It really does exist
No longer just myth
A place where cats can smile
Where rabbits are on time
A light flickers in the hall. It’s the ioonly remaining functioning light in the entire building. It’s a dim little thing with hardly any purpose. Yet for one it’s the only source of hope he has, not that he has much to begin with. Another thing he holds tightly to his self esteem, though it won’t do him any good. This place, he knows, is a hell on earth, with its darkened halls, sealed off exits, windowless and door less rooms. He’s not sure how he got here in this room. He hasn’t eaten since they put him in here. He doesn’t care anyway. All he really wants is to go home.
There’s that sound again, the sound of gears turning. Instinctively he cringes. The sound hurts his ears, as the gears sound rusted. After a few minutes the sound stops, but it’s followed, by another. A faint whistle, like the ones used on dogs, it makes him dizzy and soon he passes out.
He paces quietly. The room he’s in is stuffy. Cobwebs fill the corner, and dust settles everywhere. For him freedom is but a few steps away, if the guards would leave that is. His new room is short of an improvement. it's still windowless, but at least he knows there's a door. Things changed after that day. He's not sure what was done to him, but when he awoke he had a tail and cat ears. There'd been strange people standing around him, and they'd looked quite satisfied. For several hours he'd screamed and demanded to know what hd ben done to him. All of this to no avail, as they simplydumped him here and have yet to return.
'Max, huh? That's a nice name...actually I dislike it.'
Startled the boy looks around. Eyes searching for his intruder. Baffled, he sits against a wall, once he's sure he's found nothing.
'So you are smart. Lucky me! Not really. I've no idea what they were thinking with you. Then again no one ever knows .what they're thinking.'
Again confusion takes form on his face. He's unsure if he's going crazy or if someone is actually talking to him.
'If you were crazy you wouldn't have survived. Trust me. Of course I've no need for you.'
"Maxwell, it's good to see you."
The boy liffts his head. Standing in front of him is one of the men from that day. He can't tell who this person is or what they look like because of the full body suit he's wearing. all he can see is the preson's eyes.
"Have you been well, Maxwell."
"What have you done to me?"
'Silly boy they won't tell you. They don't ever tell.'
"Have you made a connection with Cheshire?"
"Who's cheshire? Where am I?"
'You sound like a female. Asking all the right questions improperly. Should I show you how it's done?'
"I won't ask again. Where am I and who's Cheshire?"
"You're in Wonderland Facilities."
"Oh, that's just amazing. Not."
'I did't think he'd tell you. Ah, well, welcome to Project Wonderland, Maxwell Shadows."
It takes a moment for the boy to realize what's happening to him, but by then he's already losst control of his body. His eyes went from dark grey to bright green and a smile graces his face from ear to ear.
"I am Cheshire Cat, and you sir have no place here."
One second he was there, the next he was gone. When he reappeared there was blood on his arm and a heart in his hand. on the floor lay that strange man, but he was no longer alive.
"Project Wonderland bids you a farewell worthy of the cat."
