Unveiled at the 74th Goodwood Members’ Meeting, a classic car event open to members of the eponymous automobile club, we took a close look at the Ingenieur Chronograph Edition “74th Members’ Meeting at Goodwood” IW380703.IWC’s Ingenieur Collection, which features the high-quality legendry watch replica guru Gerald Genta’s timeless design Ingenieur, is introduced to the watch replica enthusiasts with its new design and fully in-house movements.

The new Ingenieur Collection features three variants mainly differentiated with their case materials and dial colors. The version we have here is the IW380703 model with an 18K rose gold case and black dial.

The new case design features a 42mm diameter, which is pretty optimal for today’s sports chronographs. Comparing with the previous 45 and 46mm diameter versions, the new models feel extremely comfortable and well balanced on the wrist. The lugs of the 18K rose gold case are smooth and nicely curved. The winding crown and the pushers perfectly match with the elegant form of the case.

The bezel, lugs, winding crown, and pushers share the same mirror-polished finish while the sides of the case and the folding clasp features matt finish.
 
The black dial is accompanied with matching rose gold hands and indices. The Caliber 69370 sports the same dimensions as the Valjoux 7750 – 30 mm wide and 7.9 mm high – but is better engineered in terms of structure as this new movement features a column wheel (instead of the basic cam in the 7750), IWC’s “Magic Lever” winding mechanism and a 46-hour power reserve. The Caliber 69370 bears a similar dial layout with the ETA Valjoux 7750 at the first look, but there is a difference: the sub-seconds are at six o’clock instead of at nine as on the 7750.
