Introduction

A man who had been the bad guy for a long time.

A man who was not really evil when his story began.

People only saw the worst things he had done.

Because he had been the villain in their lives.

No one really knew who he really was.

Until the day he was found.

Not in his world.

But in the reality of a woman.

He was found there.

No one knew why.

This is a story of the antagonist, the man who was hated by many. This is his story; of how he learned that sometimes, people became evil because of the circumstances he's in. That he's not completely evil, and that he could still choose to be good.

People did judged him, but someone will see the goodness in him.

And this would be the start of the life he had never imagined.

A life he never imagined...

Prologue

“HE WAS standing by the cliff when Luella, Rave, and Erylle found him. They were just few feet apart. The cold wind was touching their faces in a harsh way, but none of them seemed to give attention to that.

They were at the end of the war. And the result of what will happen between them that night would decide the end of it.

“It had to end now,” Luella said. “The suffering we all experienced should end now.”

Lexus turned around and face them. It was already known to him that he had lost that war. That day will be the last day of his life. He has nowhere to run. He has nowhere to hide. That would be the end of it all.

He still wanted to fight, to defend his self from them, but at that moment he felt that kind of tiredness he had never felt before. He was tired physically and mentally. He thought he could succeed, but it all end up just like an impossible dream in his head.

“Surrender now, Lexus! End this war now!” Luella shouted, taking a few steps toward Lexus. She still refuse to believe that he would hurt her. “We could live together peacefully. There’s no reason for us to fight like this.”

He scoffed. “Do you expect me to believe that, princess? A world where you and me could be at peace. You’re such a foolish believer of fucking goodness in everyone.”

“But I know you’re better than this. You have a good heart—”

“A good heart? Don’t make me laugh. I started a war, I conquered your kingdom, I killed people, I almost kill you and your friends, and you still believe that I have a fucking good heart?” He laughed to that foolishness. “And you want me to live with you all? I. Would. Rather. Die.”

“We believe you could still change—” Erylle said but she was cut off by Lexus.

“One telling me that I am a good person, and another telling me that I should change. You are truly a bunch of crazy monkeys. You never change since we’re kids. Should I be sad about that fact or—”

“We just want to help you!” Rave shouted. His eyes glaring at Lexus; maybe because he's already losing his patience. “Can’t you just be thankful that we were helping you?”

Lexus took a step backwards. “I will never be thankful. Why would I? I am not asking for your damn help.”

“Why are you so stubborn? We were not like this before. We were—”

“Friends? Oh, Rave… Our friendship ended the moment you and Erylle forgot what we were before. It all ended on that day you chose Luella over me. When instead of being by my side, you stayed by her side—”

“We did not choose to be with her just to hurt you—”

    “Liar.”

“Rave and I just chose what was right.”

“And abandoning your childhood friend just to be with that girl was the right thing to do? To fight for her instead of me? To give her the crown instead to me? You never stood by my side. Both of you. And that was the right thing?”

“They never wanted to leave you behind—”

“Shut up, Princess! You have no idea to any of this!”

Luella took a step forward. “You are important to us.”

“Let me guess. You want me to be thankful for that again, right?”

“If you will just continue to shoo us away, you will never really feel that we care for you.”

“We do care for you, Lexus,” Erylle said.

“You are our friend,” Rave walked towards him. “Let’s start again. mate.”

    “No.”

    “Lexus.”

“I will never forgive you.” He glared at her. “You were the reason why I am now alone, Luella.” He felt a lump formed in his throat. Then sadness made its way again to his system. But he tried hard not to cry again. Not in front of those crazy trio. The tears he had released few hours ago was enough.

He clenched his fist hard enough that it turned white. He could feel the anger running through his veins, he could feel it drumming behind his eyes; he was angry but it was mixed with the sadness in his heart.  And that sadness was the one stopping him from running towards them to have his revenge.

“My mother died so there’s no reason for me to live.” He said in a more quiet tone now. “I would rather die than to be alone in this world.”

There was a loud gasp that came from the trio. They wondered how his mother died. They just saw her hours ago. She was in the woods. So how…

    “Your mother… died?” Luella asked.

But she was not able to have an answer when Lexus took several steps backward and maneuvered his body to fall freely off the cliff.

Lexus heard them all screamed his name, but he just chose to close his eyes and welcome his inevitable death. They could finally be together again. His dad, his mom; they could be together again afterlife.

He doesn’t know if heaven was the one waiting for them, or if it’s the hell that would punish him for all the wrong things he had done, but he was hoping that they would be together.

“All I wanted was for my mom to be happy. But I still failed her…”

Then there was darkness. He felt cold, but there was that warmth that came from somewhere inside him, embracing his soul.  The feeling of dying was indescribable. There were so many emotions. They were just there lingering inside his system as he fall.

He was dying, he was sure.

    He was dying…

    Then the great villain died…
