Chapter 1

Why buy a GymPlay Airtrack?

Airtracks are great fun, but also a good way for the children to get some more exercise instead of sitting indoor with the mobile telefon or ipads. I am a huge fan of Airtracks myself, even though I am a bit to old to be using it properly myself. I prefer the Berg Trampoline instead. I recently bought a Berg Trampoline for my garden for me and my children to use. Good choice which I can recommend. So why would I recommend you buying a GymPlay Airtrack for the garden? Almost all children loves to jump around, do handstands, backflips and those types of gymnastic moves. With an Airtrack this becomes a lot more fun. Airtracks are great training for your muscles and your coordination, just like trampoline, but you can do faster and more advanced series of jumps on the Airtrack, which makes it less fun to begin with but after you get a hang of it, it's actually more fun than the trampoline for the kids.

How long should the Airtrack be?

Should you go with a small 3 meter Airtrack or a longer 6 meter model? The smaller Airtracks are easier to carry, to setup and you can use them indoor without problems. A longer Airtrack is great for combinations of jumps as you can get more speed and height on the longer versions. A longer models is more fun to use for the advanced user or people with gymnastic experience. However a 6 or 8 meter Airtrack is a lot heaver to carry, so it can be harder for the young people to carry and setup by themselves. Because of this many recommend buying a 3 or 4 meter model to beginners or younger people, and as they get older and more skilled, replace it with a longer Airtrack from GymPlay.

How high should the Airtrack be?

The heigher Airtrack you buy, the more bounce and height will you get on your jumps when using it. But this addition performance comes a price. A physical price as it will cost you money money to buy, but also an increase in weight. A 20 cm high Airtrack is a lot heavier than a 10 cm high Air Track. So again this is something that could be an issue for the younger children. For older users getting a higher Airtrack would be preferred as they get more fun with it,

Another solution

If you want both the benefits of a long Air track you can use for complex series of jumps and maximum speed and the benefits of a smaller Airtrack which is easier to setup, carry and can be used indoor, the consider buying 2 small GymPlay Airtracks. GymPlay has created a unique solution that enables you to combine two smaller Airtracks into one with their Velcro connector. This way you can easily carry both and when you need to, combine them into one long Air track. This enables you to use it both indoor and outdoor and get the best of both. Granted this solution is a bit more expensive, but you get a lot of flexibility instead. So this would be my recommendation, especially if you got 2 children who would be fighter over who get's to use it anyway. Buy one for both of them, and let them use them individually some of the time, and combine them at other times.
