There was no escaping them I’ve run I’ve tried but they always find me .  Now it’s time. Time to leave home on a journey only for hero’s.  I’m not a hero. But I don’t think I have a choice.  

Kyla winters got ready for the journey. Her green eyes sparkling. She was not your ordinary hero. But this story isn’t ordinary.  Kyla had gone everywhere to get away from the creatchers who toke her parents .    Five years she has been running but it was time to face the truth . Her parents were gone and there was nothing she could do. Her friends couldn’t know they would try to stop her and she was shore her granny wouldn’t notice she was gone. 

Granny was a lady in the middle of life and death but she was all Kyla had.    Granny ate little but sleept a lot in fact she hadn’t been up for more then an hour in years.   

 Kyla was ready. As the day got closer, she stole more food from the cupboard and packed extra supplies. Three days, two days, one day. When the day came she snuck out at dawn to ready Starlight. Starlight was the last thing she had been given from her parents. Kyla had turned 8 the day her parents were taken. Now she is 13 and ready to face her destiny of life or death. Life: save her parents and her. Death: dying trying to save her parents.  Now, like her granny , she was stuck in the middle. 

Kyla ate little and sleept little. This journey was tough but she could get through it. The dark forest, her first challenge. Only the bravest got through it and she ,of all people, was not one of them. But she had to try. Starlight was doing well for a horse of 5 years she was carrying 20kg of supples and a 13 year old girl. 

Kyla had 3 days. She knew only three days because the monsters told her she had five years. If she failed they would kill her parents with their kiss. But Kyla knew she hadn’t escaped yet. Lily, one of Kyla’s friends, lived just past the entrance to the forest. She would have to ask for directions. She hoped Lily wasn’t there. As Kyla reached the edge of the log cabin which Lily called home she braiced herself for terrible things things you can’t even imagine. 

Kyla knocked on the door. No answer. She thought that meant Mrs Doris was asleep so she knocked her secret knock in hopes Lily would hear it and come to the door . Still no answer. Suddenly she knew what was happening Mrs Doris was shopping and forgot her keys so Mr Doris had to go get her and give her her keys. But Mr Doris forgot his keys so LILY had to go and bring everyone’s keys and that’s how it go’s. 

Kyla had only to wait for them to get back. That couldn’t be so hard, could it. Well, Kyla was there for 3 hours when she herd a russle in the bush behind her. Out of nowhere,  a pixie appeared.  The pixie introduced it self as Tulip. Tulip loved the fact that Kyla was going on an adventure to save her parents and offered to come with her. Kyla agreed and the pixie lead the way. Being a pixie in this forest is hard, so hard that only 20 pixies remain here. The ones who left were eaten by the colipins, the only creature that can multiply by kissing. Their kiss can kill, or turn you in to one of them. Kyla had a choice. She could stay and wait for Lily or follow the pixie in to the uncharted part of the forest. Kyla thought the safer option was to wait but she was running out of time. She went with the pixie.

As night draw closer Kyla became glade she had gone with the pixie. Tulip was a smart pixie and she know the forest like the back of her hand. And starlight could keep up with her.
