Lexi asked me.

“Whatever you want to do” I answered.

“I need to go to the mall to get a few things” Lexi smiled.

“Let’s go then, I’ll look around while you’re shopping” I replied.

After we left the cafe, the mall is just down the road I could feel a vibe coming from Lexi that’s mixed with nerves and fatigue. 

“Are you okay?” I asked Lexi.

“Yeah, I just get tired easily” She responded.

“Can I hold your hand?” I asked Lexi softly.

“Sure, you can Ace” Lexi replied then put her hand into mine.

Lexi’s hand is warm, soft and gentle. I felt my heart beating fast as she intertwined her fingers around mine I’ve never felt this way about anyone before.

When we finally arrived at the mall, it has doors that self-open, the inside is big and has 10 floors.

The mall is painted with a light blue shade on the outside and yellow in the inside, I saw people swarming in all directions. I could feel the heat coming off from the crowd, Lexi grip on my hand was tighter she must hate crowds.

“You don’t like crowds?” I asked her softly.

“I do just not today, something isn’t right” Lexi answered.

She is not wrong about that, I feel it too my phone vibrated in my black leather jacket that I put on when I left my apartment.

I took my phone out of the pocket, it is a text message from one of my gang members. 

Ryder:

Hey man, where are you? There is an attack at the local mall.

Me: 

I’m at the mall with Lexi, who is the attacker?

Ryder:

Some of the vampires, they are after Lexi.

I put my phone back in my pocket, Lexi let go of my hand and stopped walking then all the power in the mall shut off oh no this isn’t good at all. 

“What’s happening?” Lexi asked me.

“Stay here run if something or someone comes okay, I’ll go and check it out” I answered.

“No don’t leave me here Ace, I’m scared” Lexi told me softly almost in a whisper.

I pulled her into a tight embrace, she looked up at me and the next thing I knew was we were both leaning in…. BANG, a bullet went into Lexi’s upper arm she screamed in pain and fell onto the ground. My body was in shock I couldn’t move but I felt myself transforming into my wolf.  

Lexi’s POV:

I opened my eyes to find myself in a room, the ceiling is painted red and gold I looked around to see that I’m on a red leather couch with a gold silk blanket over my body.

The room feels warm, smells like cookies and chai my upper arm is wrapped up in a white bandage. I heard someone come into the room it is a girl in her teens 18 maybe, she has a short red dress on her hair colour is brown and the same length as mine I noticed she has a lion bracelet going up her right wrist.

“Oh good, you’re awake I’m Veronica but call me Nikki” The girl smiled softy.

“Nice to meet you, I’m Lexi how did I get here?” I asked Veronica. 

“After the attack on the mall that was caused by some of the vampires, Ace brought you here so I can keep an eye on you”She answered. 

“So, I’m guessing that you bandaged my arm?” I smiled. 

“Yes, I did and took the bullet out of it while you were passed out I gave you anaesthetic” Veronica replied.

“Thanks, where is Ace?” I sighed.

“He is in the other room, I’ll go and get him” Veronica told me and left the room.

I laid my head on the black silk pillow, the pain in my arm is slowly easing away so I rolled over facing the back of the couch. 

“Lexi?” I heard Ace ask me in a soft tone so I sat back up to face him. 

“Hey, thanks for bringing me here” I blushed. 

“You’re welcome, how’s your arm feeling?” Ace asked.

“It feels okay, the pain is slowly going” I asked.

Ace pulled out a first aid box that was under the couch, he opened it and got out a fresh bandage for my arm a loud scream came from outside the room. 

I looked at Ace as he shot up, he walked to the other side of the room and pressed a red button I saw a rack of weapons come up. 

Ace picked out a sharp long looking knife, then a small one he turned around to look at me. 

“I’ll be back, you stay in here okay” Ace told me and left the room. 

I was left in the room with nothing but my thoughts, Ajax came into my mind I need to let him know where I am, I need to find my bag it must be somewhere in this massive room. 

So, I got off the couch to search for my belongings my coat was hanging up on a rack along with my bag my phone was sitting on a small table next to the rack. 

I unlocked the phone and went to messages to find Ajax’s name which is at the top.

Me:

Hey Ajax, I’m safe and I’ll be home soon x.

I waited for him to reply, Ace hasn’t returned yet should I go and look for him? My phone vibrated

Ajax: 

Glad you’re okay, when you come back home we need to talk xx.

Ace’s POV:

I cleaned some of the blood off my two weapons, there was a demon attack in the training room half of my gang is murdered and so I killed the demon who looked like my dad because they can shape shift. 

“You okay?” I heard a girl ask me.

I turned around from my weapons to see a beautiful girl in her early twenties standing in front of me, she has medium Ombre hair with layers and is wearing all black clothing with white sport shoes.

Her scent smells like cotton candy, she is in decent shape I noticed that the girl is carrying a weapon that looks like a small dagger knife in her front jean pocket. 

“No to be honest, I just witnessed half of my gang get killed but thanks for asking” I responded.

“I’m Roxanna by the way, you must be Ace I hear a lot about you because you’re a legend back home” She told me. 

“My parents were legend’s not me, I will be one though just like them” I replied.

“Oh, I thought it was you, sorry” Roxanna apologized.

I looked at Roxanna and saw fear in her eyes, crap I must have sounded harsh didn’t mean to just upset.

“It’s okay, you didn’t know about my parents they got killed in a fight like the one that just happened here” I replied. 

“Your parents must have been good to you and the rest of your family” Roxanna told me.

“They brought me up well it must have been hard to rise one child back then” I smirked.

I noticed Roxanna looking towards my stomach so I looked down to see a big blood stain coming through my shirt, shit this is not good Roxanna walked up to me and helped me back to the room where Lexi is. 

One we got to the room, Roxanna opened the door I couldn’t see Lexi anywhere she probably went home so I sat on the couch and took off my top for Roxanna to fix up my stomach.

She had the first aid box in one hand and a glass of water in the other, Roxy looks exhausted but still beautiful. 

"Okay looks like you need stitches I'll get right on to that hold still" Roxy told me and got some antiseptic along with a white bandage and stuff for the stitches. 

Lexi's POV: 

Once I got home from Ace's, I saw Ajax sitting on the sofa with Sunny watching football, my heart started beating fast and butterflies formed in my stomach this is strange I've never felt this way towards Ajax. 

"Oh, hey didn't hear you come in" I heard Ajax say to me. 

I walked up to him and threw my arms around Ajax, he hugged me back but tighter like he didn't wanted to let me go. 

"Sorry for not letting you know that I wasn't home last night" I told him. 

Saturday. 

Lexi’s POV:

Hey, I’m Lexi Smith, 20 of age.

I have tanned skin, light blue eyes, long dark blue hair that I dyed, a bellybutton piercing, I’m fit and have a tattoo of a dreamcatcher on my right arm. 

I live in a two-bedroom modern flat in the city with my best friend Ajax, we both moved into the CBD for work. 

I’m a bartender at one of the top local nightclubs called Wicked Lounge, I’ve been there for a year and I love working there.

Ajax is a personal trainer, I’ve known him since year 7 I was the outsider of the school and Ajax noticed me out of everyone so we became best friends.

I’m single but had boyfriends before, my last few relationships were a bit toxic one of my exes used to hit me and verbal abused me.  My other one was a complete nut case, he had a few mental issues. 

I adore animals, I own a Husky called Sunny, my favourite colours are black, gold and pink.

My hobbies are working out, shopping, skateboarding, partying and road trips.

When I was 14, my mum took her own life because her depression was bad. My dad didn’t handle her passing very well he started drinking, staying out all night going around pubs with his mates. I did my bar course online.  

Music is my drug, I was hospitalized from psychoticdepression at 17 it came after four years after mum passed away. Ajax was there by my side keeping me strong. 

Ajax’s POV: 

Hey, I’m Ajax West, 20 of age. 

I have fair skin, light green eyes, brown short hair, a tattoo of an anchor on my left wrist and I’m fit.

I’m living with my best friend in two bed room flat in the city, Lexi would have mentioned that already. I used to be in the navy that’s what my tattoo stands for got it after I left. 

My height is 6’foot yeah I’m tall ha-ha. 

I’m in a relationship with a girl called Roxanna, we met at a party. 

I work as a personal trainer, love helping my clients reach their goals in fitness I’m a laid-back coach. 

Lexi and I met in year 7, I chose her out from everyone because Lexi stood out from the crowd so we have been friends ever since but all friendships had their ups and downs. When Lexi went into hospital from depression I was the only who visited and stayed by her side. 

I kinda have a crush on Lexi.  

Ace’s POV: 

Hi, I’m Ace Henderson, 23 of age. 

I have fair skin, grey bluey eyes, black short hair, a tattoo of angel wings on my back and I’m fit. 

My height is 6’ foot 2, I just moved into the city to start over. 

I’m a Hybrid of Angel and Wolf, I have a gang mixed with Angel’s and Wolf’s.

I’m single but have had a few relationships before but none of them lasted long, my last ex broke my heart into a million of pieces. 

My favourite colours are white, black and grey, hobbies are working out, partying, boxing, bull riding and training to kill demons. 

I love animals, my gang and I own a Beagle called Lucky.

Lexi’s POV: 

When I arrived to work, it’s 8pm I’m working till 5am tonight which is closing time. 

The club is big with two stories, bar downstairs and dance floor upstairs with dark red leather couches, the bar has marble benches.

Downstairs where the bar is there are balcony’s, the stairs are black carpeted.   

It’s usually busy now, I get 10 minute breaks after a few hours serving drinks. 

Once I arrived inside my work, I walked to the staff room there is a small white fridge for our food to have during breaks. The club stocks it for us, our staff room has blue walls with black leather couches and a few valet armchairs. 

I put my bag away in my locker that is white and made of wood, one of the guy’s that I’m working with tonight walked into the room. 

“Oh, hello Lexi” He smiled towards me.  

“Hey there Sam, ready for a long shift ahead?” I asked him. 

“Sure am, it pays the bills” He answered. 

When Sam and I left the staff room, I opened the bar it then started fill up with people but one guy caught my attention, he is quite attractive and tall I’m guessing 6’foot? And those eyes wow.  

The guy was walking towards to the bar, he sat down in the middle, I moved to the middle. 

I examined the cute guys face he looks exhausted as. 

“Rough day?” I asked him. 

“Rough year pretty girl” He answered. 

“Drink?” I asked. 

“Scotch whisky please” The guy responded. 

I turned around to where the drinks and glasses are kept, I got the whisky down from the shelve and poured it into the glass. 

“Here you go, on the house” I smiled at him. 

“I’m Ace Henderson by the way” He told me. 

“Nice to meet you, I’m Lexi Smith enjoy your drink” I replied. 

I then walked to the other part of the bar to see Sam hitting on some brunette chick that is sitting at the bar with her friend who looks bored out of her mind unfortunate thing. 

“Well you look bored” I said to the girl. 

“Oh yeah, I don’t even want to be here my friend dragged me out” She replied. 

“Want another Cider?” I asked. 

“Yes, please will be here all night” She responded. 

I turned around to where the Cider’s are kept and opened it then gave it to the girl, after I looked over to see Ace with another Whisky he is still where he was before. 

He looked up and gave me a soft smile then got off the bar stool then walked upstairs.

When I got upstairs to where the dance floor is, I saw some of my gang here we are on business. 

The room is full of people making out, dancing and drinking, I could feel the heat coming off from all the people. 

Some of the Warlocks have been dealing with humans in the club which isn’t good, I saw a guy walk out from a room that has two big red valet curtains. 

So, I gave one of my gang members the signals to get ready, I walked through the dancing bodies to get to the red curtains.

When I reached the two big red curtains, I opened them to find a group of Warlocks talking to a human girl who looks like an 18-year-old.  

Lexi? Is she part of the dealing? 

Lexi’s POV: 

I got sent up to the dance part of the club because there was a deal going on, I’m in the middle of 3 guys who look like Army Cadets but just tougher than me I feel a bit small now. 

“All I’m saying is that whatever you guys are selling in this club has to stop or it will get shut down” I told them. 

“Do you think that my mates and I are going to listen to a girl that works behind a bar? No, we are not so keep your mouth shut and this nightclub will be safe and we also run it” The leader replied to me. 

“Hey, don’t you ever speak to her like that, Lexi is trying to keep your club safe” I heard Ace say from behind the group.

Ace had 3 guys with him all in black and gold clothing with weapons, what the hell is going on here? 

(An hour later) 

I woke up in the staff room, what happened did I pass out or something? 

I looked over from the couches that I woke up on to see Ace asleep on one of the armchairs, so I tried to sit up but my head started to spin.

Ace shot up off the armchair I didn’t see him wake up, he came back from the sink with a glass of water along with two painkillers. 

Ace sat down on the other part of the couch and handed me the glass with water in it then the painkillers, I took them and sat the empty glass down onto the floor. 

He took my hand into his, Ace’s hand felt warm and soft. 

“What happened?” I asked

“You got knocked out by one of the guys you were talking to, so I carried you off the floor where you passed out on” He answered. 

(After work) 

Ace walked me to my car, I drive a black WRX 

“So, are you going to be okay?” I heard him ask me softly.

I got my car keys out from my bag and unlocked the car, I put my bag on the passenger seat. 

“Yeah I’ll be alright thanks for asking and making sure that I’m okay” I smiled.

Ace bent down to kiss me softly on the cheek, he then pulled my body into a warm embrace. 

Damn he smells so good like cookies and sandalwood, I feel intoxicated from Ace’s sent in an enjoyable way. 

We both pulled away from the embrace, Ace looked down and smiled lightly at me. 

“I’ll come and pop by to your place to see how you’re feeling soon” Ace told me. 

“Do you know where I live?” I asked.

“Yes, I do” Ace answered. 

“How though?” I asked him. 

“That’s for me to know and for you to find out how” He responded.

When I arrived home, I saw Ajax’s white Ute parked in the small driveway, so I parked my car on the side of our street. 

The apartment block that my mate and I live in is modern painted white on the outside, it has blue paint inside and it’s big. 

It has a lobby downstairs with two reception desks’ that run 24/7, the body guards are very nice gentlemen who are welcoming. 

Where the lobby is, there are stairs and elevators that go up to the apartments, I normally take one of the elevators after a long work shift. 

The inside of my flat has white walls for the kitchen, it has two bathrooms in each bedroom.

My bedroom is painted with purple walls, a flat screen TV on the wall facing my queen-sized bed that has blue sheets and a black doona with lots of pillows and a window facing some of the city buildings and I have black carpet for the floor.

Ajax’s room has blue painted walls, a window facing the beach, with a flat screen TV and white carpet for the floor. 

The kitchen is big enough for 3 to 2 people, once I got up to my apartment floor I got out the housekeys out of my bag. 

When I reached inside of the apartment, I saw black heels with a red backing on the bottom and white basketball shoes Ajax must have invited his girlfriend over to stay the night.  

I walked into my room to get ready for bed, once I got changed into my P’Js which is a black t-shirt and white booty shorts. 

After I walked out of my room to get something to eat I heard a light knock on the front door, I opened it to see Ace standing in front of me. 

“Hello you” He smirked.  

“Hey, come on in” I smiled. 

Ace walked inside, I closed the door behind me he started to look around the apartment. 

“Lovely place you have “He told me. 

“Thanks, my friend and I saved up during school to move in together” I replied. 

“Oh, cool I moved around to different city’s when I was a teenager” Ace told me. 

“Do you have any family?” I asked. 

“When I was 12 my parents were killed in a demon attack, so I packed all my things and left home” Ace responded. 

“I know how you feel, my mum took her own life when I was 14” I told him. 

“That must have been hard for you” Ace replied. 

“It was, I had my nana to look after me because dad wasn’t in a good state when mum died” I sighed. 

“Oh, well you have me now too” He smiled. 

I felt my cheeks flush with warmth, guess I’m blushing now. 

“Thanks, it means a lot. Ajax is the only person in my life that kept me strong when I was going through hell” I replied.

“Because of your mother’s death or?” Ace asked softly. 

“Yeah that and I also was hospitalized when I was 17, from depression.” I answered.  

“That must have been the hardest part of your life” He replied. 

“The only people who came to visit me in hospital were Ajax my best friend and this may sound crazy but also my dead mother I could see her” I sighed. 

“That doesn’t sound crazy at all, things in this world aren’t what they seem Lexi” Ace told me. 

“What do you mean by that?” I asked. 

“You might want to sit down or something before I tell you” He answered. 

I walked into the lounge room and sat on the black leather couch, Ace sat next to me. 

So, I waited in silence for him to tell me about my question. 

“Okay here it goes, well what I meant is that this world is not what you think. It’s full of supernatural beings mixed with humans like you” Ace told me. 

 “Are you crazy? That’s impossible” I asked. 

“No, I’m not crazy all the stories and movies you’ve seen are true” He responded. 

My head started to thump from what Ace told me, I did start to notice abnormal things around the place.

I heard Ace sigh as he got up off from the couch, he walked to the side of the room to give me some space to gather the information. 

“Ace, I believe you sorry for calling you crazy” I said to him. 

“It’s okay, I’m glad you believe me because I would never lie to you” Ace replied.

“I’m tired, do you want to stay or?” I asked him. 

“I should get going, have training in the morning but I’ll message you later” Ace answered. 

The next day,

Sunday. 

Ace’s POV:

I woke up to the sound of an alarm, one of my gang members must have tripped the house one somehow. 

After I got out of my double bed, that has black sheets, two pillows one white and the other blue. 

It has a gold doona, when I walked to my bathroom that’s joined onto my room. 

My bathroom is medium size, with a shower on the left side of the sink and a toilet on the right side. 

There is a mirror cabinet above my sink that has my things in it, I striped out of my boxer shorts and got into the shower. 

I felt the warm water go all over my body, showers are the best way to think about things and Lexi just came up in my mind. 

When I finished in the shower, I grabbed my green soft towel and dried myself off. 

My room has gold walls, a window viewing one of the pools that the apartment block owns and a flat screen TV facing my bed. I also have grey carpet for the bedroom floor. 

The window has blinds that are a light shade of blue, I got out my training clothes that are black with a dash of gold.

After getting dressed I walked down to the training roomwhere my gang and I train every Sunday morning before breakfast. 

The training room has a shelf full of weapons on each side, there are black mats that gymnastics people use. 

I picked out my favourite weapon that is use for training only, it is a small to medium knife that is semi sharp with patterns on it sometimes they light up when using the blade. 

When I walked to the punching bags area, I put the knife in my back pocket and started to warm up. 

Half way through training, I heard some of the other gang members enter the room.

The walls of our training room are white and black with three windows looking over the city, it smells like fresh paint and saltwater I love it. 

They used this room for storing old ships because the city is near the local beach, I walked over to the mini fridge that has water bottles in it I took one of the bottles and took a sip of the cool refreshing water. 

After I put the cap back onto the bottle, I walked over to the knife throwing part of the room to practice my throwing skills I also use an arrow too that’s part of a bow and arrow pack. 

I stood in front of the fake attacker carboard demon, so I started to focus on my breathing before throwing the knife into the carboard. 

I closed my eyes then took a deep breath in and out, I opened both of my eyes threw the knife towards the demon and it landed near the heart so I moved closer and threw the arrow to the heart and it settled into it. 

” Ace, there are 3 police man that need to see you” I heard one of my mates say to me. 

“Who?’ I asked him. 

“Not sure the guy’s name because they didn’t tell me” He answered. 

“Okay I’ll see them, where are they?” I asked. 

“Follow me and I’ll show you where” He smiled.

I followed the guy out of the training room and through the massive hallway that has gold painted walls, the room smells like roses that are at the end of it. 

I came across three guys that wanted to see me, one looked like he hadn’t slept in days he had wrinkles at the bottom of both eyes. The other two looked annoyed but why?

“Sorry for interrupting your training session but something has happened to a person that works at Wicked Lounge where the dealing went down last night” The tired guy told me in a sad tone of voice. 

“What happened?” I asked worried thinking of Lexi. 

“We found a dead body that was a male in the parking lotbehind a car and a bite mark on the neck” The tired one responded. 

“But that’s impossible because it’s not vampire territory at the club” I replied. 

“Yes, but somehow one of them attacked an innocent bartender that was working with a girl” One of the annoyed guy told me in a pissed off tone. 

“Sam was his name, poor bloke he didn’t do anything wrong to anyone that night” I sighed. 

“He was hitting on a girl that was at the bar, turns out she is a vampire and so the head vampire founded out that’s how Sam died” The tired guy replied. 

“Okay, well thank you for letting me know means a lot and I’ll tell Lexi” I said. 

“That’s okay, we better get going to question witness’s” The tired cop replied. 

After the 3 cops left, I walked back to my room to get changed out of my training clothes and into some black jeans, a white t-shirt with a grey hoodie over it. 

I left my apartment block to go and tell Lexi the news about her Saturday night shift’s that she does with Sam, I started to walk down the stone pathway because I live near Lexi’s. 

The weather outside feels cold, it’s overcast today with rain along with a thunderstorm my kind of weather to be out in I know what you’re thinking crazy right? But this type of weather brings out some of the vampires out and other things that start trouble. 

Once I arrived at Lexi’s, I walked inside apartment building to the lobby so I can get up to see Lexi I got into one of the elevators and pressed level 3 so I waited while it was moving up to the level. 

When the elevator stopped and both doors opened, I walked out of it and down the hallway. I came across Lexi’s door it’s number 4, my stomach started to futter with butterflies yes, I like Lexi even though I met her last night but it feels like I’ve known her for ages.

I knock lightly on the white door, then heard movement from the other side probably Lexi or her mate Ajax who I haven’t met yet the door suddenly opened to find Lexi still half asleep she looks so cute with her hair all messy and that little yawn Lexi just did. 

“Morning Lexi” I smiled at her softly then pulled her into my arms. 

I felt her arms go around my waist because I’m tall it’s cute the way Lexi hugs me, she let go of me and looked up into my eyes she is so tiny compared to me. 

“How was training?” She asked. 

“It was good thank you, how did you sleep last night?” I asked. 

“I slept okay, come on in sorry my kitchen is a mess this morning had to clean up my dog’s poop that she did and Ajax got up before me to go to gym” Lexi told me. 

I gave her a soft smile and entered the flat, the kitchen is a mess but I don’t mind Lexi moved passed me to get to her kitchen. I looked at the shorts that Lexi are wearing that shape her bottom perfectly, her legs are also perfect yes, I sound like a perv but can’t help it. 

“Do you want me to help you clean up or?” I asked Lexi who was making breakfast. 

“No, it’s okay, I’ll do it later but thank you for asking” She answered. 

“You’re welcome, so I came to tell you that Sam got attacked last night outside the club by a vampire because the girl who he was hitting on was a vampire and that’s how Sam got attacked” I told Lexi.  

I heard her sigh as she made the toast that has a chocolate spread on it, Lexi sat at the small brown table after putting her breakfast on a small white plate. Lexi took one bite of the toast, she looked at me with tears welling up in her eyes.

“Lexi, come here” I told her. 

She got off her seat and hugged my waist again, I ran my hand through her hair and told Lexi it’s going to be okay. Lexi has been through enough, she needs me to keep her safe. 

“I’m going to have a shower, feel free to watch TV or even have something to eat” Lexi told me and then left the room.

I walked back to the kitchen and stared cleaning it up for Lexi, while cleaning up I heard the door open and close looks like Ajax is home. I put the last plate that I washed on the rack, then turned around to see Ajax taking off his runners. 

“Oh, hey man you must be Ace” Ajax smiled at me.

“You must be Ajax” I replied.

“That’s me so, how are you?” He asked trying to make conversation with me. 

“Yeah, I’m okay thanks and you?” I asked. 

“Tired from my workout so I’m going back to bed it was good meeting you” Ajax respond. 

He walked down to his room, I sat at the small table that’s in the kitchen and waited for Lexi to get ready. I want to take Lexi out for the day so I can get to know her better. 

I heard Lexi come out of her room, she is now standing at the other end of the table wow Lexi looks good in active wear yes, I’m being cheeky again not my fault that she is a babe.

“Thank you for cleaning up the kitchen and I also heard you talking to Ajax, what do you think of him?” Lexi asked me as she put on her white runners.

“Yeah he was nice bit shy though” I answered. 

“Ajax takes a few days to come around to new people” Lexi told me. 

“Oh, okay fair enough I used to be like that still am at times” I smiled.  

“You weren’t shy when we first met at the club last night” Lexi smirked and grabbed her phone along with wallet and house keys. 

“That’s because I can trust you” I blushed a bit.

“So, do you want to go out for lunch?” Lexi asked me. 

“Yes, I was just going to ask you that” I replied. 

“Feel like walking or?” She asked. 

“Let’s walk in the city is just around the corner” I responded.

“Yeah it is, come on let’s go” Lexi told me.

When we both got out of the apartment block, Lexi was texting someone on her iPhone 5s probably one of her other friends. It’s still overcast out and cold so I put my hood over my head to keep warm. 

“You don’t like the cold much aye” I heard Lexi say to me.

“Sometimes just not when it’s daytime, I stay out most of the nights” I replied.

“So, you don’t sleep?” She whispered.

“No, not as much at times I do” I answered. 

“Can I ask you something?” Lexi asked softly. 

“Yeah, what is it?” I smiled.

“Okay this may sound weird and personal because we just met but are you a supernatural being?” She asked.

“Yes, I am” I sighed.

“What are you?” Lexi asked tenderly.

“I’m a mix of Angel and Wolf, I got turned when I was 16” I replied. 

“Oh, that must have been hard for you to go through that” Lexi sighed.  

“Yeah it was but when I got bitten, I was sick in hospital from Tuberculosis a long time ago I’ve been ageless since and watch the people I love or care about age” I told her.

Lexi and I finally came across a café called Red, it has outdoor seating of wooden chairs placed around a medium sized black table. There are about 5 such sets of them outside the café. 

When we got inside it smells like pancakes, pies, sausage rolls and other foods that are making me hungrier, inside the café has booths with blue lather seats with big and small grey tables, the counter has a pay along with order at the same time I’m paying for Lexi’s as well as my order. 

“I can pay for my own if you want?” Lexi asked me.

“No, I’ll pay for both of ours you go find a table okay” I smiled softly.

Lexi stood on her tippy toes and kissed my cheek then went to find us a table, as I was ordering I looked at the menu that’s up on the wall behind their counter. After I picked out Lexi’s food which is a cheese burger with the lot and mine is a sausage roll with a salad on the side.

“May I take your order?” I heard a girl ask me, she looks like 17-18 with hungover eyes obviously, a party teenager.

“Yes please, I will have a sausage roll with the salad on the side and the cheese burger with the lot” I answered.

“Any drinks?” She asked.

“Can I please have two lemonades, thanks” I told the waitress.

“That will be, twenty dollars thank you” the girl replied.

I gave her the money then walked over to where Lexi is sitting she is so beautiful I’m going to make Lexi my girl, we both need each other well I need her. 

“I got you a cheese burger with the lot, two glasses of lemonade and a sausage roll with salad on the side for me” I told Lexi as I sat down next to her.

She smells like vanilla and cherries from her perfume, I could see Lexi’s tattoo on her arm it’s a dreamcatcher whoever did it is good because the details are amazing also suits Lexi.

“Who did your tattoo? It’s pretty cool” I asked Lexi.

She looked at where it was and smiled because I noticed it.

“Two blocks down from here, do you have any?” She asked.

“Yes, one on my back and want to get another one soon” I responded.  

“I can take you to the guy where I got mine done after lunch if you want?” Lexi asked.

“Sounds good, are you going to get another one while I get mine?” I smirked.

“Yes, I want to” She blushed.

I looked and saw the food approaching on a brown tray with the drinks on it, our food looks amazing and smells deliciousthe waitress gave Lexi and I a soft smile.

“Cheese burger with the lot?” She asked.

“Yes, that’s mine thank you it looks good” I heard Lexi say to the waitress.

“And here is your sausage with the salad sir” The waitress said to me, she then put the two glasses of lemonade onto the table.

“Thank you” I told her.

“You’re welcome, enjoy” She smiled then left.

I took a bite of my lunch, wow that’s the best sausage roll I’ve ever had and it’s homemade, Lexi took a huge bite from her burger glad I ordered Lexi the right thing.

As we were enjoying our lunch, I heard the door of the café door open to see more people coming in for lunch and drinks.

“So, how was your burger?” I asked Lexi who just finished her lunch. 

“It was so good, thank you for getting me it” She responded.

“You’re welcome, so how are doing when I told you about Sam this morning?” I asked Lexi softy.

“Honestly, I feel like shit Sam and I were close” She sighed with sadness in her eyes.

 “Lexi, I’m always here for you no matter what and you can tell me anything” I told her.

“Thanks Ace, means a lot been awhile since someone has told me that” Lexi replied.

“You’re welcome, you are such a beautiful girl with a heart of gold who deserves the best in life” I smiled.

Lexi blushed as she looked down at the table, I really want to kiss her soft lips but not till we get to know each other more.   

“So, what do you want to do for the rest of the day?” Lexi asked me.

“Whatever you want to do” I answered.

“I need to go to the mall to get a few things” Lexi smiled.

“Let’s go then, I’ll look around while you’re shopping” I replied.

After we left the cafe, the mall is just down the road I could feel a vibe coming from Lexi that’s mixed with nerves and fatigue. 

“Are you okay?” I asked Lexi.

“Yeah, I just get tired easily” She responded.

“Can I hold your hand?” I asked Lexi softly.

“Sure, you can Ace” Lexi replied then put her hand into mine.

Lexi’s hand is warm, soft and gentle. I felt my heart beating fast as she intertwined her fingers around mine I’ve never felt this way about anyone before.

When we finally arrived at the mall, it has doors that self-open, the inside is big and has 10 floors.

The mall is painted with a light blue shade on the outside and yellow in the inside, I saw people swarming in all directions. I could feel the heat coming off from the crowd, Lexi grip on my hand was tighter she must hate crowds.

“You don’t like crowds?” I asked her softly.

“I do just not today, something isn’t right” Lexi answered.

She is not wrong about that, I feel it too my phone vibrated in my black leather jacket that I put on when I left my apartment.

I took my phone out of the pocket, it is a text message from one of my gang members. 

Ryder:

Hey man, where are you? There is an attack at the local mall.

Me: 

I’m at the mall with Lexi, who is the attacker?

Ryder:

Some of the vampires, they are after Lexi.

I put my phone back in my pocket, Lexi let go of my hand and stopped walking then all the power in the mall shut off oh no this isn’t good at all. 

“What’s happening?” Lexi asked me.

“Stay here run if something or someone comes okay, I’ll go and check it out” I answered.

“No don’t leave me here Ace, I’m scared” Lexi told me softly almost in a whisper.

I pulled her into a tight embrace, she looked up at me and the next thing I knew was we were both leaning in…. BANG, a bullet went into Lexi’s upper arm she screamed in pain and fell onto the ground. My body was in shock I couldn’t move but I felt myself transforming into my wolf.  

Lexi’s POV:

I opened my eyes to find myself in a room, the ceiling is painted red and gold I looked around to see that I’m on a red leather couch with a gold silk blanket over my body.

The room feels warm, smells like cookies and chai my upper arm is wrapped up in a white bandage. I heard someone come into the room it is a girl in her teens 18 maybe, she has a short red dress on her hair colour is brown and the same length as mine I noticed she has a lion bracelet going up her right wrist.

“Oh good, you’re awake I’m Veronica but call me Nikki” The girl smiled softy.

“Nice to meet you, I’m Lexi how did I get here?” I asked Veronica. 

“After the attack on the mall that was caused by some of the vampires, Ace brought you here so I can keep an eye on you”She answered. 

“So, I’m guessing that you bandaged my arm?” I smiled. 

“Yes, I did and took the bullet out of it while you were passed out I gave you anaesthetic” Veronica replied.

“Thanks, where is Ace?” I sighed.

“He is in the other room, I’ll go and get him” Veronica told me and left the room.

I laid my head on the black silk pillow, the pain in my arm is slowly easing away so I rolled over facing the back of the couch. 

“Lexi?” I heard Ace ask me in a soft tone so I sat back up to face him. 

“Hey, thanks for bringing me here” I blushed. 

“You’re welcome, how’s your arm feeling?” Ace asked.

“It feels okay, the pain is slowly going” I asked.

Ace pulled out a first aid box that was under the couch, he opened it and got out a fresh bandage for my arm a loud scream came from outside the room. 

I looked at Ace as he shot up, he walked to the other side of the room and pressed a red button I saw a rack of weapons come up. 

Ace picked out a sharp long looking knife, then a small one he turned around to look at me. 

“I’ll be back, you stay in here okay” Ace told me and left the room. 

I was left in the room with nothing but my thoughts, Ajax came into my mind I need to let him know where I am, I need to find my bag it must be somewhere in this massive room. 

So, I got off the couch to search for my belongings my coat was hanging up on a rack along with my bag my phone was sitting on a small table next to the rack. 

I unlocked the phone and went to messages to find Ajax’s name which is at the top.

Me:

Hey Ajax, I’m safe and I’ll be home soon x.

I waited for him to reply, Ace hasn’t returned yet should I go and look for him? My phone vibrated

Ajax: 

Glad you’re okay, when you come back home we need to talk xx.

Ace’s POV:

I cleaned some of the blood off my two weapons, there was a demon attack in the training room half of my gang is murdered and so I killed the demon who looked like my dad because they can shape shift. 

“You okay?” I heard a girl ask me.

I turned around from my weapons to see a beautiful girl in her early twenties standing in front of me, she has medium Ombre hair with layers and is wearing all black clothing with white sport shoes.

Her scent smells like cotton candy, she is in decent shape I noticed that the girl is carrying a weapon that looks like a small dagger knife in her front jean pocket. 

“No to be honest, I just witnessed half of my gang get killed but thanks for asking” I responded.

“I’m Roxanna by the way, you must be Ace I hear a lot about you because you’re a legend back home” She told me. 

“My parents were legend’s not me, I will be one though just like them” I replied.

“Oh, I thought it was you, sorry” Roxanna apologized.

I looked at Roxanna and saw fear in her eyes, crap I must have sounded harsh didn’t mean to just upset.

“It’s okay, you didn’t know about my parents they got killed in a fight like the one that just happened here” I replied. 

“Your parents must have been good to you and the rest of your family” Roxanna told me.

“They brought me up well it must have been hard to rise one child back then” I smirked.

I noticed Roxanna looking towards my stomach so I looked down to see a big blood stain coming through my shirt, shit this is not good Roxanna walked up to me and helped me back to the room where Lexi is. 

One we got to the room, Roxanna opened the door I couldn’t see Lexi anywhere she probably went home so I sat on the couch and took off my top for Roxanna to fix up my stomach.

She had the first aid box in one hand and a glass of water in the other, Roxy looks exhausted but still beautiful. 

"Okay looks like you need stitches I'll get right on to that hold still" Roxy told me and got some antiseptic along with a white bandage and stuff for the stitches. 

Lexi's POV: 

Once I got home from Ace's, I saw Ajax sitting on the sofa with Sunny watching football, my heart started beating fast and butterflies formed in my stomach this is strange I've never felt this way towards Ajax. 

"Oh, hey didn't hear you come in" I heard Ajax say to me. 

"Who's wining?" I asked him about the football match.

"Not sure I'm not really watching it, my other show just finished and the footy came on after" Ajax answered.

"So you wanted to talk to me about something?" I asked.

"Come and sit down" He told me.

I sat next to Ajax, he looked right at me I could smell his sent and Ajax smells like the new cologne he brought, my whole body was shaking because I'm nervous.

"Well you know how we have been best friends since well most of our lives, my feelings for you have grown for you Lexi" Ajax said to me.

"But you're dating Roxanna" I replied.

"She broke up with me last because she has noticed the way I look at you" He told me.

"Oh, I didn't know that are you okay?" I sighed.

"I'm okay, Lexi may I take you out for dinner?" Ajax asked.

"Yes you may, I would love that" I smiled.

Ajax's POV:

I'm so happy that Lexi said yes that I can take her out on a dinner date, Lexi is in the shower at the moment so I got her medications ready so she can take them afterwards. 

I heard the shower stop, Lexi came out into the kitchen in her dressing gown and hair wrapped up in a towel. 

"Thanks for getting my medications ready for me, I have a therapy session tomorrow morning at 11am" She told me. 

"Want me to come with you?" I asked. 

"Nah it's okay maybe next session you can, so where are you taking me out for dinner? Lexi blushed. 

"It's a surprise, you'll have to wait" I responded. 

"Oh, okay that sounds good to me" She replied. 

After Lexi took her medications, we are having takeaway for dinner which is Chinese food I ordered the lemon chicken and Lexi got sweet and sour chicken along with pork buns. 

"How's your food?" Lexi asked me. 

"It's so good, how's yours?" I asked her. 

"Mine is absolutely amazing" She answered. 

I took a pork bun out of the takeaway bag and put it on my plate, I'm so hungry tonight Lexi looked at me as I ate the rest of my food. 

"Wow you must of skipped lunch today, never seen you this hungry before" Lexi said to me. 

"Yeah I did skip lunch, had two clients today and didn't get to have a lunch break" I replied.

"You can have the last of the pork buns, I've had two already" She smiled.

"Okay, thanks" I smirked.

I took them and ate them straight away, Lexi started giggling softy because I'm eating like a pig I finished my food and put my plate in the dishwasher. 

As I put my plate away, I felt Lexi come up behind me and put her hands on my hips so I turned around and kissed her passionately. 

Lexi's POV:

Ajax and I pulled away for air, I could feel my cheeks go red from blushing, I wrapped my arms around his waist again. 

"You had no idea how long I've wanted to kiss you Lexi" Ajax said softly. 

"How long?" I asked. 

"Since we started being friends, I always wanted you" He responded. 

"Really?" I asked in surprise. 

"Yes, I've never felt this way about anyone not even Roxy" Ajax replied. 

"You never said anything about it to me" I told him. 

"Because I was afraid it would ruin our friendship that's why I didn't tell you" Ajax sighed in a exhausted way. 

I sat on the bench top, he stood in front of me and wrapped his arms around my waist Ajax makes me feel safe from everything around us, my mind wondered to Ace I hope everything is okay. 

The next day, 

Monday: 

Ace's POV:

I woke up next to Roxy, she stayed the night to help me with my wound because the bandage needs to be replaced every hour so I didn't get much sleep last night and had to lay on my back which is uncomfortable for me. 

My stomach hurts so much from the stitches, I tried to get up but couldn't so I woke up Roxy to help me get to the bathroom.

"What is it?" She asked softly. 

"I have to use the bathroom, can you help me?" I asked.
