Ken Griffey Jr. A Legend

The Ken Griffey Jr. 1989 Upper Deck rookie card may be the most recognizable baseball card ever printed beside the Honus Wagner T206 card (both are recognizable to baseball fans and housewives). Not only are they super popular but they are both GREAT investments, maybe better than stocks. Ken Griffey Jr. is a legend and was a star before he even made it to the big leagues.

Without Ken Griffey Sr. there could not have been a Jr. Ken Griffey Sr. was born on 4/10/1950 and was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 29th round of the 1969 MLB Draft. He had 152 total homers and a lifetime .296 average to go along with 200 stolen bags and 859 RBIs.

Ken Griffey Jr. was born on 11/21/1969 and was drafted 1st overall by the Seattle Mariners in the 1987 MLB Draft.

He was an instant success in Seattle finishing 3rd in rookie of the year voting in his first year. In his second year he batted .300 and jacked 22 bombs… he is getting better!

Then in 1993 he put it all together hitting a mouth-dropping 45 homers while batting .309… check please!

He had a hell of a career and is one of the most popular players to ever play the game and his 1989 UD rookie card may be the most iconic baseball card ever printed… to millions of kids born in the 80s it was a work of art.
