Drama Queen #2

 Dear diary,

I've forgotten what it's like to have a best friend. I've forgotten the laughter and happiness. Because my two ex besties, Marie-Louise and Lynette, ditched me. Yes! Me! The cutest, coolest and most dramatic girl in the entire of London Gate High!

The only thing more important than them right now (apart from myself) is finding out who framed Lexie, my sort-of-stepmum.

Lynn was supposed to do that for me, but it seems like I'm gonna have to do it myself.

 Dear diary,

O. M. G. 😡😡😡

That's how angry I am right now!

Basically, I was in the living room doing Paige's nails, Dad was mowing the lawn and Lexie was watching telly in the living room with me and Paige.

"What colour are you doing?" Lex asked me.

I looked up. "Oh, I'm doing fake nails for her, the long ones that you get for little kids."

Lexie's face changed colour. "Oh ****, Frankie! I said you should paint them a nice pink or whatever colour Paige wanted. I didn't say you should give her fake nails."

She came over to us and peered closer at them.

"How could you be so stupid? They're so blooming long!"

I shrugged. "They're not as long as mine anyway."

"Frankie, Paige is six, you're fifteen. You couldn't possibly give her fake nails a whopping one centimetre shorter than yours!"

"Geez," I muttered "Keep your hair on."

Paige winced and poked her fingers in her ears, prepared for the torrent of swear words.

"You bloody piece of ****! You already got me ****** off yesterday when you took off, leaving your blooming friend waiting on the ******* doorstep. Why do you have to be so ******* selfish? God!"

And before she knew what she was doing, Lexie reached out and slapped me hard across the face.

Time stopped. Paige froze. Lexie's mouth shut. My heart skipped a beat. I could already feel the giant red hand mark on my cheek from where she'd slapped me.

"You blooming pyscopath!" I screamed, and I ran upstairs to my room.

Lexie called something to me, but I didn't hear because I was slamming the door of my room. I did it with such force that it fell off its hinges.

 Dear diary,

At times like these, I wish I had my best friends. What's more, Rhiannon Godwinson (a famous teen model), is having her fashion show tomorrow. I'm not going alone, that's for sure, and I'm definitely going because I've already bought my outfit: a cute violet shoulderless jumper dress.

Dad had no idea what had happened until dinner time.

Lexie called me down for dinner and I said I'd have it in bed tonight. That was when Dad got mad and insisted I come downstairs. I told him  he couldn't make me so he left me alone.

Dinner was mac and cheese (my favourite!). Nobody brought my dinner up to me so I crept downstairs to see what was going on. Besides, I couldn't ignore the glorious, cheesy smell!

"What's up with Frankie?" I heard Dad ask.

Lexie stayed quiet.

"She argued with Mummy because, because Frankie do fake nails for me that were, um, a 'whooping one centimetre shorter than Frankie's'!"

I could just imagine Dad raising an eyebrow at Lex.

"And then she swore at Frankie, but I put my fingers in my ears like a good girl. Daddy, was I a good girl?"

"Yes, yes, you were very good. Continue."

"And then Mummy slapped Frankie and Frankie shouted at Mummy and she ran upstairs and slam her door and, and Daddy, Daddy, Frankie broke her door!"

Honestly, Paige is such a snitch! Dad has the eyes to see my broken door; he doesn't need an annoying, not-so-blind, stupid six-year-old telling him.

Dinner continued smoothly after that and nobody spoke apart from Paige saying what happened at school, blah, blah.

After dinner, Lexie cleared up in silence and headed upstairs to have a nap and Paige decided to watch Frozen - for like the fiftieth time - in the living room.

So I went upstairs to my room and tried to ignore my hungry stomach.
