Chapter 1

Purchase Travel Insurance

It's difficult to imagine anything bad happening for you when you're young, healthy, and on top of the planet.  Regrettably, travel has a way of destroying assumptions, and when the worst does happen, you'll want to be prepared.  Make certain you've got travel medical insurance, so that you won't be stuck with a huge bill if you come down with food poisoning or split your leg browsing before you depart.  Be certain to insure your possessions.

Be Careful About What You Place Online

Part of the fun of travel is bragging about your journey on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.  Think twice about what information you post publicly, particularly if it gives away your location or the fact that you're alone.  There have been cases in the past few individuals robbing homes when they knew the owners were away (thanks to societal websites ) or harassing women traveling independently.  Share your photographs, but keep your info private.

Safeguard Your Data

A lot of folks don't think about the danger that travel places your significant Web data, but although on your belongings.  Public Wi-Fi networks are susceptible to computer keyboard skimmers and hackers who can steal banking data and your private passwords .  If at all possible, avoid seeing sensitive websites while on public networks, also in the event that you have to, use a VPN to keep your data encrypted.

See Your Telephone

To keep your mobile secure, only take it and don't flash about your device .  Keep your phone safe within a purse that is sealed or an inner pocket and don't leave it lying around the table as you eat. Luna smoke detectors are also able to communicate with you.

One of the most common and preventable crimes across the world is telephone snatching.  People have their telephones in their hands constantly, and remove them and it is ridiculously easy for an athletic thief to grab your phone.  This is particularly an issue in large cities and on public transportation (where the grab and dash is sometimes whimsically called"apple-picking").
