"It's catching up to us"! Selena shouts,I look behind us to see it,Its black fur,Long claws and its glowing eyes,Its growls as it chases us Zayn looks into its eyes and stops running,Standing still tears start running from his eyes."Come on Zayn" I yell,"I can't move" he sobbed the monster leap straight at Zayn biting his head off, Selena screams,I stand there in shock.

The monster suddenly stops eating Zayn,He starts growling at looks up to me and Selena "We gotta go Now Jace" says Selena but i don't move i just stand there looking at the thing that ate my best friend. I look down at my hand as it's being grabbed by Selena we start running towards the exit of the cave. The monster chases us with its claws digging into the ground I hear its footsteps getting closer and fast, Selena falls, the monster  swiped at her leg, She screams, I turn back to try help but She shouts "Go!, Run, Run for your life!!" I instantly start running with tears dripping down from my eyes hearing the screams from Selena and the monster's growling suddenly the screams stop. "She's gone" i say sobbing then i hear a loud roar coming from behind me, " I'm next" i say, The roar was so loud that the ground started shaking I stumbled onto the ground i looked up  behind me and to see  the monster looking down on me growling, I look into its eyes they are big and blue and they glow,The monster swipes at me,I scream suddenly i find myself in my bedroom in my bed. It was only a dream, I sigh in relief, My mother rushes into my room "Whats wrong jace?" She worries i look at her face i can tell that I worried her," Nothing mom it was just a dream" I say "oh..okay try to get some sleep your first day of school is tomorrow" she says "okay mom, goodnight" i say "goodnight honey" she says as she closes the door.I lay in bed looking at the ceiling thinking about the dream or the nightmare that i just had,I gradually fall to sleep again.                                 

"Wake up Kid" i look up, it's my dad at the door "hey dad" i say very tiredly "cmon first day of school today" he says as he smiles at me,he walks out of my room, I force myself out of bed and head into the bathroom, I brush my teeth and take a shower then go back into my room i open my closet door and stare at my clothes, there aren't that much clothes i take out a black hoodie and black jeans and black runners i then realised i was wearing all black,but it didn't bother me much infact it  suited me alot, I walken into the kitchen and sat at the dining table, I was joined by my Big brother Axel And my father and Mother, for breakfast we had bread,pork,grapes and a cup of water it was a typical breakfast in our village. I said bye to everyone got my backpack and walked out the door, i walked through the market area and stopped to looked at a statue in the middle of the market place i walked over to it at looked at writing engraved on it, It said " here is the The Great Statue of Zardos, The Last chief of  The Nevada Village He saved the village from the Helix monster with his Magic he Was the Salamande, Sadly he died using Sealing Magic he sacrificed himself for the village the town has been safe ever since, I was 5 when that happened, I still can't believe that was 9 years ago. 

I continued to walk to school until i reached,first day of school in Nevada high what will happen here i wonder,i walked through the gate only to see Selena standing up against the wall looking at her books, her  beautiful Blonde hair is over her face because of the wind, She looked really pretty this was the first time I realised that she was really pretty, On the corner of my eye i saw Zayn he was talking to Dean. I walked over to Selena she waved at me "Hey Jace" she said with a smile on her face "hey Selena,who's class are you in?" I said, " I'm in you and Zayns class" she said ," thats great, whats our first class?" I said "we have history then theory but first there's an assembly in the main hall"

She said. Zayn walked over to us and started talking to us but i spaced out i looked around the school yard and saw different people some were on their own, lonely and others were really loud and running around with their friends, I recognised some of the people from elementary school like Dean he is 14 like me and has the power to control trees and plants he has black hair and green eyes he's really funny but I don't really talk to him that much he hangs around with Zayn alot, Then there's  Lydia she is 15 years old her father died in the great war between Nevada and Dearyn She has red hair and she can heal , she has a great personality but you can tell she is hurting sometimes, then there's Ryan he is 14 years old he has ice magic he can produce ice from his hand and feet he was the ace in our class he got straight A's in every subject he was very good in combat he was able to go toe to toe with some of our elementary teachers he is really good at controlling his power, His family is like him too all of them, Me and ryan used to be friends but we aren't anymore i dunno why to be honest. Then there is Zayn he's 14 and he can control rocks, he can bring them up from underground and throw them at his opponents or use them as a shield, Zayn is my best friend we've done everything together from when we were small, Then there's Selena she is 14 also and she can read people's minds she should be able to control people's minds  also but she hasn't reached that level in her power yet. Selena is also my best friend I met her first in elementary school. Last but not least there's me,my name is Jace im 14 and i have fire powers, My Dad and brother are Aions, Aions protect the village and make important decisions for the village, I want to become an Aion but i have to be 17 and be skilled in combat and strategy.

Before i knew it the bell rang, it was time for the assembly.

I walked into the hall with my friends and sat down beside them. The Co-Chief walked onto the stage along with three teachers i looked around the hall and saw teachers positioned at every corner in the hall,The Co-Chief started to talk about the school history and the subjects and our role in this village.The teachers then handed out forms to fill in about ourselves,when we finished we got our teacher, Our teacher was Shiraya Lee, He is also an Aion he's quite popular in the village. 

We got to our class and took our seats i sat beside Zayn and Selena sat beside Ryan.First was history we learned about the great war that ended 12 years ago. I then headed to theory in theory we got told scenarios that would happen in combat and had to solve the problems that could occur.

Then school ended i walked home and had my dinner my Dad and Brother were on Aion business, I had dinner with my mom then i went to sleep. 

I woke up in the middle of the night again having the same bad dream, I thought nothing of it and try to go back to sleep but I couldn't, i looked at the clock to see it was 6:30 in the morning i was so glad that it was the weekend and I didn't have school today.
