Chapter 2: Fated Crystals

"Well this is awkward, I didn't expect you to find out about me this way." I said. Or for you to find out ever." I said partially under my breath.

Up until now I had done my best to hide this huge part of my life from them, but that didn't work too well. Rose and I wanted it that way. For people to not be involved in our problems. At least all the people we could prevent from finding out. Even so, Fate has always had a way to twist our lives to fulfill itself. It's part of the Law Of Cycles.

"Once completed, a big enough event shall eventually repeat itself in the long history of this multiverse, across all alternant dimensions and timelines. You can stall the event. But no matter what one does, it cannot be undone. For no one holds fortune's favor."

"You used to be obsessed with magic!" Hazel said.

"Yes, because I -" I tried to say.

"We just thought that you were kidding!" Elizabeth admitted.

"Could I just finish a se -"

"I can't believe you can actually-!"  Elizabeth said with disbelief.

"Hey! Could you two just shut up for a second so I can explain?!" I said losing patience. They immediately went quiet.

We went back to my house so we couldn't be bothered. As we walked back, it was awkwardly silent. I found it very uncomfortable. I got awkward glances from my friends as they seemed to think all of this over.

When we walked upstairs came to the door of my room. I closed my door, and put my hand on it. Underneath the crack is f it a light shone brightly. I opened the door and walked through, Hazel and Elizabeth following.

I used my room as a key to get us into a little pocket dimension I had created long ago. It was a huge palace-like room with a gigantic closet, a dog-like bed, surrounded marble floors and walls. A large round carpet on the floor in the center. On the ceiling there was a crystal chandelier, and several large platforms. Thankfully, my parents wouldn't be home until eight tonight, so they won't notice us missing. Besides that, the time here passes much differently.

"I still can't believe this. How is magic real?" Elizabeth asked, her eyebrows knitted together in thought.

"I bet this is impossible to believe. Trust me, I would know." I headed over to the center of the room. "But believe me when I say that this galaxy, no- this multiverse is beyond your comprehension. Size doesn't matter, neither does power sometimes. And everything is more complicated than you bargained for. You might not even notice it, but using glamour spells, magic beings and objects are around you every day. Unlike regular people... I can see them all."

"Who's this bed for?"  Hazel asked in awe.

"Oh that?" I said while glancing over my shoulder. "That's Nevira's."

"Who's Nevira?"  Elizabeth asked.

"I'll let you figure that out..." I said mysteriously. They looked at each other warily. I lifted my head up to the ceiling. "Nevira Ostara!" I called.

There she was. Flying down from one of the large platforms in the roof. As beautiful as ever with her glittering white scales. With those beautiful green eyes piercing deep into your being, and lovely off white horns. My lovely Nevira. No matter where you go it's impossible to find anyone with a spirit animal. In fact there's only five people including myself with a spirit animal in existence at the moment. It’s a long story of how I know this.

"Don't worry she's very friendly." I said not worried the least.

My friends weren't speaking anymore. I knew that this was a lot to take in. All of a sudden I was getting a call on my mirror.  Xenia and Amber. I immediately picked up.

"Sarah, are your frien -" Xenia started to say, then looking to my right to see that my friends were standing not too far away from me.

"Sarah! Did you-?" Amber questioned. I nodded. They now knew about me so that means that they were apart of this now. They were apart of my fate, they were ever since I had met them. But theirs more twisted and dark than mine. And all of it, unfixable.

"Don't worry we're on our way, I'll have to explain everything as well." I said.

"That means- they're now apart of this..."  Xenia said trailing off.

"They already were."

"So you couldn't do anything in the end... could you?" Amber asked with a sad look.

'Why the hell are they so sad? They knew as well as I that I couldn't fix it.'

I shook my head no. I couldn't do anything. For it was written in the Halls of Sersie, where the Law Of Cycles resides. Two brave friends of Lunar Eclipse shall join the Falling Ceridos, on their new journey...

"Don't forget. I swore it on that day." I said wiping my frown off my face, and replaced it with a bright smile. "I will never let Fallania Gabrado repeat itself ever again. We all know what will happen if it does. I promised. I swore it to her..."

"She would be happy to know you remembered your promise. She gifted both of you her gemstones after all."

I looked at my birthmark on my left forearm, then clenched my hands into fists.

"I shall not fail."

I looked back at my comrades in the mirror. Nevira let out a short and soft growl in the background.

"It's been a while since we've actually gotten back together for something like this. But the real question is, how did someone even get close to Rose?"

 Xenia and Amber exchanged looks.

"We think that his influence has finally reached her. She didn't want to burden you and went to him. But she instead caused this mess, and the possibility of another war. I do believe that you know whom I speak of?"

I nodded.

"Let's talk about this later, we don't know who could've tapped into our call." Amber added.

"Alright, see you soon."

And with that, the mirrors liquid silver swirled, and they were gone.

Well if my friends were going to another dimension they needed to blend in. And they were going to meet royalty. There's also that. I was going to just go in my adventure outfit, I love that thing.

And sometimes depending on where you go, it's against that dimensions laws to give regular humans magic without special permits. So I can't bless them with any elements...

"Wait -" Hazel started.

"Where are we going?" Elizabeth asked interrupting her.

"Don't worry," I said reassuring them. "All will be explained."

"Dark of Night!" I chanted.

A light purple knee length dress with a black bodice with black laces, the dress was ombreing purple to darker purple. It was shoulderless, with a large split down the back, and had several layers, with ripped tights underneath. Then a wand appeared in my hand. All in a black material, that shone and glittered lightly, except the purple diamond in long smooth curving, swirling vines that twisted all over it. And a large amethyst crescent moon on top. On my left arm my birthmark turned into a purple gem. And on my left leg on my outer thigh a purple eclipsing moon appeared with a white diamond in the middle.

"Whoa! How did you do that?" Elizabeth exclaimed.

"Sarah." Hazel said with excitement and a hint of fear. I turned to look at her. "What the hell are you?"

"Well," I started trying to find the words to explain. "Technically, I'm just like the two of you, but at the same time I'm not. I was born this way, but not until I had come of a certain age, could what is known as the Council, tell me everything, well almost everything. Rose and I, when we met in real life for the first ti-"

"Wait, so you had never met in reality.." Hazel interrupted.

"No, but-"

"But you knew each other like best friends?" Elizabeth asked.

"We could meet in dreams-" I began again.

"But you didn't tell each other where to go so you could meet?" Elizabeth inquired.

"We-"

"Or what place to be at, what day, or time." Hazel wondered.

"Can you let me finish telling y-"

"No." They said in unison, they laughed while I glared at them. But this is was their way of coping with such a shock, so I let it go.

"It's a long story, beginning before the beginning began." I informed them. "But to sum it up, Rose is like my sister, and my bestest friend. We are apparently royalty, and a proficy? Rose and I were born at the same time while a maroon asteroid was sighted, like in the proficy. Soon after our birth it split into two, one a glowing purple, the other a fiery red. Six months after our birth, our planets and kingdoms were overthrown and broke into war. Thousands of loyal subjects, slaughtered on the spot, blood, pain, endless screams. All of it over us...." I took a long pause, closing my eyes for a moment. Before the beginning began...

Hearing their blood curdling screams and seeing them as they lay dying in the streets and in their own homes. So much blood dying everything in a sickly red, as beasts dark as night and cold as death lay waste to everything. Children seeing their parents being slaughtered from their hiding spots, while they tried not to scream. Or in other cases, children being torn from parents arms and then being ripped apart, before them.

'Why did I have to be connected to her?... all her memories- no, that's not what matters right now..'

I took a deep breath before continuing.

"The galaxy we originate from was sent into a bloody war, and had continued for 13 long years. A high authority, known as the Magic Council, or the Five Mages, looked after us, keeping us hidden from everyone, even from each other. But never our shared fate. We had connected dreams but we could never say any location to meet at or go to. Until we finally met, in a coffee shop of all places. We befriended a young fairy, Amber and Xenia and more, then eventually met our spirit animals in reality. But before that, the fairy-"

Nevira roared, that was my cue. I gave Hazel a light pink dress with similar design to mine, but without the sleeves and no shoulders. She also didn't have the accessories. Same with Elizabeth, except her dress was a light blue.

"It's time to go." I said.

"But where?" Elizabeth asked.

"You've told us we were going somewhere, but you never told us where." Hazel said.

"To another dimension!" I exclaimed with excitement. I hadn't been to my friends dimension in a little while. I couldn't wait to see them again, I was planning on going soon anyways but today is fine too.

"To the Crystal Kingdom, Arisiea Flandoiri!"

Chapter 1: Everything Here

As the warm noon sun rays shined through the window, I finally decided to roll out of bed. It was about 12:10 as I woke up. I pulled my hair up in a low and loose side ponytail, put on some black shorts and my favorite white shoulderless sweater with a black tank top underneath, because my room is always pretty cold, and it was only 62 degrees today. It was the first week of summer and I had spent it so far by staying up late and sleeping in. As I walked away from my bed I thought of what to do today. I caught a faint whiff of something wonderful.

Perfume.

I began to get everything out of my cabinet to work on one specific one, Resadlu. This specific perfume was, how should I say? Not meant for wearing.

In fact, I'd say it's dangerous. My most dangerous, and or deadly one I've got. I was assigned to finish it, by him.. he had been working on it for a very long time, but it was always incomplete, no matter what he tried.

I went into my closet and opened my mini fridge. As I searched for the thing I was looking for I saw that my frogs eye had expired. With a sigh, I continued to search, and I saw it. A small vial of my own blood. I grabbed the vile, and shut the fridge then exited my closet. I headed over to my desk with the perfume. Adding in a drop of my blood, the liquid turned from a green to a gentle purple. I smiled, seeing that I had completed the perfume, more of a potion, I began to put everything away once more. I grabbed a small vile, and put a bit of the finished product in, then slipped it into my shorts pocket.

As I sat on my bedpost I decided to text two of my friends Elizabeth and Hazel, they said that they would come over soon. As I sat peacefully in silence, my mirror staring ringing.

I practically fell off my bed post I was sitting on. I walked over to the full length mirror and traced a symbol across it, and an image of two girls appeared on it.

"Sarah!"  Xenia yelled, I jumped at least a foot in the air.

"I didn't do it!" I immediately said in defense while holding my arms out.

"Wha- never mind that! We tried to call you six times! What happened? Why didn't you answer?"

She was as elegant as ever, wearing a silver crown covered with rubies. And a puffy blood colored dress that went to her knees with a light red sash. Xenia eyes were electric green, and her skin was very creamy white. Her hair went past her hips in falling golden locks.

"Sorry I slept in,  you know you're lucky my parents didn't hear you!"  I said. "I'm a deep sleeper."

"I thought you put a Sarbli on your door." Amber reminded me.

She was dressed in dark and light shades of blue. Her dress was puffy as well. Her crown was made of silver studded with sapphires. She had dark brown hair down to her hips and eyes also dark brown. Her skin was light like her sisters, but she had freckles.

"Right, I forgot I did that." I replied still tired I rubbed my eyes a bit.

"Despite you trying a normal life you must remember your duties as the Regina." Amber stated.

"There are things you must attend to back in Musileume, the people worry with you gone, please do go back for a little bit in a few days time." Xenia stated.

I almost rolled my eyes at this. They're like my parents, hovering over me, keeping me in line. But I must admit, it can be very helpful sometimes.

"I will. Now is that the only reason you called me, because I have-"

"Don't you care about Rose?"  Xenia interrupted. That woke me up. My eyes widened as I could feel my heart begin to beat a little faster.

"What? As Regina I command you to inform me of-" I was cut off mid sentence by the ring of my phone.

My friends said that they are about to pull into the driveway. I still had to make sure that everything was put away properly. I don't have much time!

"I'm so sorry, my friends they can't get in this mess, at least not yet, for I can't prevent them from finding out too much longer. Please tell me about what happened to Rose very soon." I told them hastily.

"We will." Amber assured me.

I hung up, then quickly did a double check of my room before dashing downstairs.

~

I watched as the mirror returned to normal. A small sigh managed to escape my lips. I immediately pulled my hand up to my mouth and covered it with the tips of my fingers. My sister only looked at me slightly shocked, before relaxing.

"I've never seen you so stressed. Are you okay Amber?"

"Yes, I am. It's just that I believe finding Rose should be her top priority at the moment. Not running around with friends like that." I looked at her solemnly. "We all know what is to come, so why does she insist on doing this?"

There was a short silence between us. Xenia pressed her lips together in thought.

"She only cares deeply about others lives. We should know this first hand. Ever since her life was taken, Sarah's been doing everything she can to prevent the devastating futures from happening. That's a downside of Profits Sight. You can usually see what lies ahead, good and bad. But.. since their fates are so devastating, there is no escaping the Fate that binds this multiverse. I think that she just sometimes can't accept that."

She looked at the floor with saddened eyes, as I glanced towards the window. The drapes pulled back letting in the bright sunlight as it danced along the rooms walls.

"She has succumb to her spell, but how much longer will it last? I don't want to do this anymore. I wish for things to go back to how they were."

"Dearest sister. Do you wish for war?" Xenia asked concernedly.

"Of course not. That's absurd. I only desire for her to be herself."

Xenia looked out the window and closed her eyes.

"As do I."

~

"Hey." Hazel said.

She was wearing a blue flannel shirt and some black leggings and some tennis shoes. Her complexion was light tan. Her eyes dark brown, and her tan/brown hair was about a foot and one half long.

 "Hi Sarah." Greeted Elizabeth.

She was a brunette. Elizabeth's hair went down about five inches past her shoulders. She was wearing a light green shirt with black leggings, a large white bow in her hair. Her eyes were a dark blue. Her complexion was a very creamy white.

 "Ello!" I replied.

I let them in so we could get our boots out to go down to the creek. I have a few extra pairs. As we pulled on our boots my dogs came up to greet my friends, happily licking our faces as three tails wagged in the air. Once we got our boots on we headed towards the creek.

"So, how have you guys been?" I asked as we neared the creek.

"Pretty good, not much has been going on." Hazel replied while Elizabeth only nodded in agreement.

We then climbed down the steep rocks with jagged edges to reach the flowing creek down below us.

"Can you believe how much trash is down here? It's like nobody cares about the ecosystem here at all!" I said.

"I know! I was walking past here yesterday and someone in a passing car just threw a McDonald's bag in here. Oh! Here it is!" Hazel said while picking up the soggy paper bag. A disgusted look across her face.

"I think it's because nobody does care, well if they did not anymore." Elizabeth commented.

"This is why I have so little faith in humanity..." Hazel said suddenly. We just looked at her before bursting out laughing.

After we finished cleaning, we searched for crawdads. I looked to my right and saw an unsteady rock that Elizabeth was about to step on.

"Elizabeth wait!"

She looked at me as she stepped on the rock, now putting all her weight on it. My eyes widened as everything seemed to slow for a moment. I saw her form begin to fall back, towards jagged rocks that could injure her, her eyes wide with shock. I reached out to her, as I first felt air slip through my fingers, but right after I felt a hand. I looked to the side to see Hazel gripping Elizabeth's other hand in her own. She felt my gaze and turned to me, then smiled. I smiled back.

"U-um guys?"

We turned our attention back to Elizabeth. Her head was inches away from seemingly being impaled by a sharp edged rock. without hesitation we pulled her onto her feet. Hazel immediately embraced her.

"Jesus! are you okay?" Hazel asked while pulling away to look at her. I looked at the rock that almost could have killed her.

"Yeah..., just a bit shaken." She replied.

"Do you want to feed some ducks?" I offered.

"Okay..." Elizabeth said with a weak smile.

We sat and fed them for awhile. While sitting there we talked about the drama in our lives. I spoke to them of my crush, but I refused to reveal their gender, as to not let them know who it was.

"So you like them?" Elizabeth asked wanting to know more.

"Yes, they're sweet, funny, and cute. And we've known each other for a very long time." I said blushing.

"Do they like you? Have you ever spoken to them um, like at all?" Hazel persisted.

"As a matter of fact I have. And I literally just said I’ve known them for a long time, and I don't crush on people I hardly know. Besides, we're so impossibly close, it's unreal... I don't want to ruin that..." I said while laughing softly.

We fed the ducks some more bread, then eventually it was about time to go home.

I was closing up the garbage bag with all of the trash in it, when a piece of paper flew out of the top. Caught in the wind it flew into a part of a bush that was low to the ground. I walked over to it to pick it up.

As I leaned down to grab it, a drop of black fluid landed on my hand. I knew what it was. My eyes darkened until there was no light left. I looked up to see it. The carrier of bad omens and death, the  thing I hate with all my heart and being. But besides a demon there is something I hate more. It was slobbering everywhere. Nasty. And was a small human like figure.

I put my hand in my pocket and pulled out a small piece of wood with intricate carvings of symbols.

"I bind you, forever more, until I wish you to be destroyed. Into the core, you shall obey, to your masters dismay."

The demon that was drooling profusely was easily captured into the piece. It was very weak and very small.

I sighed, realizing that anyone could have seen that. Even though it was very small and weak, it still could of killed anyone. How did it even get here? Did it come looking for me? It was weak enough I couldn't sense it unless within a few feet of it, but strong enough to take me away to who knows where.

"Sarah?" Elizabeth and Hazel asked in unison.

'Crap...'

Slowly turning around meeting the fate that awaited me, I faced my friends. I didn't really know what to expect. I could just erase their memories of it. But I couldn't do that to my friends.

"Wha-at-?" Elizabeth studered.

"What was-?" Hazel faltered.

I knew that I had a lot to explain about what was the unknown to them. Knowing that the inevitable had finally happened.
