How far would you go for love?
Levana and her sisters gather on the summer solstice to mourn for lovers lost and perform a forbidden ceremony.
She will have her wish, but at what price?
CHAPTER 1 (SAMPLE)
It was late in the evening as I joined my sisters at the rise of the meadow to gather around the gnarled yew tree. On this midsummer’s night, we were to lament over those loved and lost and find solace. I thought of my young husband, Auric, and remembered our first encounter, another solstice, long ago. We had fallen in love, taken our vows and nothing would ever part us. Except, he was gone, and I was betrayed.
I instinctively caressed the spirit talisman around my neck which contained the treasured lock of his hair. I breathed a long sigh, and then caught the gaze of the Elder Sister. Only one of our sect would be chosen tonight, and her eyes rested on me.
