a history of disorder

excavation

dig deep into your chest and

look, at hands coming up

all vowel-stained and consonant-torn with

the critique-ripped syntax of digits

because see, the words do not fall

in place

and you lie amidst a carnage of adjectives and nouns

the wreckage of emotion-debris strewn about and

idea-corpses clawing at the seams of your attention

as you continue searching for the first hints of inspiration.

extrinsic

hollowed-out chest, pixel-basted eyes

a face ghastly screen-lit, body of carpal-tunnelled joints

build up walls of

rehearsed smiles, rose-shaded snapshots

all the while barricading yourself within

pixelbarriers blanketed with growing digitweeds,

bloombursts of heartflowers, their scent ever-ephemeral.

and so you send out azure-feathered doves

soaring into cyberskies, a flurryflock of

messengers carrying your words

to whoever is out there in this

world wide web of code-paths,

as you cry out for them to

love me

love me

love me.

safekeep

some days, the darkness seeps in,

tasting like ash on the tongue-tip

choked down, a bile-bitter throat-dust,

these are the thoughts kept

caged within rib-hollows, straining

at the seams of this fragile skinsuit,

the thoughts spelled out with entrails and blood

so raise your hands to the light and

watch them come up ghosts, where they

were buried beneath the corpses of

the people you long to be.
